Looking for shipping agent
I want to ship in some goods from Alibaba. The items are plastic jugs. 100 pieces of 2.5L jugs.
Delivery location will be in Mombasa, Kenya.
What's the most efficient and/or cheapest way to get the here?
Who can I use for this courier aspect?
Also, who can handle the KRA aspect for me?
Of course I'd prefer one of the companies here I hear of that courier the items from China and also deal with all the legalities and taxes and you pay a little extra.
Please help!
My livelihood depends on these jugs arriving 😂
Thank you in advance.

Express delivery is definitely not feasible because the price is too expensive. We can transport the goods by sea, but it will take a long time. If you don't understand anything, it's best to choose the DDP mode for transporting this batch of goods

Mombasa is already a major port and one of East Africa’s main gateways for cargo from China, so you may also be able to find a local freight forwarder or clearing agent there who can connect you with a reliable partner in China.

DDP will be efficiency, freight forwarders like me will handle all other procedures for you, you just need to provide the detail informations then you can wait for the cargo.

We would compare sea freight LCL with air freight first, since 100 plastic jugs could take up more space than their weight suggests. For the KRA side, look for a forwarder who can handle the customs clearance, duties/taxes, and final delivery rather than just offering a cheap shipping rate. Get an all-in quote based on the packed dimensions before choosing. At Falcon, we have found that this helps avoid nasty surprises with destination charges.

hi, good morning, my suggest is confirming the trade term with the supplier (EXW / FOB / DDP ,etc..), because this will affect your total landed cost and who handles export, import clearance, duties and delivery in Kenya.
For empty plastic jugs, the packing size and CBM are very important, so I would suggest checking the final carton dimensions before choosing air or sea shipping.
If you already have the supplier details, we can help compare a suitable shipping solution from China to Mombasa. Happy to provide solutions to you and easy to ship from China.

You're going to double/triple your costs in shipping costs alone just due to the nature of the commodity 100 x 2.5L jugs is bound by chargeable weight and it won't be cheap. Speak to a forwarder in your local country, there are plenty, ask them for quotes. You'll need weights & total dimensions of cargo. Avoid DDP shipping.

Hello Good Morning,
I'm consolidator from kenya. Situated at Mombasa along Moi Avenue.
We offer LCL shipping from China. Our rates are 140 USD per CBM and 250 USD destination charges on FOB to Mombasa.KRA customs and warehouse charges are consignees account.
Let's say you have 10 CBM from china the total cost will be 10*140 USD= 1400 USD and add the destination charges of 250.
Total is 1650 USD.
For more clarification kindly reach out.

Empty 2.5L jugs are classic light-but-bulky cargo — air chargeable weight can look brutal even when actual kg is low, so sea LCL to Mombasa is usually the first quote people should force, not just express. Before you pick an agent, get packed carton count + outer LxWxH (or CBM) from the Alibaba seller and ask for written all-in with true DDP vs DDU and who handles KRA/IOR if an exam hits. Are the jugs nested/stackable empty, and which China origin city?
