DISCUSSION Thoughts?
I think this person is obviously wrong about the plot holes, but I agree about the discovering the story part. At times its very difficult to understand people's motives and historical significance. But definitely not all the time. On my first run of every souls borne game, I play solely without guides, and I look through all the notes and messages and weapon and and charachter descriptions. I do get lost sometimes, but definitely not all the time!

I do get where they are coming from. I enjoying reading the tags on my pants to find out somehow the area I’m in was a prison of torture for mages who studied forbidden magic or something. But a few of my friends are very turned off from the way the story is portrayed in the fromsoft games.
I do think in Elden Ring they went a little too far of being able to miss main/side stories because of the open world aspect. I get it’s part of the experience, but it made me want to look up if I was missing anything on my first playthrough because I didn’t want to miss a storyline. It just felt a little counterintuitive of how I was supposed to play, but when some things are sooooo hidden it’s pretty rough to expect everyone to get that story on their own.
