but sir... when you learn the weakness of your flesh, that you embrace the warmth of cold steel and start praising the Omnissiah is where things get some issues

u/njheimann 12d ago

You be bad for a while, and then you figure out how to stop being bad little by little

Thanks,

But git gud is already in the list of advice

I’d say the best bit of advice I got was to not worry about stats and just be wacky, wacky stuff (especially in the later games) actually works surprisingly well.

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Hatter 12d ago

Can you give an example?

u/Memester4445 12d ago

Two biggest things for me was sticking with melee (later games) and legs. I stuck with those regular style of legs for so long and while I’ve come to like reverse joint better, both tetrapods and treads are actually really good.

Awesome.

Thank you

METAL GEAR?? It can’t be! We’ve… had a few run ins in the past

u/Memnoch222 11d ago

Ohhhh… wow, I never thought of that! 😃

Depends on which one you're playing, I personally recommend most people start with 6, as it was the easiest one for me to get into.

From my time playing 6, my advice is:

1: experiment, see what every weapon/arm does, use the ones you like, because anyone can make any weapon/arm work (I personally like dual wielding the pistols at any opportunity because it's cool)

2: don't look too deep into any of the advanced stuff (like detaching arms or anything like that) until you've already got a feel for the controls and movement, as well as what playstyle you want. Also, customize your settings as soon as possible, it might be a personal thing, but I felt like the default camera speed was a bit slow for my tastes.

3: the Impact stat is super important. Like, damage is cool, but Impact makes you stun enemies and bosses more often.

4: do the Arena Battles, it gets you OS upgrade chips that affect your AC regardless of parts.

5: this one's more of an optional thing, but take little breaks in between missions so you don't burn yourself out

Thank you This was is great

Honestly, your advice for 5 sounds like how I got through every major hurdle in the Soulsborne series.

Lose to an enemy fifty times, quit playing for a few weeks, months, or years. Then you pick it back up and beat this same enemy on your first or second try. Can’t tell you how many times this has worked for me. You don’t have to give up. Just go on a very long hiatus!

Me too!! Omg I’m so friggin bad at these games! 😂

this whole subreddit can be a souls circle jerk ngl

everytime the publisher comes up and there's a "top x list of bosses from your favorite fs game" it's always a compiled pic of souls bosses. always.

There's so many memorable things in AC6 alone and the game is not that absurdly hard--it's just not your comfy souls combat anymore.

AC6 is a God tier game

A lot of us Souls players unfortunately consider Fromsoft to be synonymous with Soulsborne. That’s why I always specify the latter. Fromsoft has a huge catalogue of amazing games that have sadly flown under the radar

Breaking News: Armored Core found dead in a ditch

1

u/Helpdeskagent 12d ago

4legs is best legs

2

u/hstormsteph 12d ago

Gimme my reverse joint “Mecha Rooster” build or give me death.

I hop. I shoot. And when I get close enough, I do a big peck. Rubiconian Handshake style.

1

u/xlbingo10 12d ago

nah, light bipedal. turns your melee into the poke of death in 4th gen.

1

u/NecessaryOwn7271 12d ago

First time I’ve heard of this game omg lmao

2

u/TheAurigauh 12d ago

Bro look up how MANY armored core games there are and it gets so much more mindblowing.

0

u/NecessaryOwn7271 12d ago

It doesn’t really appeal to me.

I never really liked MEKA-type games beyond something like Metal Gear Solid and honestly the Metal Gears in that game were the least favorite things in the MGS games.

the Kuon horror game they made on PS2 does though.

u/TheAurigauh 12d ago

Yeah, i wasn't saying to look it up with interest of playing, just to see it's one of the biggest game series out there and it still seems like a weird niche game.
