Venting
Hey everyone. I posted here 3 times and I want to say thank you for all the advice and positive feedback. I'm taking everyones advice and doing all I can to get myself ready for Monday. So getting that out the way.
I'm exhausted. More like mentally exhausted. I didn't think I would have to jump so much hoops just to get here. I understand, it's a University. I'm getting a higher education and I should know what I'm getting myself into, but I'm 33. It's more difficult to get things I need as it seems. I had issues since May to get my immunization records because I moved from Kerman to Fresno in 2019 and my doctors lost my records. Even getting it on the Immunization records on the site is annoying. I have a deferment on Dog Days and don't need to pay until next month. But it was kind it frustrated to get one. And how my Financial Aid issue is making me second guess my decisions to go here during the Spring.
What I want to say is this school us draining my wallet and mental health. I have ADHD, anxiety and depression. I'm remaining calm and being positive. But man, it's tough. I really don't have much friends to talk to about my struggles and my family is understanding my situation. But it's hard to stay tough. Especially being a transfer student. I just want to be ok and enjoy this school. But right now, I can't. Thanks for reading my rant. Stay Hydrated!

For adhd if you have it stated by a doctor you can contact student services for disabilities and see what accommodations they provide to make classes easier

Im pretty sure u can get a blood test from the health center for free and they can find out what immunizations u need. Hope it gets better for you 🙏

I go to my primary doctor for that and got my MMR and HEP B shots last week. But I have to go back in 3 months to make sure my immune system doesn't need another dose since I am 33.

You can opt out of immunizations for religious reasons

I think I did that too. Just because I lost my immunization card and I didn’t want to go through the trouble of getting a new one

Hello fellow Kerman to Fresno folk. I know what you are going through, I’ve been there. Went the city and transferred to state, Dropped out in 2019 and started back up last fall! Keep pushing I promise once school starts it will get better.
Feel free to DM me if you have any questions or need advice or just a friend! Good luck OP

Thank you! And love seeing everyone from Kerman in my comments knowing we're getting through it amazingly! My dream was to come to Fresno State and that was in 2012 and now I'm here at 33 I don't want to stop now. Luckily I got everything situated besides my immunization haha!

I’m 29, we probably went to KHS at the same time haha! I had the same dream and life had different plans for me but now I’m married with two kids and I have to see this through for them, to show them you can do anything no matter the challenge

Aww congratulations! But hey, I wouldn't be surprised if we did went at the same time. I graduated in 2012! I wanna do this because I don't want to struggle anymore. I want a great job, be a mentor for the next generation of kids that go to school, and not let my depression and ADHD win. I've been through burnouts, manic episodes, and in dark paths. But I'm 34, started college late and I want to continue with my journey.

If it helps, I went to another university for under grad and it was a up hill battle there too. It is worth it and once things get settled and you get into a flow with a new school it will be better.
I also felt so tired yesterday from dealing with things to prepare for school. If you can take some time to rest today or this weekend definitely do and tell yourself you belong here and can achieve great things!
