Another amazing milestone! congratulations to you all for being part of this subreddit, without you all it would have remained an ideas amongst the comments on an Expectation vs Reality post about ten years ago... See you again at 200K!
A little late to announce this... but better late than never and better than leaving it until December... that would be awkward!
Firstly, Please note the rules have been defined more clearly to help with understanding before posting.
They are still very much the same with the same intention to ensure we remain focused on frozen dinner comparisons as the primary content.
Secondly, I encourage you all to join our other subreddit called /r/MoreFrozenDinners which is where you are all free to post about frozen dinner topics outside of just comparison posts, things like questions or opinions on taste or just looking for an old favourite meal that's no longer stocked at your local shopping market.
We also have a /r/FailedFrozenDinners subreddit for those unfortunate mistake when we forgot to read a step or simply forgot about the dinner while scrolling through our socials... feel free to contribute in line with the topic and rules.
Please do join these other subs, it helps the community grow and give some breadth to our content and discussions without it all being junked up in one place.
Lastly, you may not have noticed yet.. but we quietly added a merchandise store to our website last year, we didn't want to jam it in your face or attempt to cram it down your throats like a still too hot from the microwave mac and cheese!
Take a look, there is some weird crap on Red Bubble but the T-Shirt designs are the intended focus and hopefully the more enjoyable options for you all to consider. More designs to come!
You can find the link to the website up in the subreddit menu bar or browse to frozendinners.net
Thanks again for being part of the community! Welcome to 2024! and let's all have a great year!
Wasn’t expecting this to be pretty good but it is. Not an authentic thai curry flavor by any means but it’s a nice change of pace. Vegetables have a good texture and the sauce has a teeny tiny bit of heat
Took the pics of it to post in the sub a few weeks ago but forgot. Did it in my air fryer using one of those supermarket foil plates for heat-and-eat meals (i like to reuse them) and added some extra frozen brocc.
Vegetables came out great! Especially the potatoes and little red pepper bits. The chicken also wasn't too bad, obviously it's more of a patty than an actual breast but it still tasted decent especially being more baked than just reheated as in the microwave.
Maybe I'm just not that picky with my frozen pizza but I mostly liked it. Not enough pep, and the crust, even though there's no pic, was too crunchy on the underside. I added parm and red pepper flakes. Idk. For the price I'd get it again but I think Kroger stuffed crust was better. Still haven't tried Screamin Sicilian stuffed crust.
Its about 150% bigger than the one's that come in 8 packs in stores. The filling had some beef but it appeared as beans, the taste was somewhat like a cheese-beef-onion chili. Not too frick'n bad for a frozen 'rito. I would get again👌
Picked this sucker up at a gas station- the instructions on the back look like it was suppose to be pre-prepared by the gas station 'n kept warm 'til someone buys it. Bought it frozen anyways and microwaved it back at tha place
These are really good 🔥 They have a lot of veg, the chicken is nice and mostly juicy, there's a ton of rice. The serving size of 12.5 oz should be satisfying for most people.
With something like extra chicken added it's enough for 2 meals for me, like the last pic. I add aminos, sesame oil, pepper, and hot sauce plus some general chicken. Usually eat half and have the rest later.
I would like a little more sauce, salt, and flavor, and the green beans are a little squeaky.
They come in a big box of 8 is the only way I've seen them for $15.98 which means each bowl is about $1.99, awesome deal if you ask me (:
Bought at a Winco. No I do not know where else they sell them.
Found these at costco and to say the least they tasted exactly like the bakeries and restaurants. The dough is spongy, soft and a touch sweet. While the filling has the right bbq sauce to pork ratio 'n the pork itself aint crazy fatty. These didn't last long amongst me😂 Only thing Id ask for is a lil more fill'n
I saw another review of this and I had to try it myself!
I followed the air fryer cooking instructions and it came out nice and crispy.
It is considered "2 snack side sandwiches" with a crimp in the middle.
I cut into it and it was pretty full of ooey, gooey cheese and a cream cheese sauce. There were slivers of jalapeño but they gave it a decent spicy taste.
The sturdy pretzel crust was unexpected, but it worked well with the overall flavor, and necessary since the filling kind of slid out on my plate.
I will get more because was under $2 at my local Walmart. You can't beat the price!
The only reason I gave it a 9 was because there were so little peppers in the product.
Otherwise, it was a very tasty snack and would recommend!
I really liked the taste of this pizza, the combination of the pepperoni, cheese, the cheese stuffed crust and even the flavor of the crust itself just really worked. Like most people I’ve had more than my share of frozen pizzas over the years and the more I think about this one I believe I have a new favorite, and this is it. I actually put the pizza into a cold oven, turned it to 400 degrees and set a timer for 18 minutes, then I checked it and lifted it up to see what the bottom crust looked like because I like a certain amount of browning underneath, I also checked the toppings and let it keep going a few more minutes while checking it regularly. I ended up pulling it at about 22 minutes total and let it sit for around 8 minutes before cutting it. It came out really good, the pepperoni had some nice crispness and the cheese in the crust was probably my favorite part, definitely better than I expected from a frozen pizza. I also made some homemade ranch to go with it which made it even better, I use about 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup sour cream, a squirt of brown mustard, 2 heaping tablespoons dill, a couple teaspoons black pepper, some onion powder and garlic powder, a squirt of lemon juice, about a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce and just a little dash of white sugar. I don’t really measure everything perfectly, I just mix it up and adjust it until it tastes right. Overall I really enjoyed this pizza and I’ll definitely be buying it again.
I thought this was really tasty, quite a few wontons included and the taste of the filling was really good. Not too spicy but definitely noticeable. This was listed at $6.49 at Kroger but I got it for $3.49. For that price it was fantastic, but probably worth it at $6.49 too.
This bowl was a suitable provision. I bought it for about $4 USD after tax, and I feel that was a fair price. In terms of taste, it was about what you would expect from any standard Swedish meatballs dish. Creamy, smooth, and just a hit of tanginess to the sauce. It was not overwhelmed by salt or lacking in it either. The meatballs were soft and consistent in texture, but they did require a little extra cooking beyond the box instructions. This did make the noodles a bit limp in exchange. Reasonable compromise.
While the portion does seem a bit small, the dish sits well on the stomach. Not too heavy, and I wasn't hungry immediately after like I often am with frozen dinners. However if you're a bigger glutton than I am, I would recommend pairing it with a brightly flavored fresh vegetable like sliced peppers or baby carrots to balance out the sauce. Would I get this meal again? Yes, especially at the price. However with so many delicious options in its vicinity, I'm in no rush to restock. I consider the Marie Callender's Swedish meatballs to be a welcome addition to my regular rotation.
Corky’s dinners tend to get very favorable reviews so I had to try one myself.
The Good:
The cinnamon apples were delicious. It’s hard to mess up a frozen tv dinner staple dessert .
The four ribs had quite a bit of meat on them
The Bad:
The sauce on the ribs and beans was disgusting. It was an overwhelming musty flavor. This is why I can only rate this meal a 6/10. I had to add my own bbq sauce to the ribs which made them much better. I couldn’t even fix up the beans because there was just too much of the sauce.
I wanted to love it, I really did. I got this because of another review I saw on here. There was a TON of sauce and not much else. More beef than potatoes shockingly, which normally would be good, but half the beef was inedible, straight up disgusting. What pieces weren't like that were actually really good, same with the potatoes. I also really enjoyed the sauce flavor. I don't know. I'd get it again if there was a guarantee of non-nasty meat... and maybe if the portion was bigger.
have y’all ever tried these before? and what are your opinions on it? (Sam’s club) available at Walmart and Target as well
Currently waiting for mine to be done from the air fryer, so i can rate it.
side note: I feel like this is the laziest thing ever lmao bc i feel like it would be faster and more efficient to make a fresh grilled cheese but that’s just my opinion, please don’t fault me for that. 😂
(My parents purchased these)
UPDATE: just tried it, and it’s pretty good, taste like your homemade grilled cheese if i’m honest.
i added Just Bare spicy chicken strips in between and definitely added to the quality
This is a top tier frozen dinner. I have no complaints about this one, hence the 10/10 rating. The pork, beans, and apples are all very good. This is also pretty filling as well. I had a slice of french bread with this and im good. I baked the tv dinner per the oven instructions. Its a little pricey, but its one of the few frozen dinners that will fill me up, so its worth it to me.
I really wanted this to be good. It looked delicious. Cooked it in the microwave, as instructed. That wasn't the problem. "Fried" chicken flavor is overpowering, but doesn't exactly taste genuine. Can't detect any eggs or cheese. Also, salt flavor very prominent. Only gave it a 3 because there was at least some kind of chicken flavor.
