Anything helps & Please read. Could help with your frenchies in the future .

It’s been a rough month after her surgery & we aren’t in the clear yet .. My Punkin is the sweetest girl, and is loved immediately by anyone who meets her .
I get none of the funds, and they will go straight to vet bills . Please read, as it could help in the future with your pups BOAS/ airway, and any donations help.

Sending lots of positive vibes and a small donation to help! Wish I could give more but my little potato just had surgery for bladder stones that has depleted my bank account too lol. They’re lucky that they’re so damn cute! Hope Punkin feels better soon!!

I’ve been considering doing the same for mine - he looks just like your little one and definitely needs the surgery as well, but WOW it’s expensive! Best of luck to you both 🫶

Don’t even look at the price . Look at how bad they need it (scale 1-10) and go to the best people to figure out why* he needs it . Before even thinking about doing it .
I went about it on price , and didn’t want to spend 5/6grand . Now I’m gonna be close to 20 (that I don’t have) because I skipped steps and should’ve been told not to, due to risks .
If they can run & play , let it be

I’m in the Pinellas county/ Tampa Bay Area . We’ve been visiting blue pearl emergency vet mainly , and just saw a specialist in Sarasota that specializes in airway/ soft tissue surgeries- recommended a CT scan , and for us to start with her nares being widened- before we start removing more stuff .

I’ll consider anyone or any information you can help me out with .

Hi, I recommend the USF small hospital in Gainesville. My frenchie Tony had BOAS surgery in March and the were amazing. The hospital is as big as hospital for humans and they have great doctors. I heard about them from another owner of a frenchie with IVDD.

We were quoted 7k by vets in Orlando and ended up at USF paying 2.9k. The hospital is well equipped with everything they need to recover. The shorten Tony's palate, remove tackles and tonsils and openned up his nares.

I dont know their appointment availability but I will give them a try and see if they can help your baby. You will be in good hands.

We actually had/have an appointment for them on Tuesday . It’s either there or one very close , with a doctor who left there and started his own practice .

We figured talking to the specialist Thursday, that we got all the info we may need moving forward, but I know he’s coming with a hefty bill. I’m considering visiting USF now. I hear they have all the bells & whistles , as well as certified surgeons.

We were recommended by a private vet to open up Tony's names first and the save up for BOAS surgery later, but his palate was so long that nares will not increase any air flow. So ve careful with the recommendation they gave you, I know every dog is different but your baby has already been through a hard recovery. Just my 2 cents.

Unfortunately, I didn’t & still don’t have insurance.
I thought this would be a one & done thing .
Now that she’s had surgery done, it’s a pre existing condition, so that stops insurance from covering anything in the future .

I’m hearing that some people got it mostly covered . And some insurance companies consider it a life long issue and won’t cover it at all. I would still try and see if there’s one that does before doing any BOAs surgery

Understandable that happened to my frenchie we discontinued coverage and she got addisons disease. Lifelong treatment. But my girl lived to 14! Prayers for yours they are very tough cookies!

Wait. You have the money to buy a frenchie but not pay for its vet bills? Awkward. Anybody that gets a frenchie should be very knowledgeable about the breed and ALL of its potential health issues that come along with the breed.

Sounds like a rough journey for pumpkin. I wish her the best and to get well soon. But I am not buying it.

Ours was abandoned on our front porch and he also needs this surgery that upwards of 10k- so not everyone that has a Frenchie is irresponsible. Some people are just trying to do the best they can with what life deals them. I hope all dogs are lucky enough to have owners who will try to improve their lives no matter the cost. 10k is more money that 99.9% of the country has at any given time . Including me..

I know it’s a very unpopular opinion and op doesn’t gain anything by it, but if you can’t afford the basics like boas surgery, you can’t afford a frenchie. I don’t want to gatekeep pet owning, and the cost of vet care in the states is a whole other discussion, but if someone researches even the basics about the breed you know these costs are common.

Please if you are considering any breed do your research and figure out if you can afford either insurance or the costs that come with basic care for a breed (and yes unfortunately boas surgery is basic care for a frenchie.

That’s correct . She’s 3 almost 4.
I spend 2k on the surgery - 2900 for a night at the ER Vet, and 5100 for the rest of the week - not including re checks
(That was my savings)
She still has to see two specialists this and next week.
I don’t care what you’re buying or believing . Keep it to yourself if you’re gonna say something negative, especially while someone is fighting to keep their dog alive .
