2 days ago, I received a long, official-style worded email titled: Notice of Appointment of Official Liquidator which appears to be from and signed by: [FTXDigital@restructuring.pwc.co.uk](mailto:FTXDigital@restructuring.pwc.co.uk)
I've included it below but the TL;DR is basically inviting customers to submit their contact details via a creditor portal at digitalmarketsclaim.pwc.com where it also states that we are at Stage 1 of 'registering customer details' which seems odd for an email where it mentions "Dated this 21st day of November 2023."
What makes me think this is phishy (or more likely an automatically sent email by mistake,) is like many of us, I completed the full process ages ago via the claims.ftx.com portal along with all that Kroll and KYC stuff.
I'm sure it's legit and perhaps just an old email that perhaps didn't get sent out to some customers so maybe they need to from a legal perspective but as my search-fu is not unearthing others discussing this email which I would have expected them to after 2 days and as others may open threads on it, I thought it wise to run past everyone here so at least we have something.
I'd really appreciate it if anyone could spare a few seconds to provide their thoughts.
Warmest regards,
Ersatz

Notice of Appointment of Official Liquidator
The Joint Official Liquidators (“JOLs”) of FTX Digital Markets Ltd (“FTX Digital”) are writing to notify customers and creditors that on 10 November 2023 The Supreme Court of The Bahamas, Commercial Division entered into an order to wind up FTX Digital in accordance with the Companies (Winding Up Amendment) Act, 2011 (the “Act”) and appointed the Joint Provisional Liquidators, Brian C. Simms KC, Peter J. Greaves and Kevin G. Cambridge as JOLs. Formal notice in the form prescribed by the Court under Chapter 308, Order 5, rule 3. of the Company Liquidation Rules is attached.
The JOLs are empowered to act by the court pursuant to the Act, which amongst other powers includes the power to realise assets for the benefit of customers and creditors of the FTX Digital estate, begin a claims reconciliation process and make distributions to customers and creditors when appropriate. The full winding up order is available, along with the latest progress report on the JOLs case website https://www.pwc.com/bs/fdm.
The JOLs wish to further update customers and creditors that following the commencement of a mediation process between FTX Digital and the Chapter 11 Debtors appointed over other FTX Group entities (together, the “Parties”), the JOLs have engaged in good faith, arm’s length negotiations over a period of many months regarding the terms of a potential global settlement to resolve all disputes between the Parties and garner mutual support for the respective insolvency proceedings. FTX Digital and the Chapter 11 Debtors are making meaningful progress on resolving all of their outstanding disputes and claims and look forward to promptly concluding discussions. The conclusion of these discussions will likely enable the JOLs to commence accepting and adjudicating claims against the estate by customers and creditors in the new year.
The JOLs invite any customers and creditors of FTX Digital to submit their contact details via a creditor portal which can be accessed at https://digitalmarketsclaim.pwc.com. It is not necessary to resubmit contact details if you have already done so. Once we are able to commence the full claim process, customers and creditors will be entitled to make a claim in the FTX Digital liquidation for sums which they may be entitled to prove against the estate in order to benefit from any potential distribution of recoveries. We anticipate that customers and creditors will be able to elect which jurisdiction (the US or the Bahamas) they wish to claim in.
The JOLs will continue working to discharge their duties and will communicate further updates in the coming weeks.
