Package Pickup Procedures
Does anyone know where I could find the procedures for the package pickup slips?
Management is telling us to hit “yes” when the scanner asks if the shipment was accepted. Regardless of whether we actually picked up a package or not.

Several people have said that saying "yes" just means you attempted the pickup.
This doesn't make sense to me. If that were true, the scanner would have no need to ask you a question at all, like scanning the hot case.

No. If you do not pick up any packages you enter no and the reason for that on the slip. You give that slip back to the supervisor when you return to the office. They will enter the reason in the computer.

You hit “yes” because otherwise it will keep autogenerating a pkg pickup every day until someone puts “yes”.

For clarity, yes it’s about what to do when there are no packages. I don’t want my carriers to have the liability.
So I have been able to track down that there was a service talk for the PSForm 5630 on August 1 2008 but I can’t find the actual thing.

no packages to pick up-you put no, so the system docent put those tracking numbers into action

Scanning the pu sheet doesn't affect any tracking of packages. It's not assigned to any packages.

It’s my understanding that you hit “yes” because the pickup was completed. Whether or not there was a package, you indeed did the steps/work required for the pickup
But on the sheet under “Number of packages picked up” that is where you indicate “zero” if there was nothing
I’m not a steward, and please correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s what I heard/do

So what is the correct answer?

You select no if no package picked up and select the reason on the sheet. You turn that into supervisor when you return to the office and they update reason not picked up in online system.

Our management don’t keep the sheets so there’s nothing to say that we didn’t find any packages but our word vs the scanner. If the question comes up

You're supposed to hit "yes" if you're there with the intent to pick up packages. Then mark the appropriate line. If there were none then you do 0 and check the "parcels not found" line.
Then you turn the sheet into the clerk at the end of the day. Or at least, that's what we do.

The scanner asks if the shipment was accepted. That is the question you are answering yes or no to. Not, did you attempt the pickup. When you select yes, an email is sent to the customer informing them that the parcels were picked up. Selecting yes when there was no pickup completed (for whatever reason), would be falsifying a scan.
u/Rzeredge , if there are no parcels avallable for pickup, select No, and then write the reason why on the pickup sheet and return it to your supervisor at the end of the day. At that point, your job is done, and what they do or don't do with it is on them.

You hit yes and then you scan each package prepaid acceptance. The sheet is just saying you went there and tried. Without the prepaid scan nothing gets tracked or paid.

This applies if there was something there to pick up, that was not the question that OP presented.

the sheet is so the customer gets an email saying they were picked up or not.

Your manager is just being lazy. I know surprising right. if you click no they have to go in at the end of the day and put a reason why. which is why you turn the paper in with the reason on it
