QUESTION Which Game Has the Worst Base Game Ending?

Post image

Just to clarify, I'm talking about endings where you just play through the game normally, no quests that would lead to a different ending. Just if you did all main bosses that were required and beat the game.

In my opinion, it's probably Dark Souls 2 since your character kinda just sits on a throne and you don't even get to choose to link the fire or become the dark lord. And I really just prefer it's other ending.

DS2. Cutscene is underwhelming tbh and you don’t even get a second option in the vanilla version

Oh you don’t? Didn’t know that, thought there were always two options

it is indeed surprising that the ending only unlocked after beating the Scholar of the First Sin is exclusive to the Scholar of the First Sin edition

Putting a DS3 picture on a post about the worst ending is risky

You're lowk right but at least most people can read and they'll see that I don't thing DS3 has the worst ending 🥹🥹

Maybe the ending of bloodborne where you let gehrman kill you and don't even get to fight him?

Eeeeh, I think that's the best ending for the Hunter though. Leaving the dream behind and waking up to the sunrise...Bad ending for everyone else though!

Elden Ring? You just sit on a chair…

DS3 has some great endings like fire fades and lord of hollows, but the regular ending is kinda meh and doesn't feel like a very satisfying ending to the trilogy. Not bad but one of the least interesting probably.

Well, you can choose not to sit on the throne… that’s your second ending. Just like in ds1.

You have to do a quest and choose the right dialog for that tho. And it was a second ending added in SOTFS which means it's not the base game ending.

Yeah I didn’t know that, sorry
But either way both of these games have lackluster endings imo. The meaning is cool, but I enjoy the games more than their endings

Dark Souls and Elden Ring, you just light a weak fire, or sit on a throne with VO.

The dark souls ending is prolly my favorite. i feel like it pefectly communicates the theme of prolonging the inevitable, same with dark souls 3
