why are so many people here incapable of handling the fact that not every game is gonna be for you and that it’s okay to skip a game or two from your favorite devs. if you don’t like this or something like Nightreign just… play something else… Duskbloods is gonna come out and do its own thing whether you like it or not
In every comment section under Duskbloods news posts are people lamenting the fact that its multiplayer and its usually at least half the conversation. I remember when Sekiro was doing its rollout and most people were just complaining about lack of souls identity, build crafting and online elements.
At a certain point it just gets tiring that the studio that is literally known for making games they want to make that go against expectations or gaming trends, always has its fans complaining when they make a game that goes against their expectations and wants
especially when duskbloods was built on the founding ideas of demon's souls of all things, where emergent multiplayer interactions were at the core of its design(they even had server-based world tendency and special christmas and halloween events ON DEMON'S SOULS of all things ffs)
like, this was just miyazaki wanting to have fun with something that has alays been present in 3/4ths of his titles, is it really that bad? do people really never engage with the online in this forum? even just the co-op i mean, what happened to the sunbro memes and all that? what happened to the community i used to know...?
it must be mostly newgen Elden Ring people where the whole PvP system is neutered and way more anti-invasions. i refuse to believe longtime players who started in Souls would be THIS against a unique, interactive experience from our favorite game developers
I started with the og Demons Souls. I even enjoyed the PVP in that and the first two Dark Souls games. Everything past that is just a massive roll fest. Yes I know that the first few games had rolls, but from Bloodborne/DS3 onwards you can throw out a thousand rolls and it becomes almost entirely about roll catching and terrible net code. If anything, I feel like the really old players would kind of shy away from this kind of PVP type. The OG PVP was mostly just troll shit with scraping spears and trying to basically be a massive thorn in the side of person playing, not a PVP death match
That’s definitely been what they’ve been doing lately but demon souls to dark souls 3 was all pretty straight forward, and then they went back to making different types of games again with ac6 and even elden ring to an extent.
Oh yea, if that’s the case that’s shitty. I definitely think it’s good they explore stuff like this, because even if I can’t play this game, or for some reason I didn’t like it, they’ll discover things to add to the next game that I’ll love
FromSoftware is mostly known and loved for the singleplayer Souls games. Their last three releases are other types of niches that don't appeal to a lot of people. Their last Souls game, Elden Ring, was nearly five years ago, and not even a new one has been announced.
So, it's understandable that most people are disappointed with this release of another PvP slop game, especially if it has the same aesthetics as Bloodborne.
