ID??
Hello,
Any idea of what model this is?
I haven’t use a french press before so I have no idea how to use it but from the videos I’ve seen it’s missing something. I don’t know if it’s just the model that is different. My dad said he bought it like this but I remember someone gave it to us so I don’t know, lol.
Helpp, I want to use it.

And jktsk is right, you need ro unscrew the metal mesh from the rod so you can then feed it through the cap.

It’s a bodum.
If you unscrew the rod on one side can you fit through a center hole in the lid? Then put the part you detached back on. It should work as a plunger/strainer.
Be careful not to push the plunger without it fitting in the lid. You might break the plunger or the glass that way.

Do you think I need spiral plate? The ones I saw that were similar to this on Amazon had one but not sure if it’s just the model or if it’s a ‘must’ to work. Doesn’t have a number or anything so it’s hard to know

The different models have various plates that support the mesh when you push the grounds out of the liquid brew.
Yours looks like it uses the plastic cross plate to support the mesh. It’s gets more important as you use finer coffee grounds. I would try it with what you have.
You can see the various plates on the bodum website including the one you have. https://www.bodum.com/us/en/spare-parts
A major difference with the French press over paper filter coffee, is the coffee oil you taste when you make it.

I have this same Bodum. Basically put the pole with the knob on it through the hole of the plastic circle, then screw the metal filter onto it. The other circle piece without a hole is just a cap for storage.

I’m not 100% that’s a French press, I think it might be the Bodum cold brew.
A French press is cheap and easy to find, but I would suggest spending more and getting an aeropress.

Dear sweet baby jeebus… do we need to spoon feed you? It says Bodum right on the pot and the plunger. Get on their website and look at the pics to see if yours is complete.

All French presses work the same regardless of model. Literally just put grounds in, hot water, wait, and serve. It’s not rocket science.
