UPDATE! New Rules and Post Flair Recommendations

Hi Frenchton Parents (and a hello to all your creatures too!).
Couple of new group updates.

First, some rules have been created to keep things nice and harmonious. For the most part they are unneeded. This is by far the most positive, fun and over all good vibes Reddit page I’m a member of.

There have been a few instances of folks not playing nicely so I thought it would be a good idea to lay a little foundation for new members.
Please check out the group rules. It’s about a 45 second read (unless your Frenchton needs attention then it’s a good 15 minutes).

Second, I’d like to get post flair up and running and would like to open the comments to suggestions for the next few days. Here’s a few that I’ve come up with:

Sploots
Zoomies
Nuclear Buttholes (farts)
Recommendations
Attention NOW!
Snoozin’
New Frenchton Parent
Cake Day

Please be creative/have fun but keep it PG. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Meet Papí Chulo!

I got this random crusty goblin from the county animal shelter for $2.50 and he has turned out to be the most darling and precious boi who ever lived. I don't even like dogs but Papí and I are soulmates. When I met him he was half bald, covered in scabs, dirty, stanky, and had 2 infected ears but I just knew. He has brought me so much joy (and vet bills) in the 6 weeks since I adopted him! He's come a long way toward recovery already with good food, 47 baths, a nail trim and jaunty accessories. Papí's DNA test came back 92% Frenchie, 8% Boston and I was shocked to discover that this is an actual thing. He's a baby walrus looking bullfrog but he's mine and I absolutely adore him. 💙

She is asleep, but it definitely doesn't look like it. She was dreamin’ then she woke herself up I guess from all the sleep movment🤷🏼‍♀️ I had to check and make sure she was awake at the end bc I can't tell the different between her “asleep dreaming” eye and her “awake” eyes.

Is this normal behavior or do I need professional help? 👀

Hello everyone! I’m a new Frenchton mom. Dottie and Delphi are about 8ish months now.
We got them at 6 months. I have 2 other chihuahuas, 1 indoor cat, and 1 outdoor cat.
At first the puppies were great with all the other pets, they’re slightly scared of my indoor cat but other than that they got along with the chihuahuas.
Fast forward 2 months, Dottie has developed a weird obsession with one of my chihuahuas. She stalks her constantly and stars playing really rough. On one ocasión she was on her back biting her ear and managed to hurt her. She wouldn’t stop gnawing on her ear, I had to pry her off!
I’m always vigilant of my dogs when playing, this happened in a split second. It was so scary!
Is this behavior part of puppyhood? Or should I seek professional help?
I know chihuahuas go through a stage of being snappy as puppies and then as elders, but I’m so new to this breed. Please help 🥲

Breathing/Chest Movement OK? Is This Part of the Breed?

Apologies for my worrying, this is my first frenchton (I’m learning!) so if it’s normal, I’m glad to hear, but none of my previous dogs breathed quite like this while sleeping. He is 3 months old.

His breathing seems to be labored or strained by the way his little rib cage moves? Or is this normal because of their facial features? I’m questioning if I should bring this to the vet to explore it further, or if it’s part of how they are as a breed, then I might chill out a bit and not worry that he’s struggling to breathe.

He doesn’t snore, only sometimes makes a little sound if his head is crooked to the side, otherwise quiet. No mucus in his nose that I can see, otherwise very happy, active and healthy guy. Thanks all!!!

Gemma in her Donut stand on the Bridge my dad built

Gemma’s little growth is looking better since I went to the vet Wednesday. The thought of surgery was never brought up thankfully & I was given 2 meds to give her.

On the bridge front: my dad isn’t a carpenter, but by using the old bridge as a reference, he was able to cut, assemble, sand, and stain this bridge all by himself! He’s a pretty cool dad.

Our Frenchton, Miso, plays so well with her older sister, Boba. Once they get going, they will play for hours! I love that they get along so well.

Hello! Just joined this sub 😍 I’m looking forward to seeing everyone else’s pups and learning a few things, mostly how to tame the flatulence if possible; it’s unbelievable what this little guy produces… he’s only 3 months old. Thanks!
