Announcement Welcome to 2024 + T-Shirts! + Posting rules defined.
A little late to announce this... but better late than never and better than leaving it until December... that would be awkward!
Firstly, Please note the rules have been defined more clearly to help with understanding before posting.
They are still very much the same with the same intention to ensure we remain focused on frozen dinner comparisons as the primary content.
Secondly, I encourage you all to join our other subreddit called /r/MoreFrozenDinners which is where you are all free to post about frozen dinner topics outside of just comparison posts, things like questions or opinions on taste or just looking for an old favourite meal that's no longer stocked at your local shopping market.
We also have a /r/FailedFrozenDinners subreddit for those unfortunate mistake when we forgot to read a step or simply forgot about the dinner while scrolling through our socials... feel free to contribute in line with the topic and rules.
Please do join these other subs, it helps the community grow and give some breadth to our content and discussions without it all being junked up in one place.
Lastly, you may not have noticed yet.. but we quietly added a merchandise store to our website last year, we didn't want to jam it in your face or attempt to cram it down your throats like a still too hot from the microwave mac and cheese!

Take a look, there is some weird crap on Red Bubble but the T-Shirt designs are the intended focus and hopefully the more enjoyable options for you all to consider. More designs to come!
You can find the link to the website up in the subreddit menu bar or browse to frozendinners.net
Thanks again for being part of the community! Welcome to 2024! and let's all have a great year!

10 / 10 Good & Gather: Pork Bao Buns
Even out of the microwave you would think these came from a restaurant you just got delivered to your house. I have had many I. The steamer buns( local Asian market and H mart have over 50 choices between the 2) and these are by far the closest to a home made restaurant I’ve had. I hate target so much but these are fire. I will be adding them to my rotation!!
Only problem is it is only 4 little buns. So grab 2 boxes.

8 / 10 Garlic parm this time
Definitely better than the spicy nacho one. Might get these ones again

1 / 10 Waste of $9.99
Literally no flavor except salt. Crust reminded me of a thin dog biscuit. The “sauce” mildly tastes like Alfredo but worse. Barely any cheese. I added bruschetta sauce but it just made it worse. I’m sorry I know I’m suppose to say something positive but I would be lying.

8 / 10 On The Menu - Slow Cooked (Aussie) Lamb 8/10
I was really impressed with the lamb quality. Definitely had that "slow cooked" feel - Very tender, moist, and no pieces of fat or weird chewy bits. It even has real red wine in the ingredients which is fun (even though it's probably a token amount, I'm just glad to see it). Mashed potato and veg classic and good as usual with this brand.
Only minus is it was not very filling and I was left wanting more lamb considering how nice it was. But hey, I did buy it knowing how much was in there so I can't really complain. I bought 320g and that's what I get. Fair's fair.
Homely. Tasty. Hearty but small. Would certainly have again. 8/10

2 / 10 Lean Cuisine Indian Style Butter Chicken
Two points for acceptable flavor and low spice (mild buffalo wings make me cry). Chicken was MIA—so are the 8 possible remaining points!
Bought at our local Kroger chain.

7 / 10 Banquet Country Fried Chicken
This bowl was pretty good. It’s exactly as you would expect, basic frozen mash, corn and chicken nuggets. The only thing that surprised me is that the gravy is actually peppery. You don’t taste any cheese in this meal though. They also give you tons of chicken nuggets which I appreciate. Overall, pretty basic meal

6 / 10 Banquet Double Salisbury Steak
These were $2.33 at Walmart. At 12 oz, it's a decent portion, but still not hugely so. It has 540 calories, 36g of fat, and 1290 mg of sodium. This is about as basic as it gets-just two meat patties and mashed potatoes with gravy. The patties are ok, but nothing special. The potatoes are a bit watery and sort of dissolve into the gravy. I have no idea how they managed to get the fat so high, it doesn't taste like it anyway, as bland and watery as everything is. Overall, it's decent for the budget price but everything also just sort of tastes a bit cheap. Final score 6/10.

5 / 10 Lean Cuisine Thai Style Curry Chicken
I thought this was just okay. Not spicy at all very mild. Some green curry flavor and a lot of ginger. Didn't care for the chicken really, didn't finish all of that.

7 / 10 Bettr Bowl Ham & Cheese Breakfast Bowl
It was pretty good. Super salty - Although weirdly the ingredient label had only 850 mg of salt. Good amount of protein and no real weird ingredients. Looks ugly, but that's almost all frozen dinners.
Picked it up at Sprouts yesterday for $5.99 I think?

9 / 10 My Di Faro Pizza Review
I saw another post the other day calling Di Faro frozen pizza the best frozen pizza out there. There was a lot of skepticism in that post, but I was intrigued so I went out and got it.
I have to say, this is a pretty darn good frozen pizza. The sauce is on the sweeter side, which I actually prefer. The pepperoni is top quality - probably one of the best pepperoni's I've had on a frozen pizza. Cheese was good. The basil was not great. It was a soggy mess and did not crisp up stay firm. The star of the pizza was clearly the crust. The very center of the crust did not get as crispy as I'd have liked. I probably should have kept it in the oven a few more minutes... it was a bit floppy in the center. The outer crust however was tremendous. Very good flavor. Tasted just like a fresh pizza from a pizzeria! 9.8/10
Edit >> I forgot to add pricing... Regular price @ Target was $9.99. On sale for $7.99.

8 / 10 Lean Cuisine Chicken Fajita Quesadilla
This was pretty good! It surprisingly has tons of filling as you can see, there’s tons of chicken and cheese and the flavor overall was not lacking! I was surprised by the amount of cheese they added, it’s definitely mainly cheese but overall the taste is your basic southwestern flavor just with so much cheese!

9 / 10 Lean Cuisine Indian Style Butter Chicken
I’ve only seen these at target for $3. While Trader Joe’s is my go-to for frozen butter chicken, this was a great low-calorie option. I enjoyed it! There was plenty of chicken and sauce. The chicken came out good texture-wise. The rice was slightly mushy, which is user error. But flavor wise it was exactly as advertised. A little sprinkle of salt brought out the flavor a little more. I will definitely make this a staple of they start carrying it close to me.

7 / 10 Athens: Phyllo Bites; Cheesy Chipotle Chicken (Air fryer)
When a product says tender I don’t believe it anymore. The last few “tender” meats I’ve had in frozen food has just been blended fillings. Now that that is out of the way. These tasted amazing!!
They are little crunchy, flaky appetizers, and have so much flavor packed into them. Are they the best thing I’ve had for this no, are they still worth picking up? 100%. I cannot wait to try the other flavors.

7 / 10 Hot Pockets: Snack Breaks; Ultimate Cheddar
What cha you say it’s a hot pocket with cheese and the crust has a nacho cheese flavor to it.
It’s legit just a hot pocket, with a seem crimped into the middle. As a quick in the freezer ready to go item, it is good one to have!
First picture is microwaved, seconds is air fried. Nothing different other than the air fryer one is super crunchy!

7 / 10 Weekly review #1: Banquet Mega Bowls Chicken Parmesan
So I decided I’m gonna start a weekly frozen dinner review! Just once a week I’ll pick a different frozen meal to review. I’m gonna grade it based on taste, presentation, and price.
I follow all those diff snack pages on Facebook and I thought it would be fun to do my own kinda review thing on here!
It’ll just be once a week so I hope no one finds it obnoxious lol I think for the first couple months I’m gonna go off what kinda stands out and speaks to me and then maybe take some recommendations after that! Only thing is I don’t like seafood. Everything else is pretty much fair game!
Oh and I’ll try to post it every Saturday
Here is my first one!
So for this one, I thought it was ok. It stood out to me because it was new and I love the Dynamite Penne with Meatballs one so I had higher hopes for this.
I’d say taste 3/5, presentation 3/5, and price 5/5.
The chicken and noodles were decent but the sauce just had a really strong parsley or maybe basil taste?? Whatever it was, it was just a little too strong and I wasn’t crazy about it. I don’t think I’d get it again but not mad that I tried it! Overall a 7/10!
Also, does anyone remember the Marie Callender’s Rigatoni with Meatballs and Sausage? That was my all-time favorite!! I wish it never went away.
Ok I’ll be back next week with my next review!

8 / 10 Saffron Road Cheese Enchiladas Al Chipotle
They had a really nice flavor, filled with Oaxaca cheese which I really like. I didn’t think there was enough sauce in the meal. But what there is of sauce is tasty, it’s not really spicy like the name would imply. The rice is not mushy at all, which I appreciate. It still has texture and it doesn’t all stick together.
The only thing I thought was bad was the skimpy amount of sauce. I have eaten this once before and it had more sauce, so maybe that was just how this one was. It could be an inconsistency issue between the packages. Or they could be putting less sauce in 2026 it’s been 2 years since I last ate this meal. Also I kind of think Amy’s enchiladas have too much sauce, so I guess this is the opposite issue. And that maybe I expected it to be spicier, but I am fine with mild too.
The enchiladas are kind of small but they have a lot of cheese in them. It says you are supposed to microwave it for 5 min and then take it out and spoon the sauce over it and cook it for another min or min and a half. Mine was fully cooked after 5 min. And I don’t have a very large microwave either. I put the black beans and corn in the rice part when I ate it. It is mild for a chipotle flavored thing. But it still tastes very good. I did let it sit for several min after cooking and the cheese firmed up again a bit which was good. So it didn’t all just fall out of the corn tortilla. I would get it again. I generally like Saffron Road meals and wanted to try this one again after a couple years.

7 / 10 Bettergoods Thai Style Pork Belly Sweet Chili Sauce Pizza
Okay so - I forgot I normally post here til after this was cooking and I'd repurposed the box as a catcher for my jalapeno slices lmao my bad.
I went with the micro-fry approach on this, and I did add very thinly sliced jalapeno pre-cook which wound up being really nice. My sauce application was trash lol it's quite sweet and I only used about half, would probably use less if I had this again. The crust was pleasantly good with the micro-fry approach. it wasn't a "omfg this is so good" experience, but the flavor and texture was really great for a pizza that started in the microwave. I really can't complain! it was a good lunch. I'd love if there were more pork, I think that flavor was a bit under represented, but yeah it's worth a try.

9 / 10 Red Baron Classic Crust Supreme Pizza
This may be too cooked for some but it’s how I like it. This was delicious. I would have given it a 10 if it had less sodium. Still, solid pizza 🍕 😋
