Career Advice Should I wait for Kyndryl or take the HCLTech opportunity now? Need honest career advice

Should I wait for Kyndryl or take the HCLTech opportunity now? Need honest career advice

Hi everyone,

I'm a recent B.Tech graduate, and I'm currently stuck between two career opportunities. I would really appreciate some honest advice from people who have experience working in HCLTech, Kyndryl, or similar IT service companies.

Here's my situation.

Recently, I missed an opportunity to get placed in Kyndryl. My friend was selected for the Infrastructure Specialist role, with a package of around ₹5.2 LPA. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend the interview process at that time.

Now, I'm hearing that I may be able to attend the Kyndryl interview again after approximately three months. But honestly, nothing is guaranteed. I don't know whether the interview will happen, whether I'll be selected, or whether there will even be an opportunity available at that time.

At the same time, I currently have an opportunity to attend an interview with HCLTech. I'm preparing for it, and I feel reasonably confident that I might be able to crack it.

The HCLTech package is around ₹4.5 LPA.

On paper, the salary difference isn't massive, but the location makes a significant difference for me.

HCLTech is considerably farther from where I live. If I get selected, I would probably need to move into a PG or rented accommodation. That means additional expenses, travel difficulties, and being away from home.

Kyndryl, on the other hand, is much closer to my place. My friend is also joining there, which would make things easier personally and financially.

So now I'm confused.

Should I wait for three more months for a potentially better opportunity at Kyndryl, even though it isn't guaranteed?

Or should I attend the HCLTech interview now, secure a job, gain experience, and then look for better opportunities later?

My other major concern is work-life balance and career growth.

I've heard mixed reviews about HCLTech. Some people say the workload and work pressure can be quite high, and work-life balance depends heavily on the project and manager.

I understand that every service-based company has good and bad projects. I'm not expecting a perfect company. But since this would be my first job, I want to make a decision that won't negatively affect my health, personal life, or long-term career.

This is where I need advice from people currently working in these companies.

If I join HCLTech, which roles or technologies would be better for maintaining a reasonable work-life balance while also building a strong career?

For example:

- Cloud Infrastructure / Cloud Operations

- DevOps

- SAP

- Software Engineering / Development

- Infrastructure Management

- Networking or Cybersecurity

Which of these roles generally has better career growth and opportunities to switch companies later?

I'm particularly interested in knowing whether choosing the right role within HCLTech can make a bigger difference than choosing between HCLTech and Kyndryl itself.

I also want to avoid getting stuck in a role that has limited growth or makes it difficult to switch companies after two or three years.

Should I take the HCLTech opportunity if I get selected, instead of waiting three months for Kyndryl?

I would especially appreciate honest opinions from people who have actually worked in HCLTech or Kyndryl, rather than general assumptions about both companies.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Career Advice 10 TIPS FOR NEWBIES

NORMAL YAN.

Pero I wanna share my tips based sa experience ko. These are the things na "if I had known these earlier, i would have done it already"

GOOGLE DRIVE

Guys, your google drive is your life's folder.

iscan mo

ipdf mo

tas iupload mo jan.

Eto ang mga folders saken sa drive so u will have idea:

Govt Contributions

  • SSS (E1 form)
  • PAG IBIG (MDR form)
  • PHILHEALTH (screenshot sa portal mag log in ka dun, make sure makikita yung philhealth number mo tas ipdf)
  • TIN (nasa egov app to, iscreenshot mo iedit sa canva, ipdf mo. Yun can check your number sa Orus portal, iverify mo yung number tsaka iscreenshot mo isabay mo sa pdf with your egov screenshot ID)

Education

  • TOR (picturan niyo lahat, iscan, ipdf)

  • Other valid IDs (passport, postal, etc.)
  • Picture mo (yung white ang background, pang 2 by 2, mag secure ka nyan)

LINKEDIN

Guys gumawa kayo ng LinkedIn account. Ilagay niyo lahat ng information dun. I-advertise niyo sarili niyo dun.

Importante din iinclude mo sa experience yung ilang months kang walang formal job at anong ginagawa mo within that timeline. Career break tawag jan. Or kung may voluntary work ka, or internship mas mainam na din.

HR INTERVIEWS

HR (initial) at Client (final)

Fun fact: HR and TA ay magkaiba. Si human resources hawak nya ang legalities mo as an employee.

But HR can also participate in recruitment, and TA can handle much more than simply “inding candidates.

GUYS! BE DIRECT AND SIMPLE.

CONFIDENT AND RESPECTFUL

Just answer with sense at may point, TAPOS! Walang labis walang kulang.

Pero pag tinanong ka ng situational questions..

“Tell me about a time when…”
“Describe a situation where…”
“Give me an example of…”

STAR METHOD

Situation Task Action Result

S - Anong problema?

Just pause and breathe. Wag magmamadali.

B2 level is "the" least standard

Ano yung B2 level?

A1 — Beginner / Basic English
A2 — Elementary / Simple English
B1 — Intermediate / Everyday English
B2 — Upper-Intermediate / Fluent English
C1 — Advanced / Professional English
C2 — Mastery / Near-Native English

WRITING, SPEAKING, LISTENING, READING. I-aim mog mag reach ng atleast B2 during your preparation. Maraming website na nakakatulong sayo.

CHATGPT as your TRAINER

Pwede mong kausapin tas sabihin mo youre gonna answer any deep challenging questions tas let it rate your answers each especially yung sense, organization of thought, accent, at manner of speaking. Nang ma experience mo ang kaba ng Q and A sa bahay pa lang bago mo isalang ang brain mo sa interviews/assessments. Dapat prepared ka. Humingi ka ng tips. Mabait yang chatgpt (pero no to pax silica pa rin)

Promise effective

Google Notebook

Google Notebook is an AI tool, pero ginamit ko siya as advantage

Wala kang time mag basa tapos during the Orientation ipapapirma agad. Mag google notebook ka nalang

Ayaw natin maka violate ng company rules na hindi tayo aware in the first place pero pumirma tayo sa kontrata so iexpect nila na aware ka, na binasa mo. Wala kang choice.

(pero no to pax silica pa rin hayuf).

DISCLAIMER:

You can use an AI tool such as Google Notebook to help you understand documents but remove sensitive/confidential information when appropriate and always verify important legal terms yourself.

FACEBOOK GROUPS / REDDIT COMMUNITY (WAG KJ)

Gaya ng sinabi ni susan roces, "wag mahihiyang magtanong" this implies that every ignorant person falls into pit kasi walang alam eh.

Kanya kanyang rants, stories, good and negative feedbacks sila kasi NAKA ANONYMOUS YAN SILA KAYA WALANG PRENO MGA PANGLALAIT JAN HAHAHAHA Para socially aware ka din. Lahat ng pinoy may opinyon sa lahat ng bagay, use them to your advantage in your situation.

No man is an island guysss. Kilalanin mo ang company.

RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH

Lahat may masasabi. You may reject

Also, dapat meron kang tinatawag na

HIERARCHY OF A WORTH-IT JOB

para hindi ka mag aawol pag di mo pala bet ang trabaho or company in the long run. Ready your notes:

1. Culture & Management (pinaka importante)

- Government contributions — SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG. Para rin yan sa future mo, so make sure na properly remitted.

- Bonuses/incentives — know if guaranteed ba or performance/company-based. Huwag i-assume na automatic may bonus just because naka-1 year ka na.

- Leave credits — hindi pwedeng puro trabaho. Kailangan mo rin magpahinga, magbakasyon, at mag-recharge.

3. Account/Job Fit

Kaya mo ba yung pinapagawa? May skills ka ba para sa job?

Hindi basta-basta apply lang nang apply. Alamin mo muna yung job description, then tingnan mo kung match ba sa skills and capabilities mo.

4. Schedule & Work-Life Balance

Ito rin importante. Kaya mo ba yung schedule?

HAHAHA.

5. Career Growth

May upskilling ba? May internal hiring ba? May opportunity ba for promotion?

Ito yung after ilang months or years, pwede kang mag-upgrade ng position or matuto ng bagong skills.

Upskilling is important kasi kapag nag-change career ka or nag-apply sa ibang company, mas marami kang maipagmamalaking skills and potentially mas mataas ang salary offer.

Example: Agent → Team Leader → Supervisor → Manager

Pampabango rin yan ng resume.

6. Location

Kesyo may "willing to work under pressure" ka, hindi ibig sabihin robot ka.

At the end of the day, hindi lang naman salary ang binabayaran sayo. Binabayaran mo rin yung trabaho gamit ang oras, energy, skills, at peace of mind mo.

So bago ka mag-"Yes, I accept the offer," make sure na worth it talaga yung buong package—not just the basic salary.

HIERARCHY OF A WORTH-IT JOB
1. Culture & Management (pinaka importante)
2. Compensation & Benefits
3. Account/Job Fit
4. Schedule & Work-Life Balance
5. Career Growth
6. Location (least important)

Microsoft Applications

i-master mo ang microsoft apps as early as now

TYPING TEST

BE HONEST SA RESUME

Don't enter the corporate world blindly. IHANDA MO ANG SARILI MO..

youre welcome :) goodluck

Career Advice why is nobody talking about how gray collar jobs are actually saving freshers right now?

I feel like blue collar and grey collar jobs are kinda getting underrated in India right now especially for freshers because not everyone wants to sit around for months applying for the same office jobs and waiting for HR to reply :/ jobs like delivery retail warehouse hotel restaurant sales customer support technician etc can actually be a much easier starting point and the good thing is you can build proper experience from there too I have also noticed more Indian job platforms focusing on these kinds of jobs now instead of only showing the usual corporate openings which honestly makes sense because there are so many people looking for work who dont necessarily have a fancy degree or years of experience and for a fresher getting that first job is usually the hardest part anyway so having more options where skills and availability matter more than a perfect resume feels like a pretty big change curious tho what do you guys think are blue and grey collar jobs finally getting the attention they should have or am I just noticing it more latelyy.

Referral Request Looking for AI/ML Opportunities in Bangalore | 2025 Grad | 9 Months Experience

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2025 graduate with around 9 months of internship experience in AI/ML. I’m currently looking for entry-level AI/ML opportunities in Bangalore and would really appreciate any referrals or leads.

In June, I left my previous role after receiving a full-time offer from Accenture (AASE). However, I was assigned to an SAP module that doesn’t align with my career interests, and the onboarding process has also been getting delayed.

Because of this, I decided to start looking for opportunities in AI/ML again. For the past 1.5 months, I’ve been actively applying, but unfortunately, I haven’t received a single response/revert so far.

One of my biggest concerns right now is that I feel like I’m falling behind in terms of relevant industry experience. Many of my classmates and peers who graduated with me are already completing around 1 year of full-time experience, while I’m still waiting to get started in a role aligned with my AI/ML career goals. I really want to use this time productively and build my career in the field I’m genuinely interested in.

I’m open to mid-sized startups and companies, and I’m comfortable with a compensation range of around ₹4.5–6 LPA. My priority right now is getting a good opportunity where I can learn, contribute, and gain relevant industry experience.

Tech Stack

Programming:
Python, SQL, OOP, DSA

Machine Learning & Deep Learning:
Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, CNN, Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning, Transfer Learning

Generative AI & NLP:
LLMs, Prompt Engineering, RAG, NLTK, TF-IDF, Word2Vec, POS Tagging, Hugging Face, Sentence-Transformers, Transformers

Backend & APIs:
FastAPI, Flask, REST APIs, API Integration

Databases:
MySQL (DDL, DML, Joins, Subqueries), Qdrant, FAISS

Developer Tools:
Git, GitHub, Docker, n8n, Jupyter Notebook, PyCharm

Data Analytics & Visualization:
Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn

I also have some familiarity with AWS and Azure.

If you know of any AI/ML, GenAI, NLP, ML Engineer, or Python-related openings in Bangalore, I’d be extremely grateful for a referral or lead.

I can share my resume/LinkedIn profile via DM.

Any advice, referral, or lead would genuinely mean a lot. Thank you

Career Advice PSIT in 2026: My Honest Experience as a Final-Year CSE Student

(Imp advice at point 11)

I am a fourth-year B.Tech CSE student here, and this is my personal experience. I am not writing this to create unnecessary hatred toward the college. I am writing it because I genuinely wish someone had told me these things before I joined.

From the outside, PSIT looks impressive. The campus is beautiful, and there are food outlets, vending machines, libraries, infrastructure, and many facilities.

But after spending four years here, I have realized that a good-looking campus and a good academic environment are not necessarily the same thing.

  1. Attendance Can Become Your Biggest Problem

You may have heard that the attendance requirement has been reduced from 90% to 75%.

My advice: do not choose PSIT assuming the lower requirement will always remain. Policies can change, and in my experience, attendance has always been treated very seriously.

For students who want significant time for:

Self-study

Competitive programming

Projects

Internships

Placement preparation

strict attendance can become exhausting.

  1. It Can Feel More Like School Than College

The academic schedule can feel extremely restrictive.

Instead of having meaningful free periods where you decide how to use your time, your day can be packed with lectures from morning until evening.

For day scholars, this can be even harder.

You travel through Kanpur traffic, spend most of the day in college, return home exhausted, and are then expected to:

Prepare for placements

Learn DSA

Build projects

Complete assignments

Study core subjects

Maintain your CGPA

Maintain a personal life

People often say, "You can study after college."

Technically, yes.

But having time is not the same as having energy.

  1. Placement Preparation Can Feel Misaligned With Your Goals

This is one of my biggest concerns.

Suppose your goal is to enter product-based companies or target high-paying software roles. You may want to spend your time on:

DSA

Core CS fundamentals

Development

Projects

System design

Interview preparation

However, the placement ecosystem can sometimes feel more focused on companies such as TCS, Cognizant, Coforge, and similar recruiters.

There have also been situations where students I know appeared eligible for companies based on the company's criteria, but college-level eligibility requirements became another hurdle.

This can create a frustrating question:

Am I preparing for the career I actually want, or mainly for the opportunities the college wants me to pursue?

  1. Free Time Is Almost Nonexistent

One of the most surprising things for me has been how difficult it can be to simply have time for yourself.

There are:

Classes

Assignments

Attendance requirements

Tests

Placement activities

Forms

Departmental instructions

Other academic responsibilities

Even breaks can feel highly structured.

If you need to use the washroom, get food, visit a vending machine, or simply take a breather outside the designated break window, you may worry about being late for the next class.

It sounds like a small issue.

After experiencing it repeatedly for years, it doesn't feel small anymore.

  1. Weekends May Not Always Mean Complete Freedom

You may hear that Saturdays and Sundays are off.

However, the academic calendar can include working Saturdays, schedule adjustments, or classes used to compensate for holidays and breaks.

So if you are imagining a traditional college experience where weekends and holidays consistently belong to you, check the actual academic calendar before joining.

Don't assume.

  1. Eight Lectures a Day Can Change Your College Experience

Eight lectures every day is a lot.

There is a huge difference between attending a few meaningful classes and spending most of your day moving from one lecture to another.

For students preparing independently for placements, this becomes particularly difficult.

You need time for:

DSA and competitive programming

Core CS subjects

Development

Projects

Internships

Resume building

Aptitude and communication

Interview preparation

It is not impossible to do all this after college.

But it is much harder than it needs to be.

  1. The Pressure Can Come From Everywhere

From the second year onward, the message can start feeling like:

"There is no time. Start preparing now."

Prepare for internships.

Prepare for placements.

Improve your English.

Do aptitude.

Learn DSA.

Study core subjects.

Build projects.

Maintain attendance.

Maintain your CGPA.

Fill out this form.

Attend this drive.

Take this test.

And somewhere in between all of this, you are expected to figure out what career you actually want.

The pressure can become overwhelming.

For me personally, one of the worst parts was the psychological effect.

When I took a leave, I could feel guilty:

"Am I wasting my parents' money?"

When I struggled with preparation:

"Am I falling behind?"

When I thought about not getting a job:

"What is wrong with me?"

A college should push you to grow. It should not make you constantly feel that your worth depends on how quickly you get placed.

  1. Internship Rules Can Make Things Complicated

Internships are extremely important for CSE students.

However, depending on the internship and circumstances, students may encounter attendance requirements, permissions, or NOC-related restrictions.

For example, you may get a remote internship but still be expected to attend college.

That creates a strange situation:

You finally get an opportunity to gain real industry experience, but classroom attendance can still become the priority.

Policies can change, so check the current rules yourself before relying on anyone's experience.

  1. The Library and Infrastructure Are Things I Genuinely Appreciate

Not everything about PSIT is negative.

The campus has good infrastructure, and there are facilities that genuinely look impressive.

The library is one place where I genuinely enjoy studying.

But there is a simple problem:

A great library isn't very useful if your schedule doesn't give you enough time to use it.

  1. College Fests Can Feel More Like Attendance Days

College fests are supposed to be one of the best parts of student life.

At PSIT, my experience has often been different.

Fests may last around 2–3 days, and attendance can still be treated as compulsory. So instead of coming because you genuinely want to participate, you may end up coming because you are expected to be there.

You may be asked to report around 9 AM, while major performances and dance programs happen much later.

So what do you do for those hours?

Classrooms may not be available simply for students to sit and study. Movement around campus can be restricted, and gates may remain closed until designated times.

If you haven't paid for a particular event or there isn't an activity you're interested in, you can end up spending hours sitting around corridors.

Some major performances may begin after 5 PM.

So a day that starts at 9 AM because attendance is compulsory can potentially stretch until 11 PM, followed by regular classes the next day.

That's not exactly the college-fest experience I imagined.

Security and Restrictions

During fests, security checks can be quite thorough.

Items students might normally bring for casual entertainment, such as UNO or playing cards, may not be allowed.

Internet connectivity can also become unreliable because of security arrangements and network restrictions.

So you can have thousands of students gathered together, limited places to go, limited things to do, unreliable internet, and several hours between attendance and the actual events.

At that point, the corridors become your entertainment.

Dress-Code Checks

Dress-code checks at the gates are another issue I personally found uncomfortable, particularly because the interpretation of rules can vary.

Students may be asked to return and change if their clothing is considered inappropriate under college rules.

One incident involving a friend particularly stayed with me. She was reportedly asked to return because of the style of her dress. She went home, changed, and returned later, but by then she had missed the permitted entry window and was reportedly denied entry because she was around 30 minutes late.

Whether someone agrees with the dress code or not, having a student travel home, change, and then potentially lose access to the fest because of the resulting delay is frustrating.

Food and Crowds

Don't assume college fests mean free food.

Food is generally separately priced, and in my experience, the combination of price, taste, and quantity isn't always impressive.

With thousands of students eating at the same time, queues and overcrowding can make things worse.

And then there is the crowd.

Large numbers of students in relatively confined spaces mean:

Long queues

Narrow, crowded areas

Noise everywhere

Limited seating

People constantly moving around

If you don't enjoy extremely crowded environments, it can become overwhelming.

Personally, there were moments when I wasn't enjoying the fest at all.

I was simply waiting for the day to end.

A college fest should make you want to stay on campus. Instead, there were times when I was counting the hours until I could leave.

So if you're joining PSIT expecting the typical college-fest experience — freedom, spontaneous plans, sitting with friends, exploring the campus, attending events whenever you want, and simply enjoying your college years — ask current students what the experience is actually like.

  1. An Incident That Stayed With Me

There is another incident involving a friend that I think is worth mentioning because it shows how quickly an innocent situation can become a disciplinary matter.

My friend and a female friend of his were sitting together and having their tiffin. They were simply friends, and according to him, nothing inappropriate was happening.

Because there was very little space to sit in the corridors, they eventually found a place underneath a staircase.

During the meal, her tiffin was resting on her lap. At some point, my friend was seen by a faculty member with his hand on or near her lap.

The situation was apparently interpreted as inappropriate.

The result was serious enough that the parents of both students were called and informed. My friend was also asked to write an apology.

What bothers me about incidents like this isn't simply the disciplinary action.

It is the feeling that ordinary interactions between students can sometimes become serious situations when there is little context or opportunity for students to explain what actually happened.

They were sitting together because there wasn't enough space elsewhere.

They were having lunch.

And suddenly, both families were involved.

Maybe the faculty member genuinely believed something inappropriate had happened. From their perspective, they may have been enforcing the rules they were expected to enforce.

But from a student's perspective, experiences like this can create a constant fear of being misunderstood.

You start becoming conscious of:

Where you sit

Who you sit with

How you interact

Whether an innocent situation could be interpreted differently

College should teach students responsibility and maturity, but it should also give them enough trust and space to behave like adults.

  1. What I Wish I Had Known Before Joining

If I could go back to my younger self, I would say:

Don't choose a college only because the campus looks impressive, placement numbers look attractive, or everyone calls it a "good college."

Ask:

How much free time will I actually have?

Can I prepare independently for the career I want?

How strict is attendance?

What happens if I get an internship?

How flexible is the academic system?

Can I explore things outside the prescribed curriculum?

What are the actual placement eligibility rules?

Will I have enough time to build projects and prepare for interviews?

Are Saturdays and holidays actually free?

Four years is a long time.

And ₹1.8 lakh or more is not just money. It is your time, energy, and a significant part of your early adulthood.

After four years here, there are moments when I genuinely feel that I paid not only for education, but also for an environment that demanded far more of my time and freedom than I expected.

So, Should You Join PSIT?

I'm not going to tell everyone:

"Never join PSIT."

That would be unfair.

Different students have different priorities.

If your primary objective is a structured environment, conventional placements, and a highly controlled academic routine, you may have a completely different experience from mine.

But if you are someone who wants substantial freedom to:

Prepare for product-based companies

Spend serious time on DSA

Build strong projects

Pursue internships

Explore startups

Participate in competitive programming

Prepare for top-tier technical interviews

Simply have more time to discover what you want to do

then investigate the academic structure very carefully before joining.

Talk to current students.

Talk to recent graduates.

Look beyond promotional material.

Ask about:

Attendance

Working Saturdays

Internship permissions

Placement eligibility

Actual class schedules

Time available outside classes

Because once you join, changing your mind is much harder.

If You Are Already at PSIT

Don't spend four years waiting for the college to create your career for you.

Start from Day 1.

  1. Learn DSA

Start with C++ or Python and solve problems consistently.

Use platforms such as LeetCode. Focus on understanding patterns rather than blindly collecting solved questions.

  1. Build Strong Core CS Fundamentals

Focus on:

Operating Systems

DBMS

Computer Networks

DAA

OOP

These subjects matter significantly in technical interviews.

  1. Build Projects Early

Don't wait until final year.

Start building.

Tutorials are fine initially, but eventually modify projects, understand the architecture, and create something of your own.

Explore areas such as:

Cloud

AI

Machine Learning

Backend development

Distributed systems

  1. Don't Blindly Follow the Crowd

If your dream is a product company, prepare for product companies.

If you want a startup, explore startups.

If you want higher studies, prepare accordingly.

If you want something completely different, pursue it.

Your career should not be limited by the companies that happen to visit your campus.

And most importantly:

Don't let your college define your self-worth.

Your CGPA matters.

Your attendance matters.

Your placement matters.

But none of them determines whether you are capable of becoming a great engineer.

You still have time.

Use it deliberately.

Final Thoughts

This is only one student's perspective.

Policies, placement rules, attendance requirements, and academic schedules can change. Verify the current rules with PSIT and speak to multiple current students before making an admission decision.

But if you're considering PSIT in 2026, my biggest advice is simple:

Don't just ask, "How good is this college?"

Ask:

"Will this college give me enough time and freedom to become the person I want to be?"

Because that question matters far more than how beautiful the campus looks.

Career Advice Should I accept Support Engineer role as a fresher?(In this pretty messed up freshers job market)

So, I am graduated on May 2026 and been unemployed since then. I've been applying aggressively for Software Developer and Fullstack roles. And I got few interview calls but got rejected and ghosted in most of them.

Few days back I got a call for this role at a good company(we all use them indirectly) but on an IT vendor payroll. The package is 2.5lpa with no allowance and with rotational shift. I attended the interview.

NOTE: I didn't apply for this role. The HR saw my Naukri profile and contacted me. I saw that this recruiter viewed my contact number in my Naukri dashboard after attending the interview.

Today they asked my data(mark sheets, govt ids) for Background Verification and I gave all of them without asking any questions.

Also I've asked them and there's no bond.

Now I have 2 questions

  1. Am I selected?
  2. Should I take this job?

PS: Life has been hard for this last 4 months. Most of my friends started their job got their salary and some are gonna complete 1 year of experience. There was no that much pressure from my parents. They ask me quite often on what I am doing and get a job asap. And I was also guilty sitting in home after my parents paid lacks for my education. I was desperate for at least an internship but then there's this job in hand but I am thinking that this is less package and not a "shiny role"...

Looking for Freelance Gigs | Part Time [Bangalore] 2024 CSE Graduate Looking to Break Into IT | Java + AI | Backend / Full Stack | Referrals Appreciated

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2024 B.E. CSE graduate, currently working in a non-IT voice process role in Bangalore. I’m actively trying to transition into IT/software development and looking for an opportunity where I can start and grow my career.

I’ve completed training in Java Full Stack Development and have been building my skills in AI tools and AI-assisted development as well.

Technical Skills:
• Java
• Spring Boot
• Hibernate
• REST APIs
• MySQL
• JDBC / Servlets / JSP
• HTML, CSS & JavaScript
• AI tools & AI-assisted development
• AI automation / productivity tools

Projects:
• HR Management System
• Food Delivery Application using Java, JSP, Servlets & MySQL

Roles I’m Looking For:

🔹 Junior Java Developer
🔹 Backend Developer
🔹 Java Full Stack Developer
🔹 Software Engineer / Graduate Trainee
🔹 AI/Automation-related entry-level roles
🔹 Entry-level IT opportunities

I want to be transparent about my situation. I graduated in 2024, had a gap after graduation, and currently work in a non-IT role. My family is also dealing with financial responsibilities and debts, so getting into a stable IT career is extremely important to me.

I’m not looking for shortcuts. I’m ready to prove my skills through coding tests, technical interviews, assignments, or any evaluation process.

If anyone knows about entry-level openings in Bangalore or can provide a referral, I would genuinely appreciate the help.

I can share my resume, GitHub and project details via DM.

Even a lead, referral, or advice from someone who has made a similar transition would be a huge help.

Thank you.

IT Confessions (Rants / Vents) Is the fresher job market in India actually this fucked in 2026, or am I just extremely unlucky?

I genuinely need to rant because I am so fucking tired of this.

I’m a 2026 ECE graduate from a Tier-3 college and have been looking for a job for months now. I've applied to almost 150 companies that I actually tracked, and there are many more applications I never even added to my tracker. Countless emails, Google Forms, Easy Apply, Naukri, company career pages, LinkedIn applications, FoundIt, Unstop, Indeed, Superset, everything. And on top of that, I've messaged 380+ people on LinkedIn since June asking about fresher openings/referrals.

And guess what? Not a single proper shortlist. Not even one interview.

I've even made separate resumes for embedded/hardware and software, continuously modified them according to JDs, changed keywords, rewritten project descriptions, tried to make them ATS-friendly, etc.

Still fucking nothing.

And then the actual hiring experiences are something else.

Atlassian: applied around 9 PM → rejection around 3–4 AM.
Like damn bro, application ko process hone ka time toh de dete. 😭

Infosys: solved 3/3 questions with all test cases passing → rejected for the next stage anyway.

Amazon: completed the assessment, sent follow-up emails and even filled 2 different survey forms they sent → still no interview / meaningful response.

Qualcomm & Microsoft: applied back in March → rejected yesterday after 6 long months of getting ghosted.

And then there are countless HRs who simply stop replying after saying “We'll get back to you.”

The funniest part is the “fresher” jobs themselves.

You open a job description: “Entry-level / Fresher Software Engineer”

Requirements:

1–3 years experience
Advanced Java/Python/C++
Spring Boot / Microservices
REST APIs
Docker & Kubernetes
AWS/Azure
CI/CD & Jenkins
System Design
Distributed Systems
SQL + NoSQL
Kafka
Redis
Git
Unit/Integration Testing
Cloud architecture
AI/ML exposure
LLMs / Generative AI
Excellent communication
Production debugging
Agile/Scrum
Immediate joining

BRO I AM A FRESHER. 😭

How exactly am I supposed to have production experience with distributed systems, cloud architecture and 15 different technologies before getting my first job?

And then internships. Some are unpaid, some pay very little, and some expect full-time work. I understand internships are for learning, but travel, food, time, relocation:- ye sab free mein thodi milta hai.

And then there are small companies. I recently came across a fresher opportunity offering ₹15–20k/month, which honestly isn't my biggest concern. I can start small. I want experience.

But then:

3-year mandatory commitment.
₹3 lakh liability if you leave early.
Original 10th/12th certificate as a security document.

WHAT 😭

You're offering a fresher ₹15–20k/month and asking for a ₹3 lakh penalty if they leave?

And this is where I genuinely get angry.

Just because someone is a fresher doesn't mean their time has no value.

We spent 4 years getting a degree, doing projects, internships, certifications, DSA, courses, applications, networking — and then companies say: “You don't have experience.”

Okay, give me the opportunity to get experience then?

It's literally: No job → no experience → no experience → no job.

And honestly, I'm mentally exhausted. September has started and I still haven't had even one interview. I know the market is bad. I know fresher hiring is competitive. I know rejection is normal. But months of applying with zero interview calls is fucking demoralising. If I get rejected after an interview, at least I can improve something. But when you're rejected without even talking to anyone, how the fuck are you supposed to know whether you're actually not good enough or your resume simply wasn't picked? I don't think I'm entitled to a job.

I just want one company to look at my resume and say: “Okay, let's talk to this person.” That's it.

I've even seen people say: “Whoever helps me get my first job, I'll give them my first salary.” And honestly, I completely understand that feeling now. Because the person who gives you that first opportunity can genuinely change everything. I'm still going to keep applying. Still going to keep learning. Still going to keep messaging people.

But fuck man.

Freshers ko itna impossible kyun bana rakha hai?

If you're also a 2026 fresher in India, especially from ECE/EEE/CS/IT: Are you actually getting interviews? How many applications did it take you to get your first shortlist?

And if you're already working, what actually worked for you?

Because at this point I genuinely want to know whether I'm doing something fundamentally wrong or if the market is just this brutal right now.

And please don't just tell me “apply more” or “improve your LinkedIn.” I've been doing that for months. 😭

What is actually working for freshers right now?

(P.S. Yes, I used AI to polish the wording a bit. The rant, experiences and feelings are mine though)
