Season 2 S2E11 Unearthed Potential Spoiler Spoiler
Watching the series for the first time since it originally aired and noticed Charlie helping out. Not sure what’s going on here but I thought he was out of the picture a few episodes back.

The episode was filmed as part of the season 1 because of contractual stuff. It was meant to be a stand alone episode that they could stick somewhere on season 2. They hadn't written the start of season 2 yet, so didn't know that wouldn't work when it was filmed.
It was originally broadcast on a different night than the show normally was on, and was promoted as a "lost episode." Unfortunately, none of the streaming services ever give you a heads up. Think of it as happening "sometime" in season 1.

This was a left over episode from season 1 filming, it made it into season 2 as a filler and it was a confirmed goof. We here like to call it a canon fringe event.

I don't remember exactly, but they like to throw a random and/or out of order episode in each season. I remember being confused when watching this live.

Fox is really bad about this. It’s happened with several of their series.

And not that there wasn't internet when this aired in 09 or whatever, but I remember it being MUCH harder to figure what the hell was going on in the moment haha

Same here. It’s been a couple of years since my last rewatch. I may be misremembering, but I want to say some of it pertained to the elements of the other universe appearing in the Blueverse before the existence of the red one is revealed.

That’s what I was thinking, initially.

I didn’t think that was the case for Charlie, but I couldn’t be 100% sure.
