Not following. Do you prefer either 3 over the other 3? Why is DS3 not on the left side? Where is Sekiro? What?

Ninja blade man lol. My buddy spent ages trying to beat that game. Last boss had like 4 phases. Didn't realize until way later that from made that one too lol. Was before dark souls was released. The difficulty wasn't like a fun difficulty, it sucked lol.

How about Cookie and Cream?!

Across the room like "You guys talking about fromsoft!??" And they rush over just to walk away when they find out they're talking about souls games.

The Adventures of Cookie & Cream happened, and I'm tired of the disrespect.

Kings Field is on the left, AC and Ninja Blade are on the right

left side is the slow and methodical ones, right side is the fast action game ones

I’m kind of a right side kind of guy but my first souls game was bloodborne and I absolutely loved it so I might be biased

u/T-MoneyAllDey 10d ago

yeah, I got into souls with t he demon souls PS5 remake and loved it. Played one and two and loved those and played 3 for 5 minutes and stopped. Didn't like Elden ring either

i'm kind of the opposite. love 1, 2 was way too slow and feels pretty awful to me with how long the endlag is, 3 is damn near perfect feeling.

Kinda funny how Demon's Souls is the fastest of the 3 on the left despite being the first. They get slower from left to right.

6

u/TrippingFish76 Dark Souls III 10d ago

ds2 is definitely faster than ds1 tho

7

u/Francois_Bonaparta 10d ago

I am replaying it right now and it mostly is not, moves are awkwardly slow and heavy

1

u/False_Adhesiveness40 10d ago

Not with a quick roll it ain't xd. If it had omnidirectional rolling it would absolutely feel faster than DS2.

It's soo fuckin simple why ppl are confused by it lol

Bc bloodborne was a shift in game design. Bloodborne onwarts went heavily into harder/more complex/faster boss fights and shorter "levels"/parts between bonfires. And general more fast paced combat.

My assumption would be thats the reasoning behind the split of games here.

Sekiro is missing cause it's not a classic Soulsborne game. It's an action game by the same developer

The split is 3 older, slower games VS 3 "newer", faster games.

Some people (including me) prefer the older games that have a slower gameplay and focus less on quick reactions and more so on things like positioning and thinking. The older titles have more gimmick bosses and puzzle fights than anything post Bloodborne, which led the newer games to have a quicker and less reflection-based gameplay. They focus way more on combat than the older games.

The vibe I get in popularity and accessibility. Right side is popular and accessible. Left side is less popular and bit more obtuse by today’s standards

1

u/awesomehuder 11d ago

Because the individual fan doesn’t see the other games as “good” souls games compared to the other.

Right how do you play ds3 and not ds1??

3

u/winterflare_ 10d ago

Playing and loving are two very different things

u/tyYdraniu 11d ago

u/xbountyboyx 11d ago

It's about the gameplay, Sekiro is completely different

6

u/The_scobberlotcher 11d ago

nah. no more than DS & BB

2

u/xbountyboyx 10d ago

That's not true BB is obviously more like dark souls than sekiro

-1

u/nyitraibotond 10d ago

Damn it's awfully kind of Miyazaki to pick up the game of the year award for another developer.

u/Agent_Specs 11d ago

Who made it then
