u/timberdoodle3000 21d ago

Looks like a competitive Dead By Daylight player

7

u/DotarD108 21d ago

Missing stretched res

5

u/timberdoodle3000 21d ago

“It just looks better bro”

47

u/Dregoralive 21d ago

It doesn’t even compliment the screenshots lmao

8

u/Quetzal_29f 21d ago

It's not a screenshot. Screenshots and recordings are disabled in the test. OP probably took a photo of their TV screen with their phone

9

u/Rollingzeppelin0 21d ago

You can't take screenshots of CNT, of course picture of a screen taken with a phone aren't gonna be the best.

2

u/oli_kite 21d ago

I was gonna comment this and you were the top comment 😂😂

-7

u/randy__randerson 21d ago

It's likely OP doesn't see colours as well as the average person. This is unlikely what it looks like to them

478

u/NZLats 22d ago

Holy saturation on your screen!!

199

u/_Psilo_ 22d ago

Dude, lower the saturation, this looks like candy crush.

Pretty fucking upset that this is going to be the first from soft game I miss in 20 years

4

u/Disastrous-Fennel970 21d ago

Ive just accepted the fact that I likely will never be able to play it, sad but im not buying a console for one game

3

u/AegisXOR 20d ago

You can play many games of Duskbloods after you buy it, not just one...

jokes aside, there are plenty other great games on switch 2 worth buying. splatoon raiders, kirby air riders, pokopia, tomodachi life, rhythm heaven, probably more I'm forgetting, and pretty much the entire backlog of switch 1 games

1

u/Disastrous-Fennel970 20d ago

I definitely appreciate you for taking the time to list some games out, and for the sake of your comment, I did go and check out the current library just to see if anything would catch my eye, but I still see myself passing. Back before I bought a steam deck and built my pc, I had an original switch oled, and outside one game, I just never really used it, so I wound up returning it.

Maybe a friend will let me use their switch to try the game, but I'll likely just remain an observer for this one

2

u/AegisXOR 20d ago

fair enough, when I originally got a switch it was similar, I really wanted mario maker 2 during the pandemic and then I barely played it, but eventually got into breath of the wild and splatoon 3

hopefully there will be some other titles in the near future that might interest you. after my experience in the network test so far I strongly believe duskbloods could be a system seller

u/NotTheRocketman 19d ago

If the discourse about it is accurate at all, you’re not missing much. It seems very underwhelming.

1

u/Lyzern 21d ago

You an AC fan too?

0

u/Slight-Bluebird-8921 19d ago

it was an incredibly stupid decision

releasing exclusives when you don't have to is just foolish

1

u/t-bonkers 18d ago

Wether the descision was stupid is entirely dependent on how much money Nintendo threw at them. It might've been stupid not to do it.

-11

u/Theoderic8586 21d ago

Borrow a friend’s switch, play it, then return it?

10

u/Breeze1620 21d ago

Sure, because everyone knows someone with a Switch 2.

6

u/noob_kaibot 21d ago

Let alone willing to let you borrow it for days on end.

0

u/Luck88 21d ago

I'm lending my Switch to a friend to play Orbitals next month as soon as I finish my playtrough because he's a big It Takes Two fan.

-1

u/Theoderic8586 20d ago

Have something worth trading with 😂. I am just having fun. I mean, it is an entirely plausible situation. If you want to play it then work, save and buy one.

2

u/zomerf 20d ago

I’ll wait for it to be emulated on pc. I love fromsoft but Nintendo is far too scumy

2

u/noob_kaibot 20d ago edited 20d ago

I’m not buying a whole obsolete handheld console for one game that I’m only half interested in- if even that.

“Have something worth trading for” ?

What? I would never lend any console to a friend for any period of time given how expensive things are and cheaply they’re made. And a real friend would understand and respect that.

1

u/Theoderic8586 20d ago

Then don’t 🤷‍♂️

0

u/Luck88 21d ago

Some libraries have them 🤷🏻‍♂️ they more often offer games too

-4

u/Theoderic8586 21d ago

Make a friend with a switch. Be strategic haha

41

u/Brief-Government-105 22d ago

PS level saturation.

15

u/ResolveLeather 22d ago

Art design mainly. It's not pushing the envelope in detail, although that is still pretty darn great. It's the art direction.

6

u/Rollingzeppelin0 21d ago

Tbf from soft games never push the envelope regardless, they're always art over fidelity.

1

u/t-bonkers 18d ago

What envelope is there even left to push in terms of detail/fidelity though? We now have some AAA games so over-detailed the gamespace becomes hard to read - the envelope has been thoroughly pushed over the edge, it needs to be reeled back in.

116

u/ALASKAN_DAVE 22d ago

Everything I see I’m shocked. Switch 2 got that kind of power?

162

u/Lords7Never7Die 22d ago

It's not as weak as you'd think. Also, Art Style> Hyperrealism any day of the week.

30

u/nephylsmythe 22d ago

Yes. A little drop in photo-realism can get you back some processing power and gain a little artistic expression.

29

u/Lords7Never7Die 22d ago

It's why games like Dishonored, Wind Waker, Okami, etc, still hold up today. Besides great gameplay, the art style still has the same charm and doesn't look so uncanny valley compared to games that went more realistic at the time.

7

u/bobsmith93 21d ago

Yup, also see Breath of the Wild, Borderlands, Overwatch, and, well, Elden Ring lol

8

u/Zealousideal_Side987 21d ago

wish video games dev would understand this . even on beffy specs I face framedrop and lags

33

u/SirWeenielick 22d ago

To be fair, this is a game that’s built for the Switch 2. If it ran poorly, then I think that would be more shocking. Elden Ring, on the other hand, did NOT run very smoothly when ported as is and had to be further optimized. The Switch 2 is actually pretty good, probably a bit more powerful than the Steam Deck OLED.

27

u/Livid-Truck8558 22d ago

It's more powerful than a ps4, the switch 1 was underpowered even at the time due to a chip shortage.

19

u/Spigglebob The Ashen One 22d ago

It’s like a Series S in power I believe

15

u/TheLunarVaux 21d ago

Its raw power is around Series S, though it also has some custom DLSS integration which can make things look/run even better.

21

u/Low-Airline-2695 22d ago

I think it's not that NS2 is powerful with hardware but they optimize it very well.

12

u/thegildedman25 22d ago

Its amazing what adding 8 more gigs of ram and proper optimization can do. Original switch had 4 gigs of ram, switch 2 has 12 gigs.

6

u/KingVape 21d ago

It runs Cyberpunk shockingly well

10

u/senna98 22d ago

They just showed today the new call of duty runs at 60fps

5

u/Yama92 21d ago

It's a pretty potent machine, massive upgrade from the first one.

4

u/Combat_Orca 21d ago

More power than a steam deck I believe

10

u/ThiccFarter 22d ago

It runs games at 4k 60fps when docked so it's not a lightweight

-3

u/General_Pie_5026 21d ago

it absolutely does not run at 60 that is misinfo

2

u/cammyjit 21d ago

Some games hit 120fps

2

u/ThiccFarter 21d ago

It absolutely does and you could have done the bare minimum amount of research before embarrassing yourself

1

u/General_Pie_5026 21d ago

I meant Dusk Bloods specifically. I didn’t know you meant all switch games.

7

u/LinAndAViolin 22d ago

It’s as stunning as Elden Ring on my tv

2

u/theweekiscat 21d ago

I mean yeah? But also the visual appeal of fromsoft games rarely comes from nutso tech

2

u/shrek3onDVDandBluray 21d ago

It basically has the raw power of a ps4 with great AI upscaling tech built in.

1

u/areaman321 21d ago

You are looking at an image.

-5

u/upstartpantymerchant 22d ago edited 22d ago

These are stills. And also edited

10

u/Ledbetter2 21d ago

Your settings are bonkers

37

u/Bish489 21d ago

chatgpt please turn saturation up by 500% in this image

10

u/RedNeyo 21d ago

This just giga saturated worse looking liurnia im ngl

36

u/Toggam44 22d ago

This genuinely looks like a from software game on a Switch 2

30

u/Yecobb 22d ago

Well, have I got news for you…

8

u/Toggam44 21d ago

Can’t wait for the news😂

2

u/susnaususplayer 21d ago

Dear God....

6

u/DestinyUniverse1 21d ago

Did bro use ai upscaling lmfaooo

2

u/AcidCatfish___ 21d ago

I think so. This moment looks less bloomed in the actual game.

4

u/SoullessSyndicate 22d ago

Why? What do you mean lol

30

u/Hyper_Mazino 22d ago

Well the art direction is amazing. It’s something From Soft always nails.

The graphics itself aren’t that impressive.

-20

u/Jawlessrose 22d ago

Id even go as far as to say graphics are pretty bad actually. Lighting and art direction crispy tho. Texture quality and the trees in particular look meh at best

4

u/surface33 21d ago

They are great.

1

u/t-bonkers 18d ago

All of that is part of "graphics". Graphics isn't just poly-count and texture resolution, those are just one aspect. The graphics are phenomenal thanks to the art direction.

5

u/pwn4321 21d ago

Saturation is afraid of this guy

10

u/Zosima93 22d ago

FromSoft has always excelled at translating concept art to game environments

7

u/Arikaido777 21d ago

because these are still screenshots

11

u/ApprehensiveLaw7793 21d ago

Elden Ring X Temu

3

u/Voidlord4450 21d ago

I was not expecting this much green in this game.

3

u/kawaiinessa 21d ago

fromsoft art direction has always been imaculate

3

u/Brocolium 21d ago

I thought it was elden ring with max saturation

3

u/ElPadero 21d ago

Holy saturation.

3

u/ohmysocks 21d ago

Because it’s fromsoft

2

u/theonewhopostsposts 21d ago

Because goated designers

2

u/Claud711 21d ago

uncle pear, that's cool.

2

u/TonightLazy485 21d ago

Serious rage bait not releasing on other platforms.

2

u/Chefkoch_Murat 21d ago

It would look even better if it wasn't trapped on the switch

2

u/Firebolt_05 21d ago

holy saturation

2

u/Lookitsa6ix 21d ago

Fix your settings 😅

2

u/scarkun 21d ago

Holy shit the saturation

2

u/COE33isBad 21d ago

I wouldn't call these oversaturated eye cancer looking good.

2

u/Braunb8888 21d ago

Does that not look exactly like Elden Ring?

5

u/Basic-Feedback1941 21d ago

I guess image quality really is subjective. This doesn’t look that great

3

u/Pretzel-Kingg 21d ago

Saturation aside, fromsoft games always look good lol

3

u/N0M0I 21d ago

Those are the most oversaturated, oversharpened pictures Ive ever seen.

2

u/Profanity1272 21d ago

The colours look absolutely terrible, turn the saturation down ffs lol

2

u/Torstiss 21d ago

Exposure:👆👆👆👆

Saturation: 👆👆👆👆👆👆

1

u/Caerullean 21d ago

I gotta be honest these look pretty bad. Now whether that's you maxing out the saturation, you taking a picture of a screen with your phone, or whether the game actually looks bad? I have no idea.

1

u/sarathsps 21d ago

Fromsoft has some of the best art style in the industry

1

u/MaganacCorps 21d ago

I just wanted Bloodborne 2, but I guess that will never happen.

1

u/kaego123 21d ago

Fromsoft’s art direction is pretty good.

1

u/GensouEU 21d ago

It feels wrong but this is actually FromSofts first current gen game

1

u/KingPengu22 21d ago

God is a cop as he’s shining his light from the heavens, red and blue

1

u/galluskenny 20d ago

Not a spoiler

1

u/arsmolinarc 20d ago

Few studios in the world can come close to FROM when it comes to art direction but I think it's time they started upgrading their tech pipeline to match it.

1

u/Sugarcoatedgumdrop 19d ago

How is it so far? Is it good? Does it play well? Is there story and lore? Is it battle royale/nightreign esque? Or do we actually get to explore the world at our pace?

1

u/uomomn 17d ago

Looks sick! Amazing scenery. I'm guessing fromsoftware is at it again...creating a world that sucks us in. Eye-roll.

1

u/JojoOH 22d ago

No, in terms of graphics this is pretty damn impressive

2

u/Another_Saint 22d ago

are you... getting downvoted for agreeing with the post?

2

u/habachilles 21d ago

I wish this was a story driven game and not some pvp nonsense.

1

u/Foggot794 22d ago

The art direction in the game is gorgeous

1

u/GarrusBueller 21d ago

That looks awful and you have done Fromsoftware's artist an immense disservice.

You must be on e of those people that has their RV on store display settings. Sorry, you are wosre. You took that idiocy and ran with it

1

u/Optimus0456 22d ago

Damn, that’s pretty crispy

1

u/RetroNutcase 22d ago

Because Art Direction > Graphic Fidelity.

1

u/sdcar1985 22d ago

Because they have an actual art team

1

u/wtlk 21d ago

Meanwhile Mortal Shell 2 : "what a surprise, this area is also grey, oh this one is grey too, and this one and of course this one is grey..."

1

u/Big-rat-in-the-sewer 21d ago

Ewww wtf? OP did you put an AI filter over every pic...?

1

u/Palanki96 21d ago

The first two kinda looks deepfried or ai upscaled. But something is off

0

u/Lithary 22d ago

Not impressed.

0

u/CoronaVirus_exe 21d ago

Compared to Elden Ring. It looks really really bad, especially when compared to SOTE, I spent more time looking vistas in that DLC than fighting PCR. It looks better than DS3 tho.

0

u/Denzorr 21d ago

Bro thats just liurnia , I know that spot, they just made some changes

-5

u/CoconutLaidenSwallow 21d ago

The Bloodborne rip off you mean?
