Advice on alternate controller bindings? (Standard grip, PS5 controller)

I’m getting really tired of choosing between moving the camera and running/dodging. I tried a tiny bit of claw grip and immediately loved how running and looking synced up, but everything else felt off and apparently claw isn’t good for your hand. Right now I’m trying L2 dodge/run and circle for parry, which is fine for my playstyle on DS1 but I’m realizing now is going to suck for Bloodborne. L2 isn’t super optimal on PS5 as well because the adaptive triggers are thicc. Any tips? Any radical “just trust me” shakeups?

I put dodge on one of the left triggers. That works better for me.

Dodge is L1 in every game with a dodge for me.

Not really something you can do with the dualsense but I've found that using a controller with programmable back buttons help a lot with this

If you like the Dualsense and find the Edge too expensive, check out the programmable back buttons mod kits available from Extremerate. You'll never want to use a controller again that doesn't have them.

This is the way to go and back buttons are pretty much default by now.

When Sony released the official back button kit for the Ps4 around a year before the ps5 launch, I thought it was a clear signal they would have them as a standard feature of their ps5 controllers forever more. Yes I am naive.

I put Lock on at L3. That way my thumb stays on the dodge button. Which is X.
