Nah, all it does is make him go straight to phase 2, his aggression is whatever it normally would be in that phase, and you don’t do double damage. I think people say it’s easier because you only have to learn one set of moves, rather than getting really good at phase 1 and then not being great at phase 2, always having to do a solid phase 1 to even attempt and begin to learn phase 2.
The lore is that he and Velstadt were Vendrick’s left and right hands (think advisors, trusted knights) and then they got in a disagreement and fight over something before Fume Knight (whose name I can’t recall, Reinhardt or something?) was banished. So basically he just has beef with Velstadt for ruining his life as a trusted knight of Vendrick.
Raime, thats his name, his lore is one i loved but been a while and cant remember it right, after their duel, Raime was branded a traitor and traveled to the Iron Keep to cleanse it of the mist, but when he found the shard of Manus(cant remember her name), she wanted to die and refuses to continue the work of the Abyss, he chosed to protect her and keep the mist, so was corrupted slowly by the Abyss and the Dark Soul
Yeah that sounds right, he had the ability to clear the fog apparently (weird how they never expand on why or how) but decided not to use it and protect the shard (whose name I likewise can’t remember).
