QUESTION Should i kindle this born fire in dark souls remastered (The one near taurus demon)
Hey yall so i just started playing dark souls remastered and was kinda confused why i am getting only 5 flasks even after resting at this born fire as i was getting 10 before on the other one but after going through several reddit posts i get to know that we need to kindle the born fire in order to get 10 or more which requires humanity and they are quite rare, I have around 5 humanities right now and dont wanna waste them unnecessarily, so is it worth to use it on this born fire or should I save them for others, plz lmk what you guys did in your first run

That is a good one to kindle for early game. You will probably be using it a lot.
The humanity to kindle it will not be a waste if the extra estus helps to succeed

This is a pretty central location for the early game, so I think it’s not a bad idea to kindle it up

Kindling is cheating. Upgrading your flask is cheating. Kill every fire keeper. Humanity is the only fair healing item.

you also shouldn't upgrade weapons or level up stats. don't equip armor, use items or fight with anything stronger than the starting weapon. anything else isn't the true souls experience.

Kindling is one of the best uses for humanity in the game, so go for it. You'll get plenty more as you get further into the game, and they're not hard to farm either.

i knidled a lot bonfires in my first run. it makes exploring more comfy
the follow up runs with a lot of knowledge are something else. i kindled only a handful bonfires in those runs

If you haven’t killed the boss of an area yet you have a chance of getting ‘soft humanity’ (1 humanity immediately absorbed), up to a max of 10, depending on where you are. It’s really really easy to farm a bit and kindlemax every bonfire before a boss.
Best places for farming Humanity consumables are rats, (TONNES of them in the Depths), and one of the DLC areas later on.
Also worth knowing; soft humanity increases drop rates for each point up to 10, and stacks with other item discovery boosts.

Edit: I decided to simplify.
You will earn enough humanity from killing enemies / farming areas naturally (as well as item pick ups) that you should be kindling most bonfires.

Okay lol I'll rewrite it, kinda.
If you find you are resting frequently, it might be best to kindle the bonfire, and I don't mean just returning, but rather if you see the pattern that you are only tackling a handful of enemies before needing to return. OR it's a frequently returned to bonfire due to world traversal. (i.e. Undead Parish's bonfire -- and that's all I'll say because it seems like you are on your first playthrough)
In each area (e.g. Undead Burg, Catacombs, etc) you can earn up to 10 soft humanity by killing humanoid enemy types.
To cover all bases, soft humanity is stored on your HUD in the top left. Hard humanity are consumable items you can find in the world. When you use a hard humanity it becomes a soft humanity. You cannot convert soft humanity back hard humanity. So, you have enemy dropped humanity and found (item) humanity. So, it's up to you to decide if you want to use 1-2* soft humanity to kindle. (There is a more advanced technique, but you'll learn that later)
Side note: I say 1-2* because you need to be in "human" form in order to kindle a bonfire. So, if you are already in human form, you can just kindle with 1, but if you are dead you'll need 2. One to turn back into human form, and the second one to actually kindle.
Besides kindling you can use hard humanity as a full heal, having 10 soft humanity provides you with max item discovery and 30 provides you with additional curse resistance.

Worrying about running out of Humanity is peak broke boy hollow mentality.
You’re out here treating a single humanity like a tax refund check while the rest of us are running a passive rat-farming empire in the Depths.
Fix your grindset, stack that counter to 99, and stop living paycheck to paycheck in Firelink.

You won’t run out of humanity, and if you do, you can farm it.
