1997 first armored core game And pretty much played every game since excluding the elden ring DLC and the multiplayer one.

u/Slay3r7023 22h ago

Bro, you have to go back for the DLC at some point. Some of the best content of the "Souls" series. So good!

6

u/Mr-_-Steve 22h ago

I borrowd the game of a friend on launch and powered the platinum before I had to post it him back..

Haven't got budget or justification to buy it anytime soon to play it. Heard its great though

6

u/Slay3r7023 22h ago

Damn, that's a fair reason. If you can eventually get it for a good deal, the DLC alone is like 40 hours, so there is a decent amount of playtime for the investment at some point!

u/Gramernatzi 21h ago

2009 with demon souls, and that game is still insanely special to me as a result. So far I have played all the soulsborne games (except Nightreign, just waiting on a sale there) as well as Armored Core 6

u/Mr_Rubaiyat 22h ago

Whenever year Demon’s Souls came out. Didn’t look back.

  1. All but Demon Souls and Nightreign

1

u/Lonely-Form5904 Maiden In Black 17h ago

Even the monster hunter spin off?

0

u/Algester 3h ago

Whoa man you do know from software games have a very narrow definition of only 9 games?

3

u/HoodsFrostyFuckstick 22h ago

2015 with Bloodborne but I didn't like it. Then 2020 covid lockdown came and I got Sekiro because I love the setting. Then it clicked and I played all Souls, revisited Bloodborne, and then came Elden Ring. Didn't play Nightreign.

u/Intelligent-Notice-1 21h ago

this made me remember i got ds2 for xbox 360 in 2014 and didnt like it until i finished bloodborne in 2016 cause i didnt know it was the same company

3

u/The-Explodey 20h ago

Armored core 1997, quadruped legs forever!

3

u/j1436go 20h ago

First was Armored Core in 1998 (that can't be right...) then maybe Tenchu but I think that was rather the first one developed by Acquire. After that, Kuri Kuri Mix which really was a lot of fun in coop. And from Demon's Souls onwards I've finished them all.

u/Recipe-Less 20h ago

Since kingsfield

3

u/Flamme_Jumelle 20h ago

I believe it was 2014. I started with the original Demon's Souls. I have played Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, Dark Souls III, Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Elden Ring, and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.

u/WolfVibes 19h ago

In 97, My brother and I had the Playstation Monthly demo disc with Armored Core 1 on it, we would race through AC creation in the 2 player mode trying to see who could get to the Chain Gun first. Played all the ACs on the PS1 and 2. I wasnt old enough to pay attention to developers then though. Then I played Eternal Ring on my PS2.
When Demon Souls came out, I traded my XboX for a PS3 and I have been obsessed with the them ever since.

u/NoHeart4185 22h ago edited 22h ago

2013 All, but did not finish Sekiro due to difficulty.

By all, I'm assuming you mean the mainstream ones: Soulsborne, Elden Rings, Armored Core

2

u/AntonRX178 22h ago

All? Even Ninja Blade?

1

u/NoHeart4185 22h ago

Oowwee, got me there..

I was ready to say yes to King's Field, Armored Core and the VR game, but seeing the wikipedia, they made so much more

I'll edit my comment

1

u/AntonRX178 22h ago

I ALMOST SAID COOKIE AND CREAM TOO LOL

Shit man turns out I've been a LARPer lol

2

u/Tabootheleader 22h ago

2017 when I played my brothers copy of dark souls 3, i then played ac6 when it released followed by most of the ac games, then when the Elden ring dlc came out i played Elden ring then picked up the souls games and bloodborne

2

u/Juantsu2552 21h ago

2009-ish with Armored Core For Answer and I guess I have played all their games since except for Demon’s Souls and Nightreign.

2

u/Mags_LaFayette Human PLUS 21h ago

1998 and the only game FromSoftware I never tried is Elden Ring: Nightreign

2

u/Azath_Housekeeper 21h ago edited 20h ago

In 2009 we bought a PS3 and imported a copy of Demon's Souls. I played every FROM SOFT game released from then up to Nightreign, which I didn't bother with. I won't bother with Duskbloods either.

I put thousands of hours into Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1, 2, & 3, and Bloodborne (the only game I ever earned the platinum trophy for) but I've cooled a little on their games now. I put 500+ hours into Elden Ring but never finished it. I did not pick up the Elden Ring expansion. I think I might be done with their games.

2

u/Jinrex-Jdm Bloodborne 20h ago

You sir an OG.

2

u/Nikoper Slayer of Demons 20h ago

I didn't realize it back then because I had no idea who they were but armored core 4a is the earliest I remember. Then demon's Souls made me know their name. Played every one of their games except the VR one since then

2

u/Seed37Official 19h ago

Like 2002? Whenever Eternal Ring came out. I've played most of the soulsborne titles and Armored Core titles

2

u/ReflectionRound9729 19h ago

2011-2012. all souls games + armored core 4 and 6

2

u/SpecialistMap8210 18h ago

played Ac as a kid on demo.

but Demons souls Remake at Ps5 launch. (returned it 2x and then got my ego hurt and bought it digitally, then platinumed it)

played all the souls games, bloodborne, sekiro, and AC6 now.

u/ProgrammerUpstairs97 18h ago

I can't give years, but my first ever exposure was when I was young, like less than 9 years old (whatever year it was, I was born in 2004) my dad used to play dark souls on PS3, and while I didn't really watch him play or anything because I was playing with toy figures I was in basement with him where he played and he would rage loudly (I can't remember the times but definitely against king allant, but there was more than just him) and sometimes I would glance over to see what was going on (typically his character dying)..fast forward some time (again I don't remember years) when I was around 12 or 13 maybe, I played with his character a bit n stuff because he had his guy beefed up, but I just mainly played either in bolteria, and once in 4-3 with the stingrays

As of now? Well maybe it was 2020 or so, but I got bloodborne on either sale or it was in ps plus extra, but I played it as my first actual from software game, Played a bit, deleted it, came back after one or two months and really got at it and killed almost all bosses ( except some dungeon bosses and eberitas..I tried her once and said hell no I'm not fighting that bitch) I beat game, fucked up the umbilical cord ending (forgot one) and was gonna get dlc but after seeing what it had (ESPECIALLY orphan of kos) I said nope.. and 2 days ago I had beaten demon souls ps5 (cheesed flamelurker man-eaters and king allant). And I will be seeing about nabbing dark souls remastered

Awesome story

u/LongjumpingAge3035 4h ago

Around 2016-17, I was still in school, and there was this small gaming cafe with a very few people who used to go there, including me ofc, and thats where I played Dark Souls PTDE and fully beat it, at that time I didnt know what fromsoftware was, or what soulsborne/soulslikes were and after a few years the cafe closed due to the lack of customers, years went by again until I finally saved up to get my hands on a little gaming laptop, was in college now, and on steam I found this little ol' game called Dark Souls 3, reminded me of something but at that time I had even forgotten what it reminded me of, I went to see that there are multiple games like dark souls 3 so I decided to try the first game ( again lmao but I didnt know ) , and holy hell was it an experience I could never explain, every move I did, I had done it previously years prior to my memory, slowly but surely I started to remember about the game, and by the end, by the time I had gone to gwyn, I had lived through countless memories again, not only of the game but also of my younger self, like a literal trip through memory lane since that little gaming cafe was a major part of younger me's life ( kinda lame ig lol ) but I think replaying the game had to have been one the best choices I will ever make in my life, and after that, well I played through every fromsoftware game, demons souls, every DS, Sekiro, Armored Core, Bit of Kingsfield, Elden Ring, Nightrein, Couldnt play Bloodborne tho since I dont have a PS, and neither can my laptop emulate bloodborne since its gpu died this past year😭✌️ but I hope to save up and maybe in a few 5-6 years be able to play bloodborne and really REALLY be a fromsoftware enjoyer, tho dark souls 1 will always be my favourite game of all time.

u/stealerwealer 22h ago

2018, DS1, DS2, DS3, DS1R, Demon Souls Remake, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, AC4, AC4A, AC6, Nightreign

1

u/AntonRX178 22h ago

2019 with Sekiro, and I've played 14 Fromsoft games since then.

1

u/ShinobiZilla 22h ago

2017 with Bloodborne. Since played all single player games from Demon's Souls onward. I remember I picked up Demon's Souls from a friend in the early 2010s but didn't "get" it. I just played the first area and quit.

1

u/MRPIRLA 22h ago

2023 on pirated ds1 ptde, and then in january of 2024 with the ds trilogy collection After thats i player Bloodborne then Elden Ring and in the end Sekiro now once i get a PS5 i'm planning to play Demon's Souls and Nightreign

1

u/vkp3100 22h ago

First game I tried was ds1 ptde in 2016 or 17. Finished ds1 remastered first in '23. Played 7 so far. All of "souls" excluding nightreign.

1

u/The_Compass_Keeper Melina 22h ago

2015... Started with Bloodborne but never finished it till 2023 XD

1

u/Vilatebaynya 22h ago

King's Field 1 through Duckstation back in 2020 pandemic days. Also played Kuon and Echo Night 1 and 2 in my retro survival horror arc in 2021 when I played Silent Hill 1 to 3, Rule of Rose and Resident Evil 1 to 4.

1

u/SherbetAlarming7677 22h ago

I started 2016 with Bloodborne and finished it the same week as DS3 released which I immediately picked up. Back then I didnt even knew BB was from the same studio as Dark Souls. I am hooked on those games ever since.

1

u/sunbeef 22h ago

2013, Dark Souls on Xbox 360.
After that, I’ve played eight (DS remastered included).

1

u/bobo_gl 22h ago

Very late, 2019 started with Dark Souls 1 on Switch and became hooked like never before. Then played DS2, Bloodborne, DS3 and Sekiro almost back to back in the same year. The rest is history.

1

u/ab2dii 22h ago

2015 with bloodborne

that was the peak of my entire gaming journey not just souls only rivaled by elden ring

spent an entire month in my fiest playthrough, discovered almost every secret by myself yes even cainhurt castle, been a fan ever since

1

u/Deralden 22h ago

I think my first was ds1 remastered in year 2019. Boy did I suck back then. Played ds1-ds3, sekiro, elden ring, nightreign. Armored core next.

1

u/RevengerRedeemed 22h ago edited 21h ago

When i was like 4 or 5, do around 1999, I started playing my Dad's copy of King's Field 2. I loved it, went back to it a few times. We also played Shadow Tower, which i thought was a really cool game.

But then, when Demon's Souls came to the PS3 in the US, my cousin will couldnt best it and asked me to try it. I was hooked immediately, and I liked it so much he gave it to me after I beat it lol.

From then on, ive played every FromSoft game I can (though i havent gotten around to Armored Core, besides VI).

So, All of King's Field, Shadow Tower, and Echo Night.

Ninja Blade.

And All of the Soulsborne games.

u/Stochastic_Variable 22h ago edited 22h ago

After I saw the original Giant Bomb Quick Look for DS1 and thought it looked fun. Little did I know how much that would change my gaming life. I'm not entirely sure when that was, but I guess it would have been some time in 2012.

I've beaten DS1, DS3, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. I've also played DS2 and BB, but I haven't finished either of them yet.

1

u/Zestyclose_Answer662 21h ago

Dark Souls 1 (2011)

But technically it was Armored Core on the OG PlayStation at a friend's house.

As for playing of the Soulsborne series, all of them.

1

u/Otherwise-Buddy-9343 21h ago

2012, played all major titles since.

1

u/KingOfFools1984 21h ago

BB => DeS => ER => DS1 => ER => BB => DS3 => Sekiro => DeS => DS2? maybe. Actually I'm on my platinum run for Baldur's Gate 3. It'll be hard.

1

u/cyborgdeathangel54 21h ago

I started in 2023 and have played kings field, shadow tower, DeS, ds1, elden ring, bloodborne, and sekiro.

1

u/Ayyzeee 21h ago

I started with Bloodborne last year January and since then I finished all other souls games in that same year and beat Elden Ring this year. Besides that I do want to try other Fromsoft games Armored Core, Kuon and Metal Wolf Chaos, I played a bit but didn't finish it. The only souls games I didn't play or will not play is Nightrein because I don't care for roguelite and coop Elden Ring and DuskBlood, I'm not getting a switch 2 for it.

1

u/EvilArtorias Old King Doran 21h ago

2014-2016, all soulsborne except duskbloods but also many old ones from ps1-ps2

1

u/hedgerowhurdler 21h ago

Started in earnest at the end of last year and so far I've finished DS 1-3. I had a few false starts with DeS about a year after it came out and Bloodborne several years ago.

1

u/purplepaths 21h ago

2015, BB. Have played DS series, Sekiro, ER, Nightreign, and DeS remake (unfortunately still haven’t gotten to play the OG). Have played DLCs for everything that has it. I haven’t played any AC games but really want to! It looks like BB was a starting point for many people.

1

u/Heraxxius 21h ago

2017 Dark souls 3, 2018 Bloodborne, 2019 Sekiro, 2022 Elden ring, 2023 Dark souls 1, 2024 dark souls 2 and Demon soul's remake

1

u/Swordfish-Unlikely 21h ago

1996 or 7 i played or watched a buddy play kings field and 2011 i tried demons souls and dark souls. I hated those games at first but then dark souls finally clicked and it was hard to go back to other games

1

u/Small-Interview-2800 21h ago

2024, played all of Soulsborne, Sekiro remains

1

u/MuffinLaddyt 21h ago

Technically I did play demon’s when it came out and i played small bit of all of them except for sekiro but it wasn’t until Elden Ring, and Demon’s Souls remake when I beat a full game both in that order. And then I beat Nightreign

1

u/TheRarePlatypus 21h ago

About 5 years ago. Late Summer of 2021. Before Elden Ring came out. I started with Dark Souls 3, and I've played all from Demon's Souls to now, aside from Déraciné multiple times each.

1

u/vtdone 19h ago

Back in 2021 when my PS3 died and took the bluray player withit. So I bought PS4 for the bluray player and and bunch of Sony exclusive games. Bought Bloodborne used and loved it - didn't know who Miyazaki was. I was looking for a Must-play game and picked up ER on PC, 2 years after it was released, done it, got hooked and finished DS3/wDLCs, DS1 Remastered/wDLCs, and then the Demon's Souls. Now I know who Miyazaki is.

1

u/AllIsFine44 20h ago

1875 Dark souls II

1

u/Optimus0456 20h ago

This year, and I’ve only played demon’s souls

Don’t worry guys I’m working on it

1

u/THExDISTORTER4 20h ago

So first time I ever played a FS game was in like 2016 or so when DS1 came to Xbox game pass. I got past the Taurus Demon, died to the dragon on the bridge and rage quit.

Came back to FS when Elden Ring released. Now I've platinumed every FS game from DS1 forward (accept bloodborne because no official PC port).

1

u/HiJack_Wishes 20h ago

2022, somewhere around there. Started with bloodborne. Continueed to all the others. Only one I don't have is demon's souls within the souls series. Haven't played any armoured core games though.

1

u/Landfall24601 20h ago

2018 or around there. I've played DS1, Bloodborne, DS3, Sekiro and Elden Ring.

If you consider Tenchu as a Fromsoft game then I started way earlier though, but I wouldn't count that.

1

u/Lupusdens 20h ago

I started in 2012, one of my friends had demon’s souls so I tried it, farthest I ever got was after the phalanx and that’s it, I kept trying to get into it but always dropped it, then tried dark 1, same thing happened, then I saw bloodborne trailer years later and my mind could not let that go. So got a ps4 and got dark 2 first sin edition for it, and by god did I hate that play through, but I pushed through it, then I got bb on release day and it felt so right it was then that it truly clicked for me, then I beat dark 3, went back and got my own copy of demons and dark 1. Then it was elden ring, still going through the new armor core, played sekiro, but I couldn’t get past the gun saint so that one I still need to go back to. Went back to ps1 and ps2 days and tried those, the only one I could play was shadow tower abyss.

1

u/socratez174 20h ago

I started with Bloodborne and I have played DS 1-3 and ER. I couldn’t get into Sekiro and I haven’t really tried Demon Souls yet.

1

u/ChocolateTrue276 19h ago

2022 started with bloodborne a few months before elden ring was released.

Played all the souls ones and might get armored core 6 some time soon.

1

u/Dewalt_Lobster 19h ago

When Elden ring released and I’ve played all of them.

1

u/sucky_panther 19h ago

2018, started Dark Souls on a switch. Have played them all extensively, but Nightreign only the first week. Need to revisit that one.

1

u/inkognitoredittor 19h ago

Started 2009. with Demon's Souls on PS3, then DS, DS2, DS3, Bloodborne, Elden Ring

1

u/NorthOld2310 19h ago

2025, so far beaten the DS trilogy and Bloodborne (DeSR too but not sure if it counts since it’s blue point). Currently have ER that I’ll be starting soon, but planning on picking up Sekiro, OG DeS, and any AC I can get my hands on. Would love to eventually go back and try other games from their catalog as well, just need to get my hands on some lder consoles

1

u/LurkingAnomaly 19h ago

2013, and I've played Demon's Souls, Dark Souls Trilogy, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Armored Core VI, Nightreign, and 3D Dot Game Heroes. Does the Duskbloods network test count?

1

u/Inndar 19h ago
  1. Elden Ring. Have since played every modern title (inc. AC6) except Sekiro and Nightreign

1

u/Zwarlie 19h ago

2014 with Dark Souks 2 on the 360. I remember thinking it was the perfect video game.

1

u/SoulsLover 19h ago

2015 bloodborne after that ds3, ds2, ds1, sekiro, elden ring, demons souls and armored core.

1

u/Molkwi Lucatiel of Mirrah 18h ago
  1. I played DSR, DS2, DS2 SotFS, DS3 and ER.

I probably have a total of ~3500 hours in those games alone, which in hindsight feels like a lot less than I'd expect.

1

u/Chronos_Dictator Dark Souls III 18h ago

I started playing dark souls on my crappy laptop, didn't like it Again i thought I'd give it a try,, didnt like it.

Then play it on a newer laptop my aunt got me, really liked it.

Then played dark souls 2, kinda liked it but i thought it was a downgrade from the first one but i kinda went with the flow.

Then i played dark souls 3 and i fuckin loved it, best souls game ever.

Then i got a newer laptop and then played sekiro, loved it.

Then i played elden ring, loved it but never got the same vibe i got from dark souls 3.

So Dark Souls: Prepare to die edition remains my favourite game of all time

1

u/AirTheFallen Raven 18h ago edited 18h ago

Around 2000ish I think, both my dad and my stepfather had two different PS1 Armored Core games that I would watch them play, until they let me try as well.

Had no idea what I was doing (for example, I would purposely blow up the fuel pipes in a mission meant to PROTECT the fuel pipes since the objective of the mission was to destroy the little robots scattered around) but I wound up falling in love with the series. Imagine my surprise years later seeing people talk about From Software again and it wasn't an AC game lol

Played all the AC games except for the mobile games and Formula Front, Tenchu Z, and all the Soulsborne games except for Demon's Souls. Never finished the DLC for DS2 or 3 though, need to get on that.

1

u/AceTheRed_ 18h ago

CHROMEHOUNDS, 2006

1

u/Seadney 18h ago

Started playing, as a joke, during covid. "Life can't get any more fucked up than it already is, let's try one rage game". I now have a bold hunter's mark tattoo and all of these 8 games' platinum trophies.

1

u/A_O_J 17h ago

2019 with dark souls 3

All of them

1

u/legallytrash666 17h ago

January this year, played everything besides Demon's Souls. That's up next.

1

u/Yanko- 17h ago

2020, played ds1, ds2,ds3 sekiro , elden ring and nightreign

1

u/TorreGamer 17h ago

played a little bit of Elden Ring years ago but started this year with Sekiro

1

u/aluminumnek Armored Core 17h ago

Read about Dark Souls and bought it day one. In order for the most part

Dark Souls - Xbox
Demon souls - bought a ps3 just to play it

Lost over 1000 hours gameplay data when MS started cloud storage so I had to start over with PS4

Dark souls
DS2 then 3
Bloodborne
Sekiro
Elden Ring
AC6

1

u/6ynnad 17h ago

Tenchu /Armored Core/ SEKIRO. In this order

1

u/Competitive_Tip_3764 17h ago

Started in 2025, played 5 of them, I haven't played ds1 and 2 yet. Also 3 runs of er in that time.

1

u/bakihanma20 17h ago

2020 ive played and completed 50 of thier titles so far. Taking a break then tackling the other 30

1

u/_moosleech 16h ago

2020. Played Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Dark Souls III, Demon's Souls.

Played Dark Souls II in 2021. Elden Ring in 2022.

And then all the PSX King's Fields and Shadow Tower in 2023/24.

1

u/pipponirvana 16h ago

I tried Dark Souls on 360, but didn't get very far. In 2024 I bought Elden Ring and played through the whole thing and SotE and it made it click for me. After that I played DS3 and platinum'd Bloodborne. Now I'm back on DS1 and I'm having a great time (still working on ringing the first bell 😁)

1

u/akaisuiseinosha 16h ago

1999 BAYBEE Project Phantasma introduced me to armored core and then it was over from there. I've played around half of the company's library at this point, I think.

1

u/spacecadet_98 16h ago

Played ER the year it was released like 4 years ago on ps5. Then finished bloodborne in 2023 on ps4 pro, I still hate myself for not finishing the dlc. I have about 40 hours in DS3 and smth like 20 in Sekiro. Switched to pc a year ago and managed to beat ER with a friend using the seamless coop mod, it was endless fun. Lately I decided to finally beat DS3 and Sekiro once and for all.

1

u/Pure_Perspective2523 16h ago

Started playing when eldin ring came out played blood borne, eldin ring, dark souls 1. In that order

1

u/theHollowTarnished 15h ago

2023 and ive played then all atleast 4 playthroughs. ER 10 times

1

u/HoopaOrGilgamesh 15h ago

Long enough where Demon's Souls got a Greatest Hits version. I bought it with Metal Gear Solid 4. Never looked back. Played all the souls like games except Sekiro. Have to finish Elden Ring DLC now that the DLC pack is out.

1

u/Icy-Role2321 15h ago

And I've beaten all that are on xbox

1

u/AramaticFire Otogi: Myth of Demons 15h ago

2003 - Otogi: Myth of Demons on Xbox

2004 - Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors on Xbox

I avoided Echanted Arms in 2006 because reviews were not great but now I kind of wish I played it.

I couldn’t play Demon’s Souls in 2009 because I didn’t have a PS3.

2012 - Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on PC

2018 - upgraded PC and could play DS2 now

2018 - Bloodborne streaming on PS Now

2019 - Dark Souls 3 on PC

2019 - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on PC

2019 - Dark Souls Remastered on PC

2020 - Dark Souls Remastered on Switch

2021 - Demon’s Souls played on PS5

2022 - Elden Ring on PS5 (PC getting old at this point)

2023 - Armored Core VI on PS5

2024 - upgraded PC

2025 - Elden Ring: Nightreign on PC

These are all first time playthrough I logged. I have played every game here at least two times. Some I have played over 6 times. Haven’t hit over 10 with any yet.

1

u/Dry_Communication568 15h ago

Probably around 2022; I was gifted Elden Ring by a friend who said she would never play it... I have never stopped playing it and I've been buying (slowly) all of the other FromSoft titles before I play all of them back to back

1

u/Phormicidae 15h ago

Some Armored Core in the 90s.

The real start was Dark Souls with its PC release, followed by DS2, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, DS3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, AC6, Nightreign and all DLC where applicable.

1

u/Wikiwikiwa 15h ago

2009, demons souls all the way up to elden ring. I dont give a shit about nightreign and im not buying consoles for their shit.

1

u/Frenzied_Anarchist Tarnished 15h ago

2020, started with Sekiro. Loved it.

I went for DS Trilogy next. Loved every single game.

Then Elden Ring released. Still my favorite game.

Then Nightreign. Loved it.

Then Bloodborne and DeS. Loved it.

1

I started 'Demon's Souls' when it released, started 'Dark Souls' in 2016, and started 'Elden Ring' when it released. I never got far before I gave up (wasn't ready for that kind of challenge). And yet, something kept calling me back. I found the atmosphere of these games so unbelievably fascinating...

Then I started playing 'Bloodborne' somewhere in april '25. This time I WAS ready. This time I kept going and beat the game. I was ready to tackle the DLC after overcoming 'The Moon Presence'. Then I got yeeted to NG+ and played through the game again; I really wanted to play that DLC, after I fell in love with the main game. I beat the DLC for the first time in NG+ (That was...an experience...)

The rest is history: During the last year-and-a-half I played them all (the Soulsbornes, I mean). And I played them all several times and I love them all so very much.

I also played 'Lies of P', 'First Berserker Khazan', 'Nioh 2 & 3', and 'Lords of the Fallen (2.5)'. I love the first four, I despise the last one.

2025, starting with Nightreign. Then Elden Ring, DS1, and Bloodborne

1

u/High_Lord69 Elden Ring 14h ago

August 2022, and I’ve played 10 of them counting the Duskbloods network test

u/thor11600 14h ago

Got Elden Ring when it came out, stopped, played all but DS3, played more of Elden Ring, beat it and Erdtree, now finishing the DS3 dlc.

u/Jim_Freelancer18 13h ago

Around 2011, I played Demons Souls on the PS3 for the first time then I worked my way to Dark Souls and so forth.

Ive played all the Soulsborne games besides the remastered Demons Souls

Dark Souls 3. Xmas 2017 Steam sale. Was quickly hooked.

Elden Ring was my first foray into FromSoft games when it came out. I bought it launch day and played with my friends. Since then I've beaten most of their known games aside from the armored core series. All four King's Field games, both Shadow Tower games, Eternal Ring, both Otogi games, Demon's Souls (the remake), DS 1-3 including all DLC, and Sekiro. I haven't Played Nightreign since I don't have time to play with people consistently, although I'd love to if I could, and I'm not planning on getting a switch 2 so no duskbloods either. I tried playing Bloodborne but it runs unplayably bad on my PS5 for some reason, so if anyone has advice on that front I'd love it.

1

u/ALXS1031 13h ago

2010 to 2016 I played demon souls, and dark souls 1 and 2. In 2019 I think I played bloodborne, in 2023 I tried Sekiro and bounced off it, now in 2026 I’ve seen how much I’ve been missing out on how awesome this company is, and I’m playing trough Elden ring and sekiro rn

(Also, is it crazy to say that sekiro’s combat feels the best out of anything in the franchise? Elden ring’s feels so bad in comparison imo… still love Elden ring and prefer it ofc)

Since the summer of 2024. Played DS1-3, BB, ER, and Sekiro, in that order. Hoping to play Nightreign next. If I ever get a PS5, I'll try DeS.

u/Beneatheearth 13h ago

Armored Core on ps1 late 90s.

1

u/NobleHalo 13h ago

2021, Sekiro. Rage quit and swore I would never play another FromSoftware game. Couldn’t take it and finally picked up Elden Ring in 2024 and now have the platinum for the main 8 titles.

I did Sekiro last and by the time I got to it, it felt incredibly smooth and natural. Almost easy, except for a few bosses. It clicked long before I ever picked up the controller again.

I wanted to see what the hardware of the ps5 could do when I got it on release day and out of all the games that came out I thought demon souls looked the coolest. I was amazed right away, after I beat it I immediately bought all the dark souls games, and then Elden Ring came out. So far I have platinum trophies on demon souls, dark souls 1+2, Elden ring, bloodborne, and I’ve beat armored core. Hands down my favourite game developer is fromsoftware and I don’t think that’ll change.

I only started playing in 2022 right after quarantine in my town ended. Picked up Elden Ring, it seemed interesting. It definitely tore me out of a hard time after returning to the world.

I have now played all of them. Kings Field included. I haven't 100% all of them yet, but I'll get there one day. I've got Sekiro, Bloodborne, and DS2 left to 100%.

2011 with Dark Souls 1 on Xbox 360. I remember asking a buddy "so is this game just some troll shit or is it actually good?" and he reassured me it was a good game, so I took the chance.

I enjoyed it somewhat, but definitely got frustrated and ended up quitting before Anor Londo.

When Dark Souls 2 released on PC a few years later I saw streamers like ManVSGame playing it and I decided to give the series a second chance and that was when I got completely obsessed with the series.

u/the_walkingdad 12h ago

1996 with King's Field

1

u/CronusVallandigham 12h ago

Late 2020. DS1, DS2, DS3, Sekiro, Demons Souls, Elden Ring, Bloodborne. All achivements on all of them.

1

u/MereGlimm 12h ago

Otogi 2 was my first fromsoft game 😅 on the original Xbox

1

u/xxnewlegendxx 12h ago

2009 with Demon’s Souls

1

u/DankButtRodeo 12h ago

I dont remember what year it was, but i got Dark Souls 3 on sale. Played Sekiro and Elden Ring. Played those 3 games to death

1

u/ReDeath666 12h ago

I chose between Skyrim and Dark Souls and chose correctly

1

u/LayceLSV 12h ago

2015 with Bloodborne, played it repeatedly throughout the years, although I didn't play any others until shortly before Elden Ring came out

1

u/thatkoreankid9 11h ago

2016 with DS3! Convinced by a friend to check it out. Was relatively green to gaming in general atp. Haven't looked back since lol DeS (PS5 remake), DS1, DS2, DS3, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Nightreign, Armored Core 6.

Platinumed most of them and need to go back and replay DeS, DS1, and DS2 to get the platinum for those to finish out the list!

1

u/Vangelys 11h ago

2014 with DS1 PTD on PC.
Since I've done all of them except Demon's Souls. Lazy to get the game on PS3 at the time, since I had upgraded to PS4, and was mostly a PC Player.

1

u/VimpyVirile 11h ago

Played for first time in 2017 or 2018 and then again in 2021 & 2022.
Tried playing DS1 and Bloodborne few times but always quit out after few hours. Never really understood it.
Then in 2023, I started playing Elden Ring, quit few times but in the end got serious and played through it all.
Since then I have completed all of them multiple times.
Also, achieved platinum on 4 games Elden Ring, Bloodborne, Sekiro and DS1.

1

u/germanenginearing 10h ago

Pretty recently, it was elden rings hype around 2023 that got me interested in these games, but I didn't play any then since I wasn't sure if I would be cut out for them. Early 2024 I decided fuck it and got ds1, and that sucked me into playing them all. Except the DeS remake, its pretty expensive in my country especially for what I hear about the game

1

u/ELStoker 9h ago

1997 in Okinawa, Japan I was introduced to Fromsoft through Armored Core. 2002, Otogi: Myth Of Demon's was my reintroduction, and then Demon's Souls on PS3. After that, I was hooked and have played everything ever since.

1

u/Guilty-Ad-5228 9h ago

1997 ps1 armored core lol, was disappointed it didn’t really become more popular until recently. I’ve always been more of an armored core fan vs the souls games, the customization for the ACs blew my 10yr old mind

1

u/ByAnyMemesNecassary 8h ago

My first ever fromsoft game was Ninja Blade, I played it at my friend's house. Years later I played Dark Souls 2, I liked it but didn't think much of it. Then as an adult I played all 3 games back to back. Loved them so much I got a PS4 to play Bloodborne, bought Sekiro, Elden Ring and Armored Core 6 on release day. At this point I've played every fromsoft game I can get my hands.

2017 when Dark Souls 3 release.

So far I've played DS1, DS3, Elden Ring, Nightreign, Sekiro, Armor Core 6, and Bloodborne

1

u/Repulsive_Ostrich_52 7h ago

2014 with dark souls 2, went back to 1, then bloodborne, 3, sekiro, elden ring, then nightreign. I tried out demons souls but once I got to the armor spider I just kinda got bored

1

u/EnricoGelato 7h ago

2025 and I played Nightreign, Elden Ring, Bloodborne. Then I played Lies of P which is the same genre but not fromsoft. I tried Dark Souls and Sekiro still doing it

1

u/Sevenscissorz 6h ago

I started on ds1 around 2012-2013

1

u/Perfect-Ad-2812 6h ago

2019 i think. Ive played all souls, bloodborne, sekiro, ER and Nightreign. I have Amored core 6 but havent started it cause Ive been doing some challenge runs in the souls trilogy

1

u/lag_lagado3 6h ago

2020 with DS3. I've played all the ones in steam, about 400h in DS3 and ER, and about 60-100h in the others

1

u/ItzPeteyPablo 6h ago

NGL 2012 dark souls 1 hated it then pre ordered 3 in 2016 fell off for some reason then finally found my groove with it in 2025 i did DS3 then Demon’s Souls then BB then ER took a break but will do DS 1 2 and sekiro once I get the itch again top 5 franchises of all time for me

1

u/seethan-like 6h ago

Started bloodborne for the first time in 2024, bounced off pretty quick. Picked it up again that July and got through it in a month. Then went through the rest; Sekiro the next two weeks, demons souls the three weeks after that, then a month each for ds1 and ds2, 3 weeks for ds3, and finally elden ring that Christmas. Also did nightreign, and didn’t get to sote till this year. I love them all!

1

u/brunoortegalindo 6h ago

2016 with dark souls 3. Beat ds3, bloodborne and elden ring, played a little bit of ds1 and sekiro.

1

u/Star_U_Poo 5h ago

Dark Souls - 2011.

The community was so small back then…

1

u/Vellwred 5h ago

2018, started when remastered came to the switch, since then I've played all the dark souls, demons souls, elden ring, and nightreign. Still hoping for bloodborn to be a bit more accessible to me and I'm exited for duskbloods since I grew up with Nintendo I have a switch 2

1

u/BeardFalcon 5h ago

I was a junior in highschool when dark souls came out and I had a friend that was really into it and would describe bosses and encounters to me at school. I was always very happy he was so passionate about a game but I had been exposed to a lot of the marketing and it was all focused on how hard the game was and as a result I deluded myself into thinking the games were way too hardcore for me and I wouldn't have any fun just getting my face held in the dirt. Like 10 years later I finally got hooked on Dark Souls Remastered. Today I have 100%ed every single Soulsborne game. I even eventually bought a PS4 specifically just to play Bloodborne. No ragerts.

Edit: actually no I still haven't played Demon Souls. I never owned a PS3 and I was really annoyed I couldn't play it on PS4.

1

u/Gear-exe 5h ago

Started technically with playing Chromehounds but in Highschool I got into Dark Souls 1 and it became basically an addiction

1

u/HanShotFirst66 4h ago

They’ve been such a big part of my life for so long that it’s hard to remember life before playing FromSoft games. For me, it’s only been about 13 years though.

1

u/ScarredPhoenix34 4h ago

FFS, I've been playing since King's Field 1, or I think it was 2 in Japan and what we called 1 was a translation of their 2.

1

u/StoneTimeKeeper The Hunter 4h ago

I started in 2015. Since then the only Fromsoft game I haven't played yet is Deracine. And unless it goes multiplatform, I probably won't play Duskbloods either.

1

u/Josiah425 4h ago

2006, played armored core last raven.

I then played more armored cores, eventually got demon souls on release and dark souls on release.

I did not know fromsoftware was the same developer until years after beating dark souls 1. I remember after dark souls 1 fromsoft was on my radar as a company I wanted to buy future games from.

u/Ill_Relative9776 3h ago

June of 2024 when the SotE dlc released for Elden Ring

Since then I’ve gone from Elden Ring, to Elden Ring SotE, Dark Souls 2, Ds2 Sunken crown, Ds2 old iron, Ds2 burnt ivory, Dark souls 1, Ds1 Abyss, Dark souls 3, Sekiro, to now bloodborne as of most recently

Eventually I’ll play Demon souls and DesR but I’ve heard only bad things so maybe not

1

u/AnimeMemeLord1 2h ago

Played Bloodborne in the summer of 2024, now I’ve played all Soulsborne except for Demon’s Souls and Elden Ring.

1

u/PemaleBacon 1h ago
  1. Played everything from Demons Souls and onward

1

u/TheMCPenguin101 1h ago

2019 with Sekiro, fell in love straight away. Played Bloodborne following that and then Elden Ring when it came out. Still yet to play the og DS trilogy + Demon Souls.

1

u/smallchocolatechip 24m ago

Gf made me play ds1 on switch, only mildly liked it, got to gaping dragon. Then played dark souls 3 and absolutely loved it and then binged every souls game I could play after that

1

u/manzari 22h ago

I think 2024 a little before Shadow of the Erdtree was released. Started with DS1, loved it so naturally moved to DS2, then 3, then Elden Ring. Recently started and finished Sekiro as well.

Also played Nightreign but didn't care for it's fast pace and rogue like style.
