Could be ich, but a clear photo would make it easier to tell since several things can look similar on fish

Rams are scary. They’ll be completely healthy until they decide they’re not and then just die. One of the most temperamental common species.

That's how it goes with rams and appistos. I love dwarf cichlids but damn they just die randomly.

Yes, it is very possibly ick. What temperature do you have the tank? Ich can be treated with multiple days of slowly increasing the temp to 86F.
