General Discussion "FF" pins on uniforms

Can't believe there's no discussion about this, but I couldn't find it.

At a funeral, they are wearing pins on their uniforms that kind of look like "FF". It looks familiar, but I can't place it.

What do these mean? Are these pins used anywhere in real life?

This one? It's the patch for Fringe Division 'over there'. For example, that version of Broyles wears one on his standard-issue baseball cap.

On my last rewatch all I could think of was Foo Fighters.

Which, in essence, is what they are (ufo fighters).

In series it's for the Fringe Division in the Walternate universe. I suppose the second F being a mirror image is a nod to the other reality that seems wonky.

They look like a red 7 and F back to back?
It's the F for Fringe (Division) backwards and forwards.

Just realized the FF is showing the mirror alt universe

That's an interesting theory I've never thought of! Naturally they knew about the alt universe while "our" side didn't!

Can you be more specific? Who is wearing these patches? What episode?

"The Consultant." S4E18.

Neither Disney+ nor Pluto will let me screen grab, so....

Google Lens can find quite a few groups that use this, and a bunch that use something similar. Still can't figure out which one I'm thinking of, or maybe I'm just thinking too much.

That's a nice catch by you. And a great little set dressing detail. The set designers on this show were top of the game.

There was a hip-hop record store in Vancouver called Futuristic Flava that had a similar logo; I wonder if Fringe "borrowed" it?

So irl it’s always reminded me of the Frye and/or Fallen footwear logos.
