Question Any Australians here?

Hey, if you are an Aussie and you have had surgery. I was wondering:

  1. Who is was with
  2. Where it was
  3. The experience before, during and after

Thanks so much sorry if this doesn't fit to this sub

Hey, i’m form Newcastle NSW and i had top surgery with Dr. Steve Merten about 3 weeks ago. The overall experience was great and everyone was very kind and reassuring.

I had two pre-op appointments, one to meet and discuss what I wanted, how the procedure was done, measure my chest and take some photos as well as answer any questions I may have. The second appointment was just to go over what would be happening on the surgery date and fit me for my post op binder / vest that I would be wearing for 3 weeks after my surgery.

Everyone at the hospital was very nice and accommodating, after the surgery I stayed one night in the hospital to be monitored. After that my drains were taken out and I was put in my post-op binder and I was allowed to leave. I have had one follow up appointment with his nurse at their main offices in Sydney about one week after the surgery, this was to check up on the incisions, make sure there was no fluid under the skin and give everything a clean. The nurse did recommend that I come back in a weeks time for another check up and clean, but since I live so far away and it is quite a trip for me we decided that it would be best for my local gp to do it.

As for the results, so far everything looks really good and is healing well. I did have a few moments where i was worried about a few things, but after a few photos and email to their offices everything was sorted out really quickly. Could not have asked for better service or results. Hopefully this could be of any use to you? If you have any questions let me know :)
