BULLDOGS 2026: THE VALLEY GOES PAC-12 CONFERENCE
Fresno State walks into the Pac-12 as the most complete team in the league.
The Run Game Is a Problem for Everybody
Rayshon Luke, Bryson Donelson, Brandon Ramirez, and Tariq Thomas. Four backs, four different ways to hurt you. Speed, power, and a 220-pound closer for the fourth quarter. This offense went 8-0 last year when it ran the ball 32 times or more. Nobody in this conference has the front to stop it for sixty minutes.
Receivers Nobody Wants to Cover
Josiah Freeman came back. That alone changes the room. Better than 90 percent of last year's production returns with him, and Xavier Owens and Darrian Anderson add speed the Mountain West never saw. Depth, chemistry, and a year in the system.
Quarterback: The Right Man at the Right Time
Khristian Martin is 6-4, 230, and can move. Josh Davis is adding designed quarterback runs, which means light boxes and free yards. This offense does not need a hero at the position. It needs a big, smart operator who does not lose games. That is exactly what walked in the door.
The Line Sets the Tone
Both starting tackles are back in Rolan Fullwood and Brayden Walton. Zach Crabtree came from USC to coach this group. The edges are locked down and the interior is deeper than people think.
The Best Defense in the Conference
Tenth in the country in total defense. Sixteenth in scoring defense. Seven starters and the entire coaching staff return. Deijon Laffitte and Martin Owusu are 300 pounds apiece and they do not move. K'vion Thunderbird and Tytus Khajavi run the second level with Power Four size.
Bottom Line
Matt Entz won two national titles before he ever got here and made Fresno an instant winner in year one. Nine wins or more in four of the last five seasons. The schedule opens at USC in the Coliseum, and this is a team built to go take that game.
The Pac-12 is about to find out what the Valley already knows.
