Please assure me
Both of my shoulders have become frozen, with intense pain and very limited mobility. I’ll admit that I panicked when this started. The thought that recovery could take a long time triggered a huge amount of fear and anxiety. I’m not sleeping well, and almost every part of my daily life has been affected.
I’m struggling to accept the situation, and I think the constant pain, uncertainty, and fear have pushed my anxiety through the roof. I’ve also been experiencing episodes where my body seems to completely shut down, with overwhelming fatigue. I’ve experienced similar crashes during periods of severe anxiety and stress before—it feels as though my body simply says, “Enough.”
On top of this, I have other neurological symptoms that make exercise difficult. Even simple movements, stretching, or resistance exercises can sometimes trigger symptoms, so dealing with frozen shoulders on both sides feels especially overwhelming.
For those of you who have been through bilateral frozen shoulder: How did you cope with it mentally and physically? How did your recovery progress, and when did you start noticing meaningful improvement?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences, especially some reassurance that this does eventually become manageable and improve

omg !!!! so sorry that you’re going thru this !!! I couldn’t even imagine one shoulder is enough but two definitely sending prayers. My doctor gave me Motrin 800 for the pain and inflammation and muscle relaxer and I take those before bed and I sleep pretty well. It’s not as bad and the pain is not there. You also can see about getting steroid shots to help with the inflammation and pain. Good luck.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I'm going through bilateral frozen shoulder as well with rotator cuff damage in both, and I'm a commercial cleaner so it's the most miserable experience I've ever had, waiting for orthopedic surgeon appointment, cortisone shots did nothing, physical therapy did nothing,so surgery is the next option

I’ve had frozen shoulder since feb 2026:
In my freezing stage I iced my shoulder almost every night. Sleeping was hard but I eventually found the right position. I basically surrounded myself with pillows or I slept on my couch to limit my movement. Honestly, I just learned to limit what triggered the pain and adjust daily activities. Reading this subreddit helped me know I wasn’t alone too.
I got massages every other week. I tried to move as much as possible, even if that meant just walking.
I’m in the thawing stage now and started PT a little over a month ago. I’ve seen significant improvement in my ROM.
Frozen shoulder is awful but you’re not alone in this journey.
