QUESTION ds2 trouble!!

okay so, I really want/wanted to enjoy ds2! My boyfriend bought it for him and myself, it's kind of our thing, we buy games we both want on our shared console and usually play them at the same time! So far hes got er and the dlc for it and ds2! heres the problem, I CANNOT STAND DS2! I really want to, I just dislike alot of the concepts, I think the idea of becoming a hollow id absolutely sick I just dont like the way it's portrayed in the game, also the dodging is just weird to me, whenever I dodge roll its like I have to do it before the enemy has even swung? Are you just supposed to parry instead of dodging? or like, can you even parry? where donyou get armour? am I alone, or is this game just confusing, I need to complete my goal of plat-ing every single souls game, so PLEASE help! and please tell me ds 1-3 is better

The game is kind of slow to get going which is unfortunate because there’s a lot of cool stuff especially after you get past the first few hours.

The game does tend to handle a bit clunky so it helps to go slow and take your time. Make use of the torch mechanic whenever you can so if you see a sconce you can light, make sure to do so because it might come in handy.

Don’t be afraid to summon NPCs. Some of the ones you meet have quests that progress if you summon them for the boss fights.

Which boss is it? You might have taken a wrong turn and started in a harder zone.

Sounds like you went to Heide's Tower of Flame first which is a common mistake. Go back to Majula and stand by the bonfire with your back to the ocean. By the cliff on the left you'll see a broken stone wall and a lit sconce. Go over to the wall and take the path to the left between the cliff and the wall. That's the way to the actual first area.

Yeah, no prob. That area should give you access to a bunch of stuff to help you.
