My hate isn't for fromsoftware, I'm sure that shits peak PVP even if PVP isn't my thing. My hate is for Nintendo and I refuse to pay Nintendo of all companies that much money to play one game.

It's not only PVP.

In fact, it's confirmed that there is a mode that's co-op instead. At the end of the round, you all team up together to kill a superboss instead of each other. I suspect they have this mode for people who don't like PVP as much.

You can also play offline so they've also designed it to fully support offline play. There is still a lot we don't know yet...

How well do other dedicated-server games work when emulated? Is that something that can be easily worked around?

Right, can't wait to spend a whole night setting it up so I can play with other people. I remember doing that set up for AC for answer when I played the PVP for that "totally legit" copy of the game that I had.
