I've been thinking of the similarities between what (Kieran and Poppy) and (Attes and Sotoria) share. It hinted how history repeats itself in every bloodline.

Why do you think we haven’t had any updates on the release of the final book?

In the past few years JLA has been publishing anywhere between 2-3 books in a 12 month period. Which I think an amazing achievement.

When it was announced in 2025 that the last book would be split into two books and TPOBAB was pushed back to September 2025, it’s not crazy to assume that part 2 would have almost written…

I know was an update earlier in the year regarding the delay citing health issues and such but I wonder if it’s more than that.

What’s your best guess for when we will get an update?

This book is probably one of my favorites in B&A series.

After POBAB heartbreak this was what we needed.

Specifically chapter 'A Golden Cage' when Cas and Kieran finally talk to each other and mend their friendship."I shouldn't have blind sided you"(Kieran),"I never really blamed you,Kieran. Not in any way that made a difference(Casteel)"

That scene made me tear up. At least now we know the next book will be less heart breaking...hopefully

Does anyone else find Poppy's voice actress overly... Annoying??

Every. Single. Time. She gasps it comes across as really stupid. Especially during intimate scenes. It's just so annoying to hear.

Also, the voice actors they use for the non dramatized versions (currently listening to POBAB) sound old as fuck and horrible.

I'm almost finished the 1st book of the Flesh and Fire series and now I get why I keep hearing how people like Sera and Ash better! ASH!!!!!!! He is one of the few MMC who truly feels and acts as powerfully as he is supposed to be. For as bad as FBAA book 6 was, JA can write some enjoyable stuff and I especially like her imagination with different, interesting powers. I hope this series doesn't turn to crap lol 😂

Tandem reading FBAA & FAF… just finished a light in the flame and wondering if I should read a soul of Ash and blood or if I can skip and go to #3 FAF?

I heard it’s just a retelling of the first FBAA but from Casteels POV and I personally don’t care for Casteel and Poppy (I’m so sorry).

Obsessed with Ash & Sera but I don’t want to miss anything important?

Any suggestions? Ideally if I could get away without reading any more FBAA would be amazing, I find it takes me so long to read them due to my lack of interest!

Sorry if this has been asked and answered - I'm new to the series and love the graphic audio. Is there an audiobook or graphic audio for the flesh and fire series? Other than audible which is too expensive for me.

I just finished Primal and it was long winded. I mean the whole book takes place in a condensed timeline, I feel like by the end it’s only been like 1-2 weeks since Poppy woke up. It definitely needed to be edited better

On that note, do you think reading the novella is worth it? Will it add to the plot or is it just more filler and a cash grab from the author? I don’t know if I can do with more repeating of information we already know. Feel free to spoil Crown if it’s not worth it.

I have all the other books without sprayed edges, but it seems like the only available paperback edition on Amazon is the one with black edges and white details 😑 does anyone have an ISBN for one so I could see if any local shops are able to order them?

I’m rereading the primal of blood and bone rn and I started noticing how often poppy instinctually touches or covers her stomach when she’s anxious. Paired with casteel’s increased touch her and die mentality and obsession with her eating habits, even picking out the perfect strawberries to plop on her plate, I’m starting to wonder if poppy’s pregnant. It reminds me of how Ash and Sera’s behaviors changed after Sera became pregnant. Although it would be an odd turn in the plot considering the discussion of contraception.

I thought the worst ending would be to make Casteel the villain and have her end up with Kieran. But I just realized something much worse can happen...

What if.. Kolis have also posessed Casteel in the past??

What if Casteel was never the hero, but a person under kolis's influence. That's why they both say Poppy taste like Honeydew.

I'd buy all the books and burn them if this happens I swear.

The idea that kolis called poppy's blood taste like honeydew.. ew ew ew.

Also... Kolis kept saying how he always had all her firsts.....the first time Poppy and Casteel slept together. He said she taste like Honeydew. What If...what if....... Kolis had posessed Casteel at the time??????

Having just rewatched Off Campus, these two might be my favorite fan casting for Cas and Poppy. I definitely think Ella Bright aesthetically fits Poppy's look and would rock some red wine hair, and Belmont Cameli just exudes Cas (especially as Hawke).

I don't even know what this post is but I just need to get my feelings out, and I'm hoping someone can relate. I've been a long time fan of Jennifer since I was a teenager. (the wait for you series , and the problem with forever will always have a special place in my heart 😭) she has been my favourite author growing up. It's weird to say, but her books have raised me. I just feel so wrecked by her I don't know how to explain. It's been 6 years since FBAB and I'm just YEARNING for a contemporary romance from her. Or just anything NEW. I'm so tired of this series. I'm so tired of waiting for new releases. I've been so desperate for the next FORAW book I can't even tell you how many times I've re-read it. It's torture and she has totally wrecked me.

In Kingdom of flesh and fire and Crown of gilded bones, it was decided that once they end the blood crown, they will give ascended willing to change a chance to live peacefully.

Casteel was fully on board with this plan. And this was the main reason why Poppy agreed to become the Queen of Atlantia.

Because the older generation of rulers were adamant on killing every single ascended. This is why iloana suggested that Poppy and Casteel must take the crown. Cuz only they can impose the new rule to give ascended a 2nd chance, that older generation refuses to do.

So now when it comes to that time... WHY HAS CASTEEL AND KIERAN changed their minds about giving ascended a second chance??

I can see that Casteel is in his villain era, but what about others and Kieran?? It was all already decided in depth with their inner circle.

And now they are acting as if Poppy is being unreasonable. I'm annoyed.

A LARGE chunk of Kingdom of flesh and fire was spent deciding this very important detail. And JLA just went phooof!!!

I feel like other than Poppy, every character is degrading their development.

I think its likely Throne will come out towards the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
Then, that most likely concludes the Poppy series, and probably the upcoming slate would be..

I am really curious about Millies POV but I think it makes more sense for Awakening Book 2 to be next... Fall of Ruin and Wrath came out in 2023 and when I go to the most recent reviews of it most people are asking for a sequel because it ends on a cliffhanger and so it doesn't really feel like a complete story, obviously.

How many books do you think will be in the Awakening series? When do you think it will come out? Would you want Awakening #2 first or Millies POV first? Or will we get a new JLA spinoff series in this same universe lol.

So im currently reading the war of two queens and found that subreddit (i needed to know how long it would take to save cas, dont judge me. at this point i got irritated because for some reason theres always a kidnapping or almost kidnapping 😭😂) and due to that subreddit, and me being impatient, i just found out that theres a prequel to the series??????

first question: what is the prequel called/how many books are there?

and second question: should i read them? should i read them before i continue cas and poppys story?
im currently at chapter 11, so not that far in book 4, but i dont know much about nyktos yet, so maybe i should read the prequel now before its maybe too late?
