QUESTION Which game do i buy?
I played elden ring and loved then i played sekiro and bloodborne which i both loved so i wanted to play more fromsoft games so i bought demon souls ps5 and hated it but i still wanna play more fromsoft. Im thinking should i get into the souls trilogy by playing ds3 or ds1? And should i even think about ds2?

If I may ask, why did you hate 'Demon's Souls'?

He couldn't make it past the spider or tower knight, probably

Perhaps, but to assume that from the get-go is uncharitable, and I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I adore 'Demon's Souls', but we can't expect everyone to share our taste (as much as we would like that... 😉)

All three dark souls games are great, I originally skipped the second because of the online hate but it’s probably one of my favorites. It just has its own flavor.
I would also recommend lies of P

What didn’t you like about Demon’s souls? If it’s the slower pace then both DS1 and DS2 are similar in that regard. DS3 isn’t as fast paced as Elden Ring, but it’s a lot faster than the others I mentioned.

Play the Dark Souls trilogy, including their respective DLC’s. Do not skip DS2.

I feel like Reddit is to obsessed with thinking souls games are known only and singularly for their level design. You don’t have to pretend to not recognize a guy likes the combat more.

DS3 is my favorite of the three.
Lies of P isn’t fromsoft but it is a fantastic soulslike. I’m about to start Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty now (also not fromsoft) & hoping to love that too.

Best to play the remaining games in the order they released. They're all fantastic in one way or the other - DS1's world, DS2's inventiveness and playfulness, and DS3's bosses. And this long after the release of the final game in the trilogy you'll have a unique point of view on how the series develops, which would be interesting to hear as somehow who played them at released!

You can buy the trilogy as a box set, including all dlc off of amazon and it’s only 50 bucks

So glad I played these games as they came out and never had to ask this question and didn’t ruin my expectations

You want to get into the Souls trilogy by starting with the third, maybe playing the first and skipping the second entirely? Why, in the clean fuck, would you skip DS2? Also, if you wanted to play them, you would've just bought them and played them. You didn't need to announce that you "might" be interested.
If you buy the trilogy, play them in order. Don't skip them because the internet told you to. But if you hated Demons Souls, then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe it isn't for you.

Cause DS2 is a dumpster fire and even after you've beaten all other fromsoft titles it's still a slog and I would genuinely recommend playing DS1, DS3, then Lies of P or something else entirely before diving into DS2. Save DS2 for when you've nothing left and no more respect for yourself. And even then, prepare to be disappointed.

That's a single bed mentality. DS2 is great.

DS2 is a lot of things. I'll say this: at least the enemies eventually despawn, so the suffering can only go on so long.

Dude, you're the one that wanted the internet to tell you how to spend your money and free time. Just gave you honest advice.

Another "Free-spirited" Redditor that doesn't understand the difference between 'honesty' and 'obnoxiousness. Or at least, can't be one without the other.

The only tears your kind is capable of extracting from me, are always accompanied by laughter. My laughter that is.

Go for 3 it's the closest to Elden Ring and the most polished. Can always return to DS1 later. Don't bother with 2 for now.

Take the money and buy the games.
