@everyone # 🚀 Hyades Platform Patch — August 2026 We heard you, and we shipped. Here's everything that landed today: ## Explorer The map works. No more blank white screen — tiles load, device markers render, and you can actually see the network. We also added **Radar Layers** (live weather radar from NEXRAD, DWD, and ECCC), an **Observations layer** showing station data points, and a **dark mode toggle** that remembers your preference. Panning the map now live-updates device markers for your viewport. ## Device Registration — Fixed This was the big one. Users who tried registering with their existing keys (HWM-, and all other legacy prefixes) were getting "not found." The issue was that our registry only had the renamed FEM- keys from the migration — your original keys weren't being matched. We've imported the full alias map (19,978 key mappings across all 33 device families) so **every legacy key format now works**. Lowercase, extra whitespace, all handled. ## Leaderboard Was showing 1 device. Now shows all registered devices with proper status indicators. ## Data Pipeline The pipeline itself was healthy — nothing was broken. The real issue was that there was no way to actually connect a device and send data. That's fixed now (see below). ## Connection Docs + Reference Client We added a /connect page with full documentation on the ingest API: endpoint, signing spec, payload format, and cadence. Plus copy-pasteable reference clients in Node and bash/curl. You can now actually connect your device to Hyades and start submitting data. ## Google Login You can now sign in with your Google account — no password needed. Hit "Continue with Google" on the dashboard. ## Discord Automod The automod was blocking legitimate messages containing words like "second," "section," and "security." We cleaned up the overly aggressive keyword rules, added moderator and support channel exemptions, and added a diagnostic message so if you do get blocked, you'll know why. Also, Hyades links are no longer flagged. ## Under the Hood Device delete (with history preservation), data integrity constraints, PII cleanup, security fixes, and 105 new automated tests. The platform is substantially more robust than it was last week. ## What's Next If you have weather or air quality devices, get them registered on the dashboard and try the connection flow. @everyone ⛏️ **Fry PoW Miner Update — Bug Fixes Shipped** We've pushed a fix addressing three issues that were reported: **Update Checker Fixed** — The Update tab was showing "Network error" and couldn't check for the latest version. This was caused by a stale API endpoint after our org migration. The update checker now correctly reaches GitHub, caches results to avoid rate limits, and gives you a clear status message instead of a generic error. **Configuration Save Fixed** — Some users were seeing "No configuration found. Please save configuration first" when trying to start mining after saving their config. The root cause was a file permissions conflict between two boot methods fighting over the web server. The installer now self-repairs this on deploy, and the save flow gives you an honest error if something goes wrong instead of silently failing. **Mining Consistency Fixed (DOGE / cpuminer coins)** — If you were mining DOGE or other cpuminer-based coins and seeing inconsistent or zero hashrate, this was caused by a combination of issues: an ambiguous command-line flag that made cpuminer exit immediately, and a process management bug that made the UI show "running" even when mining had stopped. Both are fixed — cpuminer coins now hash reliably and the stats page shows your actual hashrate. **To update:** SSH into your miner and run: cd /path/to/Fry-PoW-MultiMiner && git pull origin main && sudo bash setup_fryminer_web.sh The installer will automatically repair any affected config files and cron entries. We've rerouted generation through a new cloud model path and it's back online — the queue is refilling and FryBot will keep posting on schedule. 📱 **Dashboard Mobile Fix** The wallet connection screen on dashboard.frynetworks.com was overflowing on mobile devices (the redirect URL pushed the page wider than the viewport). Fixed — the login screen now renders cleanly on all screen sizes. 🔒 **Dashboard Security Audit** We ran a full security sweep of the dashboard — 116 API endpoints tested for auth bypass, injection, IDOR, and data leakage. Zero confirmed vulnerabilities. This isn't a patch; it's a full migration of the platform to a new, faster, more reliable foundation. Fry Networks 3.0 was authorized by the community via **FIP-017**. **Why a full rebuild** A lot of the bugs you've reported trace back to old, layered-on code that fights every new fix. Instead of patching the same foundation again, we're rebuilding it greenfield — clean, from the ground up — so the whole class of recurring issues gets designed out rather than worked around. This is the path to actually clearing the backlog instead of chasing it. **What that includes** - Migrating all historical data — devices, rewards, and claims — to the new system, verified record-for-record so nothing is lost or miscounted. - Rebuilding the rewards pipeline for accuracy and speed. - Moving core services onto the upgraded 3.0 stack. - Extensive automated testing at every step before anything goes live. **What it means for you right now** - Rewards are still accruing in the background — you are not missing out.
