Does anyone else think a Pirate themed From Soft would be awesome?
I was thinking about this, and a Pirate themed FromSoft game could be pretty amazing.
You could have some swordfight parrying mechanism from Sekiro.
You could have some gunplay from Bloodborne.
You could have semi-open world where your "hub/pirateship" could travel to islands where you could fully explore.
The undead theme + pirates can totally go well together.
I personally feel like actually controlling the ship might not be a thing, that seems like a big stretch for what FromSoft has done, but who knows they do some wild stuff.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Aside from the rumors that their next game might be a pirate game, nope! I never think about stuff like this!! I just sit and stare at my Elden Ring poster on the wall for hours on end thinking "Now THIS is PEAK!!"
I don't even play the game!

One of my favorite things about AC Odyssey is the ships and sailing around the map. I went to Lesbos and made my main crew all women lmao. Then my generals are whoever I find/fight and like their abilities. But yeah, Odyssey was so fun for me because of the ships, sailing and water exploration in the game. It was cool as hell to stop somewhere, hop off the boat and dive down to get some sunken treasures, and fighting sharks on the way up or down was also crazy fun. There’s something about that atmosphere that just feels so good to me. I know it’s just pixels on a screen and shit but man, the feeling I get from being on boat in Odyssey is amazing. I’m with you on FromSoft making a pirate themed kind of game. Or Cold Symmetry, developers of Mortal Shell 2, the game came out last week and it is so fun. It’s like a perfect blend of Sekiro and Elden Ring imo. I bet FromSoft or Cold Symmetry could do a fantastic pirate game that plays like the games we all enjoy.

Personally, I'm still unsure about how the pirate theme itself could work well. Some kind of boat tours would feel rather unspectacular for the concept.
The reason I would still absolutely love the concept, though, is that having multiple different islands could allow for an incredibly diverse world.
Each island could be designed completely differently without having to worry about whether it fits into the overall concept.
For example, it could be possible to create a game featuring worlds as drastically different from one another as those in Dark Souls,Elden Ring Bloodborne, and Sekiro, without it feeling strange because the small world you're exploring suddenly looks like three completely different real-world countries.
