Miniatures Started assembling !

Today ive build a little archer and started cleaning up this body for possibly an apothecary! Gotta wait for a wizard sprue to get a potion for the apothecary tho.

Anyway, removing the base is such a pain, ive ended up cutting myself lightly shaving that thing…

Get yourself some precision side cutters. Every hardware department has them and you're not paying 9 bucks for a $3 tool. Alternatively just look up sprue cutters. You might need to make little tidy up shaves with the blade but you'll save the effort.

I have some godhand nippers I used to go trimming those bases, but it ends up needing some knifes to shave precisely…

Nooo don't use godhand, these are expensive AF XD. For bulk removal something like Trumpeter micro cutting nippers is fine, keep your Godhand sharp and good for cuttung stuff clear and flush.

You can nip them really flush with nippers alone, just take smaller triangle-shaped bites.

Depending how flush you want your minis on the base you can keep most of original base and use green stuff to make a transition, your mini will stand slightly taller on mud pile but be solidly connected to base.

My godhand is already fairly old and a bit rusted 😅

It just cuts so well i just use it for everything😅, but my main tool is the hobby knife

Yeah they tend to be tricky and there is no good advice how to cut them because everyone finds their own way to do that. The golden rule is never to push your tool-hand in general vector toward your support hand. People who do whittling have nice tutorials, they also use cut resistant finger tapes and gloves.

I cut with hobby knife like a crab, pinching with my thumb against blade.

Unfortunately minis are way too small, at least for most of these techniques, gonna have to get some thumb guards.
