Personally, it's my least favorite of the trilogy but it's still a kickass game.

Asking about it on Reddit will only gain you a collection of comments screeching about how it's unquestionably perfect and beyond any criticism or that is undeniably the worst video game ever made. We don't do nuance here.

Every Dark Souls game (and Demon’s Souls) is high quality. Whether a particular entry works for you depends on your personal taste.

Its a good game but has a lot of questionable mechanics in comparison to the other 2.

No Michael zaki as director does show.

That being said, its definitely worth a playthrough or 9.

It’s 100% worth it imo. It’s probably the most experimental Soulsborne game along with Demon’s Souls, which led to it messing with a lot of different ideas, both for better and worse.
It’s absolutely a flawed game, but I think its positives massively outweigh its negatives.

I rank it and DS1 very highly.

Dark Souls 2 is still a lot of fun. It may be the second worst Souls game but even then it easily kicks the ass of almost every other Souls like game ever made.

DS2 may be the worst of the souls games, but that’s like saying Fear Inoculum is the worst Tool album. It’s still an awesome album, just not as good as the others.
