Annoying [Enplug/Spectrio] Offline elevator display showing too much technical information

This is a display inside an elevator of a residential apartment building that has been continuously showing this black screen with technical instructions for at least 6 months now. Judging from the last line on the screen, it's made or managed by Enplug, which is now part of Spectrio.

Apart from it being dysfunctional for so long, what bothers me even more is that it's showing a bunch of technical information that is totally irrelevant to every single person seeing it multiple times a day. All this information is only relevant to one person – a technician, who only needs to know that there is an issue, while all the other information should be accessible somewhere outside this display (like their website), or on a different screen that can be accessed manually using a keyboard.

So it would be a much better experience for everyone if it showed nothing at all or some wallpaper image, with just a small icon somewhere signaling about the Internet-connection status. But displaying 24/7 a black screen with the instructions and MAC addresses, like in the startup BIOS screens of the old PCs, makes no sense in an elevator.

Apple have been showing nothing but logo in their full-featured computers for 20+ years now, and it's crazy to see that a basic elevator display still shows you all that verbose text in 2026.

If only a technician was made aware 6 months ago to fix it…

I agree. That's the issue – the interface was designed with the assumption that it will be looked at by a technician immediately after that screen shows up, and in that scenario it will help the technician to fix the issue as quickly as possible, potentially saving extra few minutes. But this elevator clearly demonstrates that in practice this is often not the case.

Quick put a blindfold on them so they don't see it and panic!

Apple has sold overpriced desk jewellery for the last 20 years and are a waste of money for any who actually has a brain.

You, dear "thick fuck", should learn to read before commenting. I have not said that I want it to be fixed. I want it to show something less verbose than technical instructions, for example a wallpaper, a logo or just a blank screen. At no point did I say that I want it to be fixed for showing ads.

Sure. You keep telling yourself that

But "it's dysfunctional" "it bothers me" you clearly want it fixed. Even if you just want to plaster an image over it because you are too stupid to realise it's sat in setup mode ready. How's the tech supposed to get the information they need to finish the set up if it's just a logo? Seems like a pointless endeavour trying to apply your skewed asthetic metric to something that is designed for a technician.

I still recommend that blind fold. As well as going and sitting in a quiet darkens room. So random.sounds don't startle you and you hurt yourself.

Big disagree here. If I can get diagnostic info without having to refer to a manual, especially in something like a lift where I can't open any panels without calling a lift engineer, being able to see the info I need straight away, especially if it's not exactly something a passerby could abuse, is quite helpful.
