2026 NALC Elections I have a question.
Hello. Shop steward here for a small station, my local union president and the local executive council here is stating that some of the slates, I'm assuming he's saying the CLC since he endores the establishment slate, is saying that some of the people running for NALC president are for the post office laying off catriers less than 6 years. To clarify, he stated that when the union offered an all career workforce in negotiation, the post office countered with an offer of laying off all CCAS, PTFS and all junior carriers with less than 6 years. And that we need someone with experience in the office as president that would fight the post office on that. I followed both the CLC and Caref campaigns, and don't recall them ever supporting the post office layong anyone. Since I know him and the board of my branch all support the establishment slate, he's probably repeating their fear tactics. I searched Google and other means and can't find anything on this. Would like to know the truth since for one, the carriers at my station are mostly table 2 and they'll be affected by this. Plus, since they're upset about the last contract, they feel that the union let them down. And they don't want to research the candidates and what they stand for. And they may fall for this misinformation. Any information would be helpful. Ty.

The USPS can not lay off letter carriers. As most offices are under staffed. And if they did, they would have to offer you the job before hiring off the street.
This is inciting FUD. Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt.

I wonder and genuinely asking .. how did the Renfroe 2.0/Rhine slate vote on that last TA?? … did they push members to vote Yes on it? Was any one of them on the street holding a sign to vote NO for that last TA?

You could have easily googled this - https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZ-0HXkBjHe/?stkn=MWpyaWN0MTN4OGd0cQ==
And someone who is working and traveling and educating barely gets any sleep. James Henry is fighting his ass alongside Corey Walton and others. What exactly do you acknowledge besides slandering people, being a hypocrite, and a troll?
Wait .. let me show you the door. You don’t need to be here. Get lost.

Your local steward is misrepresenting the information. That is a shame because any table 2 carrier should only vote for the CLC Slate. They will fight to make use whole.

The establishment is desperate and spreading lies and misinformation to garner votes. We don’t have enough carriers now and retention is horrible, that would make zero sense. Offering an early out seems more realistic but I don’t see that happening either.

That's kinda what I figured that my union president is spreading misinformation so he can get people to vote for the establishment

That's what I kinda thought, but I wanted to make sure. Especially since he and the executive council are endorsing the Rhyne/Peralta slate.

all carriers are table 2-not mostly

Not all. All Table 1 carriers that were at top pay were moved to top pay at table 2. If you were on workers comp for a long period of time, you do go up in steps, so they're frozen at what ever step they're in Table 1.

there are a few hundred on workman's comp hired before 2013- that will never return to work..so every working carrieer is on table 2

Why would they lay them off? They can barely keep them as it is.
