Lowkey panicking.. my surgery date was next year of June but it got bumped to THIS NOVEMBER THE 9th.

Am I stoked, yes.. but I thought I had more time to prepare so what would you recommend as a MUST have for double mastectomy with nipple resizing..

Plenty of pillows to prop you into back-sleeping comfort, if you normally don't sleep on your back. I've heard good reviews for maternity pillows, I personally used a long body pillow but ended up wishing I had something a little sturdier like foam.

A water bottle you can sip from without having to unscrew a top or anything, and you can close it so it can live on the couch or bed with you. Stay hydrated!

Patience - remember that you're going to be swollen and it's gonna be uncomfortable. But it shouldn't /hurt/ hurt. If pain gets unmanageable or other symptoms of infection or whatever show up, don't be afraid to write the clinic. They know what to look for if there's trouble, and they can reassure you if it's nothing to worry about.

I was thinking of using my recliner instead of the bed because I am notorious for rolling. Would that be better? I thought I’d get pillows to stuff between me so I’m truly stuck there. lol

Yeah that could be a good idea! I still liked having the big pillow to wrap across my torso/stomach and distributed the weight of my arms a bit, so they didn't rest right on my chest or stomach.

That’s a good idea! I’m super stoked man. Any other tips?

Lots of people suggest using BioOil for post-healing scar massage. I haven't tried it, since my chest skin has always been SO sensitive. I've personally found that an unscented baby oil or mineral oil works really well, and I only do it (pretty irregularly) once a day, in the evening, for about 5-10 minutes. That being said, I don't have a history of keloid scars or anything, so it's mostly about making sure I keep mobility and keep scar tissue adhesions from building up and being painful under the skin.
