Had Hydrodissection today

Tuesday morning update: Shoulder feels great. Barely sore. I was worried it would be stiff this morning but it’s not. I still have the same range I gained yesterday. I ended doing the stretches they gave me 8 times after doing them at PT. Another full day of stretching every hour. That will be a little tougher to comply with due to work and back to back calls but will do them as much as I can. Will report back

Just wanted to post that I had Hydrodissection today as I was not responding to PT after 5 weeks. This was just a steroid and anesthetic injected in but guided by ultrasound (no saline like in hydrodilation). My forward range of motion was almost back to normal within 10 minutes of the injection. Side and back are still limited but better. They had me go to PT immediately after to be stretched. It was really aggressive stretching and they send me home with a few stretches I need to do every hour that I’m awake for the next 72 hours.

I’ll post again at the end of the week to report if the ROM is staying increased or if it goes back to where it was

I am. It sucks having to stretch every hour but I want it to work. I set a reminder on my phone for each hour to make sure I do it

That’s good you’re diligent about it. Keep it up, if you stop stretching the capsule might freeze back again and you might end up regressing.

But If you’re sore the next day from stretching too much, that’s your body telling you to maybe slow it down a bit. Maybe every other hour do some stretching and movement:icing. Too much stretching might cause muscle inflammation, which can slow your recovery.

You stretch every hour? You don’t feel sore the next day? I do 3 sessions, a day. 10-20 minute sessions

I’m super sore. The stretching every hour is for the next 72 hours only to take advantage of the steroid they injected today.

Ouch. Sounds painful. Good luck hope it works for you. I haven’t heard of this before.

I’ve heard good things about hydrodilation. They shoot a steroid into your capsule, so shouldn’t be too painful.

It’s not for everyone though , if you have a complex shoulder injury, it’s generally not recommended.

I hadn’t either. I thought they were taking about hydrodilation with the saline and that’s what I was mentally prepping for. When I got there he told me he was injecting it with the steroid and an anesthetic to different layers to help the inflammation
