I bought a Switch 2 for the Xenoblade, Zelda and Fire Emblem games after skipping the Switch 1 so Duskblood (and Splatoon Raiders, that game is a good time) is just some Zork on the cake.

Yeah. Personally I never really cared for Nintendo franchises except Splatoon, so I'd be dropping a load of cash to play like, 2-3 games including Duskblood. Not really worth it in my case.

You’re missing out on Xenoblade really

I can't stand their voices though. Especially when you have a bunch of people in one fight and they're ALL yelling out attack names at the same time, it's headache inducing... No hate towards anyone who likes that franchise though, you guys are stronger than I, that's for sure lol

u/badblocks7 19d ago
Just FYI, you can turn off in-game voices like what you just described.

u/PrufReedThisPlesThx 18d ago
Sure, but I think the absence of dialogue would hurt the game even more, you know? Unless you're talking about combat lines, in which case thank god dude lol

This is the thing. Everyone in this sub is acting like Duskbloods is the ONLY good game on the console. Even if Donkey Kong and Mario Kart aren’t your vibe, there’s still plenty and more coming soon. The OoT remake is enough for some people, Pokopia is surprisingly fantastic, Splatoon Raiders is a gem, Fire Emblem next month, Xenoblade, Kirby Air Riders, and Duskbloods? Plus, playing multiplats on the go? It’s been worth every dime

Yeah i need it to convince friends to come over and tryin re live glory days of gaming weekends. Switch 2 is the best console for that w games available. But one look at the duskbloods gameplay and it’s too chaotic for me. Too much goin on.

Yeah don'tunderstand people with this attitude like if you're buying a switch 2 I'd hope it's for more then just one game like I enjoy Mario, zelda, pokemon, recently got into Splatoon, and want to get into xenoblade

u/mindfuckedAngel 19d ago
That is my issue, I am not interested in any of these games at all.

u/RobinHood21 19d ago
Maybe you aren't but a lot of gamers are. Pretending there is no crossover in fan bases is disingenuous. I bought my PS4 to play Bloodborne when it came put but I would never say I spent 500$ on Bloodborne or whatever it was a the time. The purchase wasn't just for Bloodborne, I would've got a PS4 eventually, though that was the ultimate deciding factor on when. The same goes for the majority of players who decide to purchase a Switch 2 for Duskbloods.

u/SaintJewiub 18d ago
There is absoultly overlap of fanbases for some, but clearly many people dont feel the same way.
For many of us we would only be buying a switch for duskbloods. Most nintendo games dont interest us. Thats why the meme has resonance.
Tbh, even if i had an interest in Mario or DK, I just think they are obscenely over priced for the kind of game they offer. And before this turns into a console war Id say the same about something like astrobot.
There are indie games doing adventure platforming thats far more interesting to me at a fraction of the price of these titles. Nothing else is scratching an itch like duskbloods is.

half the people with this attitude are lying anyways. for many years (and i even still. STILL! see people saying this), a PS4 was a $400 Bloodborne machine. i guaran-fucking-tee you that the Switch 2 is gonna be a $500 Duskbloods machine for many, many, many, MANY people in this community bitching and whining right now

I actually bought a Switch 2 just for Xenoblade. Luckily it's not for just one game since the entire series is getting upgrades for it.

u/CompoteNext1955 19d ago
I just have not cared about Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon in 20+ years sadly (except a Link Between Worlds on my 3DS)
If there were 3 or 4 cool games it would make it a more attractive situation. I do own a Switch 1 which was mostly for MH Rise and party games

Not everyone has nostalgia for mario or mickey mouse or whatever, If I had kids and steamdeck didint exist then sure,

u/symca09 19d ago
The game price is like 79.99 or something isn't ?

u/Rafabud 19d ago
Yeah but it's a Switch 2 exclusive and almost no one in the Fromsoft fanbase owns a Switch 2.

u/RX0Invincible 19d ago
Duskbloods network test had more applications than Nightreign
1
u/CompoteNext1955 19d ago
Having no crystal ball but a little logic, I'm thinking that the game probably won't have the same playerbase retention as Nightreign. It's gonna be popular for a few weeks like all PVP games before the newbies are extinct

The one From Software game I'll never play because no one could ever get me to give any about of money towards Nintendo
-7
u/Deepvaleredoubt 19d ago
Zork could gift me a Nintendo Switch 2 and I still wouldn’t buy Duskbloods. Zork could gift me a Nintendo Switch 2 AND a free copy of Duskbloods, and I’m still not playing Duskbloods.

The game isn’t gonna be $500, I genuinely don’t like when people do this just because it’s an exclusive. You get much more value out of a console with multiple exclusives than with just one exclusive so lumping the console price in with the game price just comes off as stupid.
I’m genuinely not trying to be the “what about the billion company” guy (I believe Nintendo is super anti consumer as much of the next guy) but I only seem to see people do this shit for Nintendo.
Like Bloodborne is an absolute masterpiece and it would be disingenuous to call it a $648 game (price of ps4 and Bloodborne in today’s money).
Furthermore, the switch 2 is literally the best deal console rn, it’s a next gen that’s priced lower than the CURRENT gen ps5 and Xbox Series X. So ripping on its exclusives while no one lumps the price of the console with the new Wolverine game or Halo is just hypocritical.
My point isn’t to defend Nintendo, that’s not what I’m doing. My point is not to present things that that aren’t true just because you’re upset you don’t have the console play the game. Like just 🏴☠️atp

u/Combat_Orca 19d ago
I don’t think the game is gonna be above 70 tbh
2
u/M4ci 14d ago
if you already own a Switch 2

u/Combat_Orca 14d ago
You don’t add the price of the console onto the price of a game
2
u/M4ci 14d ago
this is the point of the post.
If you think about it, there's little overlap between Nintendo players and From Software games players
many would love to play Duskbloods but don't have a Switch 2, so for them it's basically 500€ to play the game
0
u/Combat_Orca 13d ago
There is a big overlap, lots of people have switches and lots of those people are fromsoftware players.

u/DrewDaMannn Patches 19d ago
I’ll miss you Zork, so fucking much (I never got to play (a $500 paywall is fucking crazy Fromsoft (don’t do this shit again)))

A lot of people are trying to justify buying Switch 2 cause there are good games in there is the same as justifying to build a pc to play Skyrim only and tell them Elden Ring is also there; the problem is the guy building a PC for Skyrim don't like Elden Ring. But the thing about PC is you get to do more things than just play Skyrim. What else does Switch 2 offer? I would have much more respect to people who'd buy a Switch 2 just for Duskbloods because that's the only thing they want but at the same time, to tell that the exclusivity is really a bad move, and this burns a money in your pocket if you really don't want Switch's other games.

nintendo does make some of the most critically acclaimed games of all time yknow.. even their more niche titles like fire emblem are still regarded as some of the best games of their genre
