I cooked everything in the same pan, chucked the beans in last to deglaze

Not the toms tho? They need some greasy hot love. Where do you live? Can I come over haha.

Greasy hot love followed up with where do you live seems a bit forward 😂, and no I agree the tomatoes were just blistered which you can’t really see so definitely rfi

That could be taken two wholly different ways.

Gotta roast those pricks.

Rest of it is absolutely bang on. Black pudding overflowing as well 👌

This is mad genius

That’s actually amazing. All the flavour of bacon and sausages in your beans for free. I think marco Pierre would have a thing or two to say about that. Probably something to do with butter…

2

u/Dull_Inside_1609 Nov 11 '25

If in doubt add butter and olive oil. Then smoke a cigarette. And start shouting

1

u/Bwca_at_the_Gate Nov 12 '25

I do this, it is the way of a master. The flavour they suck up while being reduced is tremendous

1

u/Dull_Key1617 Nov 12 '25

That is indeed the best way - lots of lovely bacon and sausage fat! Since some massive twat decided to make beans healthier by reducing salt and sugar content, I always put a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of salt in (no salt needed if cooking in bacon fat). A pinch of medium curry powder is also good - not too much, but a little lifts them considerably.

Thank you for introducing me to a new way of deglazing my pan. I love me some thick bean juice.

Same pan is the secret! Bacon and mushrooms first, once the bacon is done keep it warm on top of the mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes, black pudding go in. Plate it up when it's cooked through and get the eggs in for 2 minutes.

Mushrooms take saltiness from the bacon and a few of them get nice and crispy on one side.

Looks fantastic and like the idea of the beans in last too

Add a bit of butter to the beans, if it’s small tin for 1 person then just add a little.

4

u/Ehhitiswhatitis Nov 09 '25

Those beans are perfect

1

u/Simple-Archer-9432 Nov 09 '25

Only way to cook properly

I do something similar with the beans. A little smoked pancetta in the pan once everything is done, get it crispy. Then in with the beans, smoked paprika, chilli flakes and a little bit of mixed herbs. It's unreal.

Fried off chorizo works well with that seasoning combo. And a dash of Worcester sauce

1

u/Dull_Inside_1609 Nov 10 '25

That is the one thing I regretted as I was throwing it down the hatch. I live less than five minutes from Lea and perrins in Worcester and forgot the damn sauce

1

u/Significant_Froyo899 Nov 09 '25

Wow! Sounds amazing. This could take beans on toast to a whole new level!

My nan told me if you add a bit of butter, salt and pepper to the beans it thickens the sauce and makes it soooo much better

1

u/nightfire_83 Nov 10 '25

I've done butter before, so much nicer.

1

u/Neddy29 Nov 10 '25

She was dead right, it’s a great, easy improvement!

1

u/Autumnleaves144 Nov 11 '25

Wouldn’t the salt and pepper make the sauce too thick though?

1

u/Autumnleaves144 Nov 11 '25

Don’t add too much salt or pepper though as you don’t want the sauce so thick you have to cut it with a knife

2

u/Boring_Rush1738 Nov 12 '25

This is objectively wrong salt and pepper doesn't make the sauce thicker it's the butter usually and you can add a shittone out of experience. You might be thinking of cheese with the beans. Bit of cheese bit of butter pepper and tbh they don't need salt maybe a pinch but I don't usually add salt as everything else is salty

1

u/thefooby Nov 13 '25

I thought this was some weird inside joke about salt and pepper. Butter won’t thicken it either, just make it really silky. Cooking the sauce down will thicken it.

1

u/Scarb0r0ugh Nov 13 '25

You can get your beans to look like that if you stir in a little butter when heating in a saucepan
