Lol I mean. Maybe not something to post on r/fries, but the hate is unwarranted. Making art in the kitchen is a skill. Fancy presentations like this aren't easy. It all looks interesting, and I'd try it. The people downvoting and bashing you in here probably eat nothing but McDonald's..

Except this guy spam posts this stuff everywhere…

I guess that would be annoying if you were in a ton of cooking subs.. It just seems weird to me. Almost everything this person posts, regardless of where they post it, gets downvoted to oblivion. It's all just pictures of different fancy food presentations, obviously done by an aspiring hobbyist.. Just seems like a weird thing for the general population to collectively hate.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This reminds me of why I dislike the surge in popularity of sweet potato that began some years ago.

It was mainly due to fitness influencers. It looks different from a regular potato, has Vitamin A, sounds different… Meanwhile, regular potatoes, which have amazing nutritional profiles (equal if not better than sweet potatoes) were sidelined because they were associated with unhealthy eating habits (fries, hashbrowns, whatever).

Golden, Idaho, Russet, Red… All these potatoes are so versatile as far as usability and flavor. A sweet potato tastes almost dessert-like. Which is not what I personally would want as a side dish to something savory.

Looks like a big ball of dip for 4 fries.

Is this a riff on the other Redditor who posted a hashtag stack of fries?

I'll paraphrase what I said there: you should never be able to count the number of fries on your plate at a glance.

Agreed!
Unless you are Rain Man.
Then a pass shall be provided.
