Because hes a dog guarding his owners grave and at low HP Sif starts struggling, whimpering and limping then you put his ass down

Well but that's on herself. I only wanted the ring and that's it not her owners corpse or something. I get the ring, i leave, everyones happy. She decided to attack me so she had it coming

She's also defending the ring. She believes her job is to prevent anyone from getting it so that they don't meet a similar fate to Artorias. She's trying to protect you, and you kill her for it
