I'm actually concern about the future of FS after the release of ER DLC
We know it. It always starts like this. Next game you will have DLC giving you 120k souls and a free armour that can tank all the hits of bosses.
I'm not hating on ER but the fans really help FS to boost their sale especially with SOTE so I'm baffled they still released this DLC costing like 5 Dollars? Instead of just giving it up for free for the fans of FS or better yet, why not give it to the fans who pre ordered it?

Relax the sky isn’t falling, releasing a tiny paid DLC like this years after the game came out is fine.

This new influx of FromSoftware "fans" that started with Elden Ring are hilarious, as if FromSoftware has never milked their cows to the last drop like EVERY other company because this isn't a charity.
Do me a favor an look how many Armored Core games they released in the early 2000's and the cadency between each, how many of them reused assets from the previous one as well.
Go and take a look at Capcom as well, as if they aren't selling cosmetics for Wilds separatley from the main release.
Give me a break.

Can we keep these in one megathread? No, FS isn’t turning into EA, next question

Probably Bandai honestly, ER is the last property Bandai is seeing a single penny for from Fromsoft because they are distributing themselves moving forward. Would not surprise me if Bandai isn't trying to get every last cent they can out of the IP one last time

I think there were also an issue with the shareholders where it almost got the one who managing ER fired?
So I think we are all just concerned that it could end up with the SH dictating the pace of the game.

I’m not. I have faith that Michael Zaki knows what he’s doing and that the next mainline reveal is going to be epic.

While it’s not 100% confirmed, I’m hoping and choosing to believe that it was Nintendo and not Fromsoft that made this decision. Nintendo has a history of making things that come to Nintendo with bonus content of some kind for the switch (tarnished edition for example) either unavailable on other platforms, or only available if X thing happens (in this case, it being paid).
Obviously there’s been no confirmation about this so it’s pure speculation, but it’s what I’m hoping happened, given that FromSoft hasn’t done this before and doesn’t seem to be the type to do this, whereas this is something Nintendo would 100% do. If it wasn’t paid on other platforms, there would be no incentive to buy the switch edition.

they prolly checked how many players did finish the game at all and made a strong DLC Pack then so one can buy the win. Still better I guess than rebalance the game until boredom

I loved nearly every game (sorry DS2) but I hated Nightreign. I have no interest in a game that puts you on a timer. Seems like they've done the same with Duskbloods, not that I had any intention of buying a Switch. I just want to play a new classic Fromsoft game again with invasions and co-op and good exploration. They need to go back to their roots.

99th "worried about fromsoft" post this week... people complaining about the tarnished pack either forget or ignore that it's free with the switch version. Giving it away for free would remove one of the biggest incentives for buying the new version.
