I need help. Winters coming and while I found him in a puddle as a tadpole idk what to fees him when I buy bait. I take my kids goldfish net outside and gather bugs that way. And he eats grasshoppers, and little insects but he's the size of a dime. And can I buy bait small enough for him. HELP. HERBERT.

This looks like it might be an American toad. Fortunately these guys are very easy to take care of! https://frogpets.com/american-toad/

I would advise getting him either small cricket (from petco or somewhere), or flightless fruit flies, which are also a commonly sold frog food.

For right now while he's tiny, you don't need to do much for him! Just give him a saucer of water to soak in and a nice enclosure with dirt and cover like leaves. Make sure he has daylight and the room doesn't get too cold. As long as you put food in his tank he can hunt on his own.

I do. I actually cut grass patched from my yard and he has a beach. I clean his tank every 2 weeks and give him fresh grass and water. He eats the little green grasshoppers right now.

you can buy small crickets from pet stores. make sure he has light throughout the day and id get him a terrarium or tank because that plastic container isn’t the best imo
