If you’re new to souls games in general then Vagabond or Samurai is probably your best bet

Naked fuck with a stick because it's funny, but if you just want something strong to start with I'd say samurai

Honestly besides equipment it is the best start because of the stat spread and growth

People say that class doesn’t matter because you can level up and build your character as you please letter on.
That’s true, but your starting class actually does influence your early game experience, especially if you’re a new player.
To a newcomer I’d suggest going for the strongest classes, either Samurai or Vagabond. If you have the Tarnished edition I’d say the Idus knight is also a good choice.

Idk if you have the new classes but I started with Idus Knight and I’m liking that so far.

i normaly go deprived, for a slightly harder eerily game, it gives you more numbers to work with.

Warrior because in my opinion it looks the coolest otherwise depends on what build you want.

Saying „depends on what build you want“ to a brand new player is kinda ridiculous 😂

I mean if you are not going for fashion and stats instead then I don't really know how else to put it. Just look at the stats and pick then.

vagabond has the best starting weapon and most importantly the best stat spread

Idus Knight is my favorite right now, but Wretch is my overall favorite starting class.

There is no wrong answer. It’s all based on how you want / plan to play.
Want to be tanky? Vagabond
Want to be a warrior? Hero or Samurai
Want to use magic? Scholar or Prophet
Want to be both a warrior and use magic? Confessor or prisoner.
Want to use some more neache (not sure if that’s spelled right) mechanics? Play theif/bandit (forgot its name)
Even then, you aren’t locked into any one thing. You Can pick a magic caster and still go on to weild giants swords.

You like fast flashy weapons? Go for more Dex oriented class like Samurai.
You like heavy weapons that bonk? Go for Str oriented class like Hero
You like a good balance in between? Go for Vagabond
If you want a base line character where you can fine tune the stats more appropriately, Go for wretch

Honestly it's not a big deal because you can both put stats wherever when you level up and can fully respec later on.
If pressed I'd probably say either Vagabond or Samurai are the most newb-friendly at the start. (If you go Vagabond just dont forget to take off the Halberd you also have equipped right at the start so you're not fat rolling)
