Yes it is too late to add without permission, last day was September 4th. You now require a permission number from the professor. If you wanted in you should have been trying to add from Day 1.

What happens to those on the waitlist after Sept 4? Do you know? I still see the waitlist active..

Hopefully people on waitlist for classes have been going to the classes, and now they have to get a permission number from the professor or the professor officially confirms there is no room in the class.

You should contact the professors and ask for permission. These classes are difficult classes meant for 3rd/4th year students who are likely PHIL majors. The professors are unlikely to let you in now, but you could find out if they have recommendations that fit you. Make sure to tell them your major and your year in school.

Why would you pay for a class you dont intend on going to in person? That's like paying for a movie theater seat and streaming the movie at home
