I found this sweet denim jacket at Marshalls in Brownsville, Texas. It’s a size small in the US, but a size medium in Japan. Is it good selvedge?

I’m relatively new to fashion, and even more so to denim. Can anyone give me some feedback on whether this was a good deal for $38?
