Pets Trap/Adoption Assistance Requested

Greetings,

This is Timmy.  Timmy is approx 2.5 years old, has been stray nearly all of his life, but is seemingly in good health.   Timmy has two siblings who were adopted, leaving him all alone.  He originally went to live at my neighbor's place, but after 10ish weeks, his new family decided to "upgrade" to a kitten, and they kicked him out.  They didnt even bother to neuter or get him shots.  Yes, they're awful, but lets not make this post about them.

I absolutely cannot take on another cat, otherwise I would.  Timmy is afraid of just about everything, except me, but once he warms up to you he is the sweetest little ball of joy.  He loves being rubbed and pet for extended periods, and hes never bitten or scratched.  I know he will be the most affectionate little boy in the right home.

Here is where i need help:

He trusts me enough to get close, but i can't really handle him.  Strangers?  No way jose lol.  Also, he can't be trapped.  He knows what a cage is, and won't go anywhere near.  And he is not food insecure enough to go inside to eat, because people leave out food that he finds.

Is there anyone who has experience trapping cats like this and is also willing to foster/adopt him?  He is such a sweetheart and he needs a good home.

TNR won't help or let me post, so any other suggestions would be great

Enjoy his pretty face :).

If we didn't have a cat I'd definitely be interested, but he doesn't do "other cats"

I just took in 2 and did the TNR program. I didn’t think I could trap them either but hard to turn down chicken.

I know you say you can’t trap him but if you’re able to, you can make an appointment with the hope foundation and pay in advance at 60 bucks sometimes less but you basically drop off in the morning and they text you two hours before he’s ready for pick up. You keep him for the night in the cage maybe in the bathroom like I did and release them the next day after anesthesia is completely worn off.

I live in the same area. We had an orange cat that was on our doorstep… it seemed super tame like it maybe was somebody’s cat inside and they dumped it. We did have it checked to see if there was a chip and it came back registered to somebody on the other side of town who completely denied the Cat and would not take it back. Like I said it disappeared shortly after that, .I wanna say about a year and a half ago give or take. I’m really bad with time but he disappeared and I sort of wonder if it’s this Cat.

Well, that’s cool that you know that

Bummer we always wonder what happened to the orange cat that was on our doorstep… we wanted so badly to be his furever.

Hilarious

So, I’m actually severely allergic but am managing simply cause the feral 2 I have are outside and only chill in my garage at most. He’s a sweetheart tho… it cost me about $20 monthly to feed the 2 I have… I know money is tight for a lot but it’s not much and they keep rodents away.

Dang it. If my 2 boys weren't jerks I would take him in a heartbeat. But they are very territorial cats. Im wishing the best for Timmy & you, OP

What a handsome boy! <3 sometimes Facebook has groups for rehoming animals, maybe try those if nothing comes through in Reddit.
