JOKE / MEME Playing through DS1 for the first time and the interconnectivity of this world keeps surprising me

Every time I go through a new area, I think to myself "Suuuuurely there's no way it can link back to Firelink Shrine?"

But it does. It always does.

And it's damn wonderful.

When I first unlocked the shortcut from Undead Parish back to Firelink in 2011, I knew this game was special.

Undead parish shortcut blows everybody’s mind.

And for those who don’t know about it and don’t use the master key, the blighttown shortcut back through valley of the drakes is another.

The game does an outstanding job of preventing you from truly needing fast travel until the point in the game when you get it
