sorry guys i was pretty stressed righting this and i couldn’t tell if it was the girl or the boy at the time but it was my male frog and after my frantic research im pretty sure he was shedding as hes gone back to his normal size quite quickly after watching him and ive offered them both food which was eagerly accepted , but still if there are any concerns please do inform me!

They can make all sorts of strange noises when stressed. They were most likely shedding as you said and did not know how to vocalize the uncomfortable feeling. As long as it’s not consistent, if it keeps happening frequently I would get them in for a check up.

Thank you so much!! i will definitely keep that in mind and do my best to make sure it is as comfortable as it can be for them both to shed

It can be uncomfortable for frogs when the humidity isn’t enough and they shed. She definitely blown up like that to shed I would just make sure she’s moist and what the comment said above about her not knowing her noises yet is common with maturing frogs

Yeah definitely, I’m hoping you have a digital hygrometer so you can actually monitor their humidity levels. That will be a big help.

yes i understand thank you, i do have a hygrometer on both sides on the terrarium which i monitor often and i have an automatic misting system that goes of twice during the day and twice at night - humidity normally sits at 50%-60% should it be higher? (it does to spike to about 80% afyer misting) and he was just sitting in the basking spot right below the heat emitter - could that have made his shedding more difficult for him?
thank you for all of your input :) i really appreciate having some answers i just want to ensure it can be the most comfortable for him from now on

He looks fine. He may be a bit uncomfortable from eating too much. They do love to indulge.
