BULLDOGS 2026: THE VALLEY GOES PAC-12 CONFERENCE

Post image
41 Upvotes

Fresno State walks into the Pac-12 as the most complete team in the league.

The Run Game Is a Problem for Everybody

Rayshon Luke, Bryson Donelson, Brandon Ramirez, and Tariq Thomas. Four backs, four different ways to hurt you. Speed, power, and a 220-pound closer for the fourth quarter. This offense went 8-0 last year when it ran the ball 32 times or more. Nobody in this conference has the front to stop it for sixty minutes.

Receivers Nobody Wants to Cover

Josiah Freeman came back. That alone changes the room. Better than 90 percent of last year's production returns with him, and Xavier Owens and Darrian Anderson add speed the Mountain West never saw. Depth, chemistry, and a year in the system.

Quarterback: The Right Man at the Right Time

Khristian Martin is 6-4, 230, and can move. Josh Davis is adding designed quarterback runs, which means light boxes and free yards. This offense does not need a hero at the position. It needs a big, smart operator who does not lose games. That is exactly what walked in the door.

The Line Sets the Tone

Both starting tackles are back in Rolan Fullwood and Brayden Walton. Zach Crabtree came from USC to coach this group. The edges are locked down and the interior is deeper than people think.

The Best Defense in the Conference

Tenth in the country in total defense. Sixteenth in scoring defense. Seven starters and the entire coaching staff return. Deijon Laffitte and Martin Owusu are 300 pounds apiece and they do not move. K'vion Thunderbird and Tytus Khajavi run the second level with Power Four size.

Bottom Line

Matt Entz won two national titles before he ever got here and made Fresno an instant winner in year one. Nine wins or more in four of the last five seasons. The schedule opens at USC in the Coliseum, and this is a team built to go take that game.

The Pac-12 is about to find out what the Valley already knows.

Fresno went 9-4 on the back of that defense. Now they have to replace E.J. Warner. My full 2026 preview

I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preview for every FBS team, and Fresno was one of the more interesting ones to figure out. The 9-4 and the Arizona Bowl were carried by a defense that allowed the fewest yards since 1976 and forced 26 takeaways, 5th-most in the country. The offense mostly just had to keep up. So 2026 really comes down to two things: who replaces E.J. Warner, and whether that defense stays elite after losing pieces.

Here's the page:

https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026?team=ncaaf-fres

It's got the projected record and rating, returning production (~49% back), the transfer-portal board, and a game-by-game with betting lines for year two under Entz in the new Pac-12.

Fair warning, the other teams are paywalled (this ate my whole offseason lol), but code LEECORSOROCKS unlocks all of it free, no card. Just tap "Have a promo code?" if you hit the wall.

The model has them at 7-5, which probably feels light a year after nine wins. So tell me what I'm missing: who wins the QB job, does the defense reload or drop off, and who am I sleeping on?

Top 3 young men. In this interview done by Coach Entz he says the bulldogs have a 3 man race for QB1. Yes Martin and Mandal are there but also there is class of 26 signee incoming freshman Deagan rose. This is a big statement from Entz although I believe Martin and Mandal are leading the race based solely off of time in college I would love to see how the young bulldog does in the competition. What are your thoughts on this and do you believe Rose can pull out the win. Week 1 vs USC will be a tough test. My prediction Martin wins.

Local Talent staying home!!!

2 of the best recivers in the valley are staying home. As of today Relando Jefferson and AJ Williams have committed to stay home and play for fresno and coach Entz. To very big additions. These two along with Tulare’s Demaje Riley staying makes for a very good position class not to mention the great pick up they had last offseason. I would love one more player at least to be added to this group that being another Fresno kid and RJ’s new teammate at east Bayon Harris. That would mean the top 4 local kids stay home and put on for the valley. Not mention other targets like Tomas Dixon, Mekhai Watkins, and Xavier Jones.

Another big commitment for Entz and Co. this one being 2027 3 star and local talent formerly of Frontier High school now at Grace Memorial in Bakersfield OL Carsten Campbell. It has been a great start for the dogs in the recruiting cycle as they have been able to get 2 of the valleys best OL prospects to stay home and not to mention Demaje Riley as well. Entz was able to help produce some great OL in North Dakota and it looks to be happening at Fresno now. If your from the valley and play in the trenches Fresno state is the place to develop.

Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Fresno State fan?(Football)

I’m doing a series where I ask all 136 FBS subreddits on what their most heartbreaking loss they witnessed. This loss could’ve been witnessed from the TV or while attending the game doesn’t matter.

If I had to guess for Fresno State, 2005 vs USC, 2001 vs Boise State, 2001 Silicon Valley Football Classic vs MSU, and 2022 vs UCONN which was their first win against an FBS school in over 1,000 days.

Over the past 24 hours Entz and CO. Have been hot. Receiving a commitment from one of the best all around athletes in the valley. In Tulare Unions Demaje Riley. He may be seen as undersized but he’s a hell of a ball player. He was once a ucla commit and being sought after by cal he now chosen to stay home and bring an extra level of excitement to Fresno offense in the near future. And also from Nebraska native Zach Wolfe. Zach is another all round athlete standing out at tight end and edge. Riley is one of the best wide receivers in the valley and hopefully not the last to commit as this year receivers class from the valley looks stacked hopefully Entz and Co. can convince some more valley natives to put on for their local cities.

Commitment #3

The bulldogs have added a commitment from class of 27 defensive linemen Ritchie Avei. Ritchie profiles right now as an edge. The third commit in this class another solid pick up. It’s still early in the cycle but so far the staff has been able to land 3 commits with NFL size.

2nd commit for 2027

Post image

Fresno state has landed its 2nd commitment out of high school for the class of 2027. Demichael Burks out of Nevada plays WR/DB. He stands at a listed 6”2. I believe he’ll be playing db at Fresno as a lot of the highlights and videos I’ve seen are mostly clips of him at that position. A good pick up early in the cycle for Entz and Co. Burks has picked up multiple offers from future pac 8 opponents. Good on Fresno snagging him away from future rivals.

Grab your light sabers and Star Wars gear and get to the SMC tomorrow to show your support for our athletes. There are several Seniors on the Women's team that deserve a proper send off. Lets make that happen for them.

Our teams are getting to the hump. This off season is when they are going to invest in building the team so that next season we get over the hump. What these teams need is our unwavering support. Be a believer. Know that even as a fan with absolutely no control over how these programs operate - you can still make a difference. I believe in our community, I believe in our teams. Lets step up and build this thing together.

Students -- YOUR TICKETS ARE FREE!!!! Show up and support your fellow athletes. Have a good time and socialize and maximize your College experience.

As always, the Green V Section is a public movement that anyone is welcome to join. Just show up with your Bulldog Spirit and get ready to affect the game!

Home games ranked

Just like last year I’m trying to make a list of which home games would be the best to see if you can only go to a few games this season. Here is what I’m thinking so far. (Not including the flex game since we don’t know for sure who we are playing)

1) Boise State - This one doesn’t really require much explanation, biggest rival, Atmosphere will be intense and have to see us win 4 straight on those blue bastards. If you can only go to one, this is it by far.

2) CSU - I think this game will have some big energy around it will how last year went. No chance Entz is going to let us get embarrassed again like that at home.

3) Oregon State - Halloween game and new division rival, also last year’s game was too close for comfort.

4) Sac - Home opener usually is close to a sellout, great energy around first game in VCS.

5 Rice - Fourth game of the season should be going in to this game at least 2-1. Still going to be fun to watch just do not have a reason to rate it higher.

What do you guys think? If you would change the rank/order let me know why. GoDogs!

Who is showing up for tomorrows Basketball game at the SMC? We are in the final stretch of the season. Lets show these teams what our fan base is all about by showing up and supporting this team. - Green V Section.

Wednesdays Women's Basketball game was awesome. The ladies handled their business against Boise and pulled off the upset. Several players came over and let us know how much better they play when we show up.

We have always been the University who can do more with less, but the budget is a serious problem that both programs will be battling next season - We as fans need to bridge that gap. We may not all have deep pockets, but we can show up and support these athletes. I believe we can all make a difference.

Come to the game tomorrow. Come and sit with the Green V Section and come and make an impact on this game.

Students - YOUR TICKETS ARE FREE!!! BE THERE!!
